Provera withdrawal - no bleeding?

Hello

I am trying to conceive DC2. I stopped ovulating four years ago (no periods either) and conceived DS - now 15mo - on Clomid/acupuncture. All my hormone results were always fine, but nothing ever happened without the Clomid.

I'm now seeing a different fertility team as periods have not come back. I still breastfeed a couple of times a day but as I work full time, there is usually at least 18 hours a day not feeding at all, which has been the case since 7mo.

The GP took blood which showed fine LH and FSH but low oestrodial. The new fertility nurse wanted me to do Provera (which I didn't take last time) for 10 days then withdraw. The idea is I then have my blood tests done at a set point in my cycle.

Anyway, I took the last tablet a week ago today and no bleeding. I've put on three pounds (my weight is normally steady), my breasts have been aching horribly and I've had a sore tummy. The side effects have felt really obvious compared to previous progesterone withdrawals. But that has now eased and no bleeding.

When should I tell the nurse? Some sources online say bleeding should commence within a week, while others say 14 days. Help, I'm so confused.

When I took provera it was almost 3 weeks before I had a bleed!

But in answer to your question I'd wait another week.

Thanks izzy - it's so unclear how long you are supposed to wait.
