Soon be TTC 2nd child

Hello Ladies,

I'm a newbie on Mumsnet so just thought I'd pop on and say hello.

My name is Michelle and I'll be having my implant out next week so we can TTC our 2nd child together.
My oh has 1 son (14) and we have a son, Elliott, together who is 14 months. I have PCOS so it took us 3 years and 1 15 week loss to get Elliott. I'm hoping this time round might be a bit simpler!

I'm ending the pill next week to TTC our 2nd too. DD is 18 months. Hung on til now to avoid an August baby, but I also have diagnosed pcos and a previous mmc found at 12 wks so I'm being super optimistic we'll catch on the first attempt, although prob unlikely

Hi Michelle...welcome to MN. My DS is 17 months & we are ttc our second baby. Been off the pill since October.
Just wanted to welcome you & wish you luck in ttc. The great thing about MN is that there are so many ladies going through the same or similar to you...so you never feel alone! Keep us posted!

Hello all another one here. DS is 16 months old and been off contraception for a few months. Don't feel like I am properly TTC yet though as periods haven't started since stopping BF 6 weeks ago. Getting a bit fed up waiting now and I have a docs appt for next week to have a chat about the delay in my periods restarting. I suspect I might have PCOS too as always had irregular cycles and at the baby scans both times the sonographer commented that my ovaries looks huge and cystic. Do you mind me asking Michelle and Lucyannieamy - whn did you start cycling again after having your little ones? I have a morbid fear that I will have problems conceiving this time round, last time we got lucky first period after coming off the pill. Fingers crossed for similar luck this time too.

Hi Michelle, I dont think 14 months is too soon to TTC, sounds good, I originally thought we'd do the same, but like agirlcalledvicky I ended up bf for longer than I thought I would, then really wanted a rest before TTC! My bleeding actually came back while I was bf even with me being on the progesterone pill, which dr then took me off of. Soon as I stopped bf ( sept) I went on dianette after 1 real period (a shock after so many months without!). I never had a prob with irregular cycles, just spots and hair and cysts on the ovaries, oh and not actually ovulating, fsh and all that. I think the cysts affect everyone differently, get your gp to do a day 3 hormone test to see how your levels are working.

What's the tag for fingers crossed? Used to use that when I posted about TTC the first time
