Conception

When's the best time to get pregnant? Use our interactive ovulation calculator to work out when you're most fertile and most likely to conceive.

The rats are all going to be jolly well smacked, we are going to have lots of festive BFPs and possibly a mince pie (or three)

TWO! FOUR! SIX! EIGHT!
WHAT DO WE APPRECIATE?
BROOKING NO ARGUMENT!! (and a BFP or two would be nice too if you can manage it)

Treat yourselves to a night off the brooking girls - I've got your backs.

TheLittleFriend · 28/11/2011 19:50

Lovely imps x

GreenOlives · 28/11/2011 19:53

Sending lots of brooking vibes to Generic and Little!

GreenOlives · 28/11/2011 19:57

X-post with Imps I bow down to your gymnastical fantasticness!! That was AMAZING Grin

whimsicalname · 28/11/2011 20:45

Well done imps, that's the spirit.

I'm joining in with you but in a slightly less flamboyant sort of way.

Perhaps I shall send a sternly worded letter to the Brooking Department. Or maybe tut a little in a queue. Or jab my knitting needle towards the radio in a 'making a point' gesture.

Three, Five, Seven, Nine
A Positive Line.

I might need a little sit down now. I don't tend to be that demonstrative.

GenericDietCola · 28/11/2011 20:46

You lot are great! Thank heavens for the brooking spirit!

Little - you know you probably tested too early, so please don't lose heart. Great that your cycle length has improved anyway. I'm brooking for you.

Munkii hope you are OK - take a night off chuck and get some sleep.

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 28/11/2011 22:16

Morning all,

Just leaving some tasty pastries and plenty of brooking spirit (or is that gin?) for you all.

Hope today is kind on you all and will be thinking of you Generic xx

CupcakesAndCocktails · 29/11/2011 08:42

Thanks for the goodies Munkii just what I need.

Generic how are you today? Hope you and minigeneric are doing ok?

I've just got back from the doctors. They lost one of DH semen samples so he needs to do that again. I need to start on iron supplements and a course of vitamin b12 injections. I have to get the injections twice a week until Xmas then once a month for a few months. I'm really scared about it, the GP said the injections are painful. He also said that after the semen results he will refer us to fertility specialist but that we are not eligible for ivf on the nhs. Am feeling a bit crap about it all this morning tbh.

Hope the rest of you rat smackers are ok

NinjaChipmunk · 29/11/2011 09:00

aw cupcakes please dont worry, it sounds like the Dr is being pro-active in getting stuff started. What are the injections supposed to do for you? Im sure someone on MN will have some advice for you. People here seem to know everything! May I ask (as I can't remember) why you are not eligable for ivf? I get thoroughly confused as to who already has dc and who hasn't (and I'm not ready to start a spreadsheet yet). We were also not eligible for IVF but we were eligible for all the tests etc before hand so had the pelvic ultrasound and HSG. I hope they sort something out for you soon. Please dont feel so crap.

we're good thanks for asking (I think that was about 3 pages ago but there you go!) Lovely to see you back on the brooking threads, I hope your dh is weaned off the meds without problems. That bfp will be yours in no time.

How are you feeling today munkiii? Hope you are ok,

Hello to everyone else, have good days all!

Solars · 29/11/2011 09:36

So sorry to hear so many of you are not having a good time, joins Imps with No Brooking on your behalf.

Generic hope you are ok today, sounds like it's just the little one settling in.

Cupcake awww lovely, it will all come together soon x

Sorry very busy in RL to catch up properly, think i'm in my 2ww now

PopcornMouse · 29/11/2011 09:47

sweetie I love WW, it's really flexible. My tips would be: be aware that different cuts of meat (eg chicken breast vs thighs) and differently prepared potato (e.g. mashed vs baked) have different points values, when I was new I found it easy to slip up there. I now eat loads more veg as that is free, which is good - even bulky veg like pumpkin and squash - but if you neeeeeed something naughty, kinder eggs are only 3 points, options hot chocolate is only 1, and a bag of walkers french fries/quavers/skips are only 2 (basically all the bags that are 89ish calories) :)

Little your bfn was totally caused by dilute midday wee!! Give it a few days :)

Generic I'm sorry to hear you had a bit of a scare, but glad the bleeding's stopped! I had heard from MN that little bit of blood was (moderately) normal in the early days? But I bet it's still terrifying.

cupcakes he told you they'd hurt? Hmm Try not to worry; some people find injections more painful than others ? maybe he has a low pain threshold

Whimsy I'm due Thursday. Yes, I'm starting to realise my rationale was flawed Blush

possiblemaybebaby · 29/11/2011 09:54

Morning one and all, how are we? I have many posts to read, but wanted to say thank you for all the birthday wishes. Had a lovely weekend, and was very well looked after.

Little it's only a matter of time before that turns into a BFP

Generic hope you are feeling better now, we are all brooking, and loads of people I know have had a bleed and had gorgeous babies.

Off to catch up properly

PopcornMouse · 29/11/2011 09:54

Ladies, I have a friend Blush who has just discovered her DH has been smacking his rat solo, shall we say, every day Shock even when regularly also S his wife WI Blush Blush
This would surely cause something of a perpetual low sperm count and significantly lower my their chances of conception, right? Blush

I should add, he has realised the error of his ways and has agreed to abstain next cycle :o

PopcornMouse · 29/11/2011 09:55

Oh god, I would give my left leg for some carrot cake, maybe

(That's another thing, sweetie - they're tiny, but Weightwatchers branded cakes are GOOD :d )

GenericDietCola · 29/11/2011 10:00

Cupcakes I'm glad your GP is starting you on some treatment, but a shame re IVF. You know there are several options before IVF though, so hopefully it won't come to that anyway.

Solars yay re 2ww! Your BFP is on its way this month I am sure!

Popcorn love your WW tips - I did it years ago and loved it. I lost 2 stone and am probably now a stone more than I was when I stopped, but still reasonably happy and I still use the tips I learned at WW to keep my weight down. My favourite treats were curly wurlys (I think these were only 3 or 4 points in my day) and French Fries crisps, like you said. Ooh your freind's DH should probably stop smacking his own rat, especially during the SWI time (but I'm no expert in these matters). Save the swimmers for the egg I say!

Well, no more bleeding here, so I feel a bit more optimistic. Thank you for all your brooking. I'm off to the doctor's later for my flu jab and will ask if my blood test results are back. Still a long way to go, but at least that worry has subsided!

possiblemaybebaby · 29/11/2011 10:16

Popcorn I have a similar firend who also discovered this problem. I heard she threatened to chop his balls off if he didn't stop. I hope it's worked Grin

Good luck for your jab Generic pleased the bleeding has stopped.

Sorry about the arrival of AF and the BFNs ladies. And so sorry that things are all a bit emotional. Hopefully with Christmas coming up, we will all relax, eat to many pies, drink too much, shag for the sake of shagging and all end up with Christmas BFPs Smile

BeedleTheBard · 29/11/2011 11:15

afternoon ladies

popcorn my friend needs to tell her DP to abstain from solo rat smacking this weekend as she is away for a few days and coming back to peak SWI days - she also suspects he may usually indulge in this even when she is there Blush

generic hope everything is ok with you, we're all brooking hard here

so just a short message loads to do before I go away tomorrow - flying into Stansted is not going to be fun tomorrow Angry

hope to come back to lots of BFPs next week - not sure I'll have much internet access whilst I'm away

whimsicalname · 29/11/2011 11:16

Cupcakes good news that your GP is getting things going. Just lie back and think of england for those jabs. We have our family trip for flu jabs on Friday. I don't mind them that much, but last year it was standing room only in the waiting room, one of my kids bit the nurse and the other tried to run away. The receptionist had to come and hold the baby, who was howling. I looked a total basket case.

popcorn, can you hold out til Friday for POAS / IAR? I'll be doing mine then (assuming no AF before that).

I've just had breakfast at ikea. I brought you all some coffee and those cinnamon buns that cost 50p. I have to admit, I put the coffee through on my family card. I'm classy like that.

PopcornMouse · 29/11/2011 11:31

Wow, I didn't think so many of you would have a friend like mine :o
He didn't need his balls threatened, maybe (luckily for him!) - not yet, anyway!

Whimsy I think I can manage that! Any symptoms? :)
I am :o at the DC who bit the nurse!

possiblemaybebaby · 29/11/2011 11:38

Whim and Pop , I am keeping everything crossed for you both on Friday. Yes, symptoms please Grin

Also Grin at your DCs Whim Poor little things!

Good luck tomorrow Beedle, I don't envy you with the travel situation Sad

PopcornMouse · 29/11/2011 11:40

Oh gosh, yes beedle, I'd forgotten about the strikes! Good luck - take a book and a bottle of water :)

whimsicalname · 29/11/2011 11:58

Symptoms: Foul temper on Saturday (either hangover or PMT) so that's one point to AF.

Constipated. Could go either way

Spot on chin. Usually related to AF, but has mysteriously dried up, so potential BFP.

EWCM, randomly, today. Goodness only knows what that means.

Craving lamb chops. Thats's a definite BFP symptom. Or just greed.

So fairly even chances. I wonder what the bookies odds would be?
