Hmm, for some reason my computer is just bringing me to the flickr home page. Hopefully I will be able to see on home computer.

You know what to do Xmas Wink

possiblemaybebaby · 05/12/2011 12:34

I actually can't concentrate on anything today. Wish it was the weekend so I could know one way or the other Xmas Grin

HaveYourselfAFaithyChristmas · 05/12/2011 12:44

Welcome back far how lovely to see you [hgrin] glad you had such a fab holiday!
Yes, fire service said best thing is to pull everything out at the socket when you're not using it. I got a couple of bras and knockers knickers but sadly desperate times could only get one matching set. But beggars homeless smokey Joes can't be choosers. At least I have some time wear. Also treated myself to the lushest pyjama set ever from Tesco. It's purple, such soft material, got a tshirt top, bottoms and a fluffy jacket. Just, because, you know?

possiblemaybebaby · 05/12/2011 12:47

Ooooh, I love pjs Have You never need an excuse to buy them, but, I think you have the best excuse ever at the moment!

Oh, and I know I shouldn't, but Xmas Grin at smokey joe!

Stasi · 05/12/2011 13:03

Have - so sorry about the fire. It's hard to imagine how you'd deal with it until you're faced with it. Likewise trying to imagine how you're feeling. Very glad you are both ok, and also that it's kindled a different kind of fire in the bedroom.

Imps - Wow! So pleased for you, looking forward to the reports of ever-darkening lines!! Sounds like a nice ironic BFP too, with your hangover at the weekend :)

Maybe - Where do you live? I'll post you some cheapies!! They'd arrive tomorrow morning with a courier. Put us out of our misery :)

Sweetie - hope you had a wonderful weekend away. I've never been to Paris, except a trip to Disneyland which doesn't count.

Have - just been looking at your photos (you linked to the mobile page, the desktop link is here. It's strange how some things are totally destroyed, yet others are almost untouched. The kitchen roll on the window sill hasn't been touched, and the photos on the fridge still seem mostly ok. Really hope your insurance company pay out soon so you can get yourself back into your own house. Looks like it was a lovely kitchen. Also, PJs are my version of your average women's shoes. I buy them all the time and love getting new ones (but I only have 2 pairs of shoes).

Far - welcome back. I'm glad you and your DH had a lovely time, and that you were able to forget about TTC for a while. Maybe you'll be another one that seems to prove the 'just relax' method of getting a BFP (though, of course there will be another, more sensible reason for it, like more SFF).

I had a good weekend, though was very grumpy on Sunday morning. We went and got all our wedding gifts from John Lewis, and while I was there I bought some wool (well, cotton) to knit a christmas present. The lady put it through the till but didn't put it in the bag. So when I looked later to start my project, I couldn't. Made me unreasonably grumpy. Also been very emotional. Silly little things have been making me very close to tears, like reading your news have, and other random things on the internet. Can ovulation make you emotional too?

My task for this week is to get all Christmas presents planned, and a few bought. How is everyone else doing on the present front?

TheLittleFriend · 05/12/2011 13:07

oooh Imps that is fantastically exciting!! We can be early pregnancy buddies with maybe too when she eventually piacr

Great to have you back far

possiblemaybebaby · 05/12/2011 13:10

Oh Stasi how frustrating. I definitely get emotional around ovulation. I live in Essex, the complete opposite end of the country to you, no? Xmas Grin

My pyjama draw (yes I have a whole draw of them) is at breaking point. In fact, DH has had to replace the runner on it twice already Xmas Blush My names Maybe and I am a pj addict.

Have the photos are awful. I thought the same as Sasi though, so strange how somethings have been left untouched. I hope the insurance company process everything quickly for you.

On the presents front, I have made my niece her few bits, but other than that I haven't got anything! I do know what I am getting everyone though, just waiting for pay day first Xmas Smile

GenericDietCola · 05/12/2011 13:13

Welcome back Farfalla - glad you had a lovely time.

Official congratulations Little even though I've already seen you on the other thread!

And IMPS oh my! You go girl.

Right, where's Maybe?

Have so sorry to hear of your traumatic weekend - surely this must spell ironic BFP like nothing else!

possiblemaybebaby · 05/12/2011 13:29

Generic! How the devil are you?

I am still here, hiding in the corner, making symptom lists in my head, then deciding that this isn't the clever way to do things Xmas Grin

beangrower · 05/12/2011 13:30

Wow - turn your back to grow some beans and the world has 2 new people due to be joining it in 38 weeks! Congratulations to Little and Imps (though I know this is yet to be confirmed). Little - do you mind me asking how long you TTCd this time? So exciting. Imps - I am reading an excellent book by Toni Weschler and if you're charting (I know you are) you are likely to see a second temp rise after implantation - as you undoubtedly know so this will confirm as well as the p-stick lines.

I'm excited about this book and charting (though how I'll manage regular temps - given that I seem to be up at 4am most mornings either peeing or attending to DS who seems keen on this hour of the day - I don't know). It will definitely help me make sense of the last few months. My EWCM has not been that impressive (in fact I'm not sure I've ever found any - boo) but apparently this is normal for my age so my likelihood of conceiving is narrowed to possibly 1-2 days of good CM (unlike you young birds who get around 4-5). I feel like I might be able to take control of my TTC anxiety and uncertainty and that a second DC isn't a totally daft idea. (I think this and a scan that showed a good amount of follicles in the eggbox has helped improve my outlook anyway).

Now guzzling an expectorant to improve the CM - apparently evening primrose helps too but only first half of the month.

Can't believe Have has been caught in a house fire. Poor love. Hope all gradually getting sorted.

Loads of posts that I haven't caught up on. Hello to all of you - welcome back Far - hope you had the most amazing time.

Pop have nearly finished that stripy jumper. And really recommend that book for you - "Taking Charge of your Fertility" as I know you temp and this explains all sorts (perhaps you've read it already though?!)

x

ScrambledSmegs · 05/12/2011 13:32

Welcome back far! Am very impressed that you forgot where you were in your cycle, sounds like a fantastic holiday Xmas Smile

Have those photos are awful Sad Fire is weird, isn't it - it only seems to travel upward, so most stuff lower than the original point has been untouched.

Maybe how many DPO are you now? Not trying to test your resolve or anything, I'm just curious!

Have done no Christmas shopping yet. It's part of my plan of action this week. Luckily I've chosen what I'm getting for most people, but am struggling badly with the last few people. Am very Xmas Angry about getting stressed over it, because these are the people who always fob me off with vouchers from stores I don't shop at (I am the easiest person to buy for, I have an Amazon wishlist full of cheap tat goodies fgs) but if I were to do the same for them I would never hear the end of it.

HaveYourselfAFaithyChristmas · 05/12/2011 13:32

Yes tis weird. Like the washing machine is the other end of the kitchen and looks fine though it'll all have to be tested. Everything in the living room is black with smoke damage. Really that seems worse. I'll take some pictures of it when we go home tomorrow.
imps that's so exciting! Have you contacted your other half now?
I get tearful around ovulation too stasi. I guess it's a surge of hormones. I think I'm about to lay an egg but its hard to tell.

possiblemaybebaby · 05/12/2011 13:36

Bean I wouldn't worry too much about the snail trail as it were. I know some people hardly get any EWCM and have gone on to get preggers.

Smegs I am convinced that I ovulated 16-17 days ago, though I could of course be wrong Xmas Hmm

Fingers crossed for that egg Have

PopcornMouse · 05/12/2011 13:41

Hi far!

have those photos really are awful, I'm so sorry you're going through this, so close to Christmas as well. A food processor? Xmas Shock

Stasi I have three gifts Xmas Blush DH and I are going to make A List tonight and see what we nee to order off the internet go and buy.

Smegs surely if you gift-card them and they gift-card you too, they can't complain? DH just puts money in a card for most of his younger siblings (so they can save up to buy underage booze a playstation game or something) but my lot are more tricky.

bean I haven't read it, I'm glad you think it's good. I will maybe get it in January, as I'm not temping this month not that I will need to as will be upduffed :o

This month we're going with the SWI every other day with no 'me' time inbetween for DH for the whole cycle which we kicked off last night, despite it being a good 10-20 days to ovulation :o

ScrambledSmegs · 05/12/2011 13:49

Popcorn they will complain and they have in the past! Apparently it shows lack of thought and care and it ruined their Christmas Xmas Hmm - and when I tried to point out that it's exactly what they'd been giving me for many years I was an ungrateful wretch. You can't win with them.

Le sigh.

HaveYourselfAFaithyChristmas · 05/12/2011 13:52

Can I.just say boo hoo I had all my presents sorted and wrapped?! Most will be ok cos they were in the spare room. The last few I wrapped and left in the living room on Saturday will not.
I'm still Shock at the 'metime'. Did he seriously not realise?! It also makes me realise how low a libido DH has had. Only swi a couple of times a week with no 'metime' in between!

possiblemaybebaby · 05/12/2011 14:10

I'm pleased to hear you are putting your foot down Pop with regards to DH's 'me time' Xmas Grin To be fair on my DH he only has 'me time' when he is on nights. I can thoroughly recommend getting a puppy. It puts a stop to all 'me time' Xmas Grin

Have I'm pleased most of your presents are safe.

Smegs there is no pleasing some people is there?

Stasi · 05/12/2011 14:14

Smegs I think I'd consider disowning them... Are they important to stay on the good side of? People with double standards really annoy me, because there's just no way of explaining to them how unreasonable they are. Somehow they manage to keep it your fault, at least in their own world.

Maybe I also have a whole drawer of PJs. It's getting a bit too full too, but I'm hoping a new magical folding technique will make them (and more) fit.

Bean I don't get much EWCM, I think I used to get more, but it disappeared at some point. I bought, and occasionally use, the preseed stuff as it's internal which seems more useful for sperm survival. DH prefers to use the preconception stuff external though. I think some people drink grapefruit juice to increase CM?

Maybe I keep forgetting, do you temp? A sustained high temp for 18 days mean you are almost certainly pg. With or without any implantation dips or triphasic patterns.

Have my DH also has quite a low libido, he's willing to DTD every other day, or every day, for SWI, but when I tell him we're into the 2ww, he just forgets about the whole thing for the next 2-3 weeks. We had the chat about 'me time' at the weekend, and he's admitted to having a little, but only when I go away to London on business (which is rare).

possiblemaybebaby · 05/12/2011 14:18

I am a fan of Gap pjs Stasi in fact, i had a new pair on last night! I had started temping, then the puppy landed! If it's any help, I have felt like a furnace for the last 3-4 nights! But feel really chilly during the day Xmas Hmm And I did have a bit of pink spotting 9 days ago. But as I say, I think I am getting my hopes up!

Loooopy · 05/12/2011 14:19

after a bit of an opinion from you all if you don't mind Xmas Wink

so my first AF in almost 2 years started properly last Monday (28th) there was a bit of spotting when i wiped on Sunday, but proper heavy flow by Monday, and the last bit of it ended yesterday.

As this is my first for quite some time, and as i fell pregnant with my DS the first month after coming off the pill, i haven't a clue how long my cycles are, or how long my luteal phases are. I had a look at an online ovulation calender, and it wanted these details!

Anyone care to suggest when i could possibly ovulate from/to date wise?

(and maybe PIACR PLEASE and Imps POACB PLEASE (Clear Blue ;) )

PopcornMouse · 05/12/2011 14:23

Apparently not, maybe! Blush It was sort of funny watching the penny drop, though, as I told him that dtd every other day was better than every day; I swear I could see the cogs whirring in his cute wee head as he put 2+2 together :o

I'm not sure I'd say his labido was ?normal? normal though, 2-3 times a week sounds quite healthy to me?? Hmm

Smegs they sound, err, lovely Xmas Shock

PopcornMouse · 05/12/2011 14:25

Loopy at a guess, you'll have ovulated somewhere around 10-16 days before the date of your first full flow :)

possiblemaybebaby · 05/12/2011 14:25

Looooopy I shall have a go at a bit of advice, though I am no expert Xmas Grin

So I would take Monday as CD1. The 'average' day to ovulate on, if your cycles are an 'average' length of 28 days is CD14, giving you a 14 day luteal phase. But, it thoroughly depends on your cycle. I normally ov later, and have a 15 day luteal phase. I would just SWI from day 9/10 for as long as you can possibly manage it [exhausted emoticon] You may well notice signs of ov yourself such as EWCM, twinges, bloating etc.

Sorry for the ramble Xmas Blush
