Welcome to all!

Grab a glittery tinsel wrapped ramekin, grab some mulled wine and join our very lucky thread.

Didn't realise the 30degs thing was old news - tust call me Cynic McCynic in that case Pops!

The conversation about man vits between me and OH went like this:

Me: To help us grow a baby do you want to start taking multi-vitami...
OH (interrupting): No.

Imps7 · 02/12/2011 12:02

just, not tust. What is with my typos today? Clearly I have baby fingers as well as baby brain.

Solars · 02/12/2011 12:26

Pop that's a very interesting article, but i too am a little sceptical firstly it was only a sample of 56(!) women and secondly it only seemed to be promoting Pregnacare surely there are other brands on the market???

Right my work is done unless something else comes along and I now feel very very bored :(

Hello lovelies

Excited about Little, brooking for MrHave and enjoying the rest of your chat. Big BOOOO to Whim's AF - thought her time here would be over quickly but we get to keep her another month before her BFP.

Escaped a trip to IKKYEA this morning. But need to get Christmassy so it will have to happen soon.

Imps - your man needs co-operation vits not preconception vits. Hmm

Just met a lady with a one-year old who was clearly pregnant. Apparently she is 44, and the bump is number 3. (No IVF or anything much from what I can gather, just plain old S whether that be SWI or SFF I wasn't quite rude enough to find out.) Some people are lucky eh? But encouraging to all I hope (and not just old dufferbeangrower, here).

xxx

Imps7 · 02/12/2011 13:18

Haaa Bean I'm not going to force him to take something he doesn't want too, particularly as this is only our 5th "real" cycle of trying. It may be a different story if we do end up having difficulties and his spermies are a factor in that. I'm also very conscious of stressing him out again but being too bullying appearing too desperate to conceive.

The mind boggles at how busy Ikea must be in the run up to Christmas Xmas Confused

Imps7 · 02/12/2011 13:19

"by" not "but". I really need to sort out my typing today.

whimsicalname · 02/12/2011 13:22

Gosh, what a lot of chat to catch up on. I've skimmed. All I managed to glean was something about bikes and railings. Imps I feel your pain! Why do people chain their bikes to my railings unless they're visiting me? It's like parking your car on number 20's drive to visit number 23. Not that we have drives on our street. Just railings.

I will brandish this thread at my husband, who clearly thinks I'm a hysterical wierdo when I get annoyed at other people's bikes.

Cheerio for a bit. Have ill kiddies to look after, then day out of the office on Monday. How will I ever catch up?

whimsicalname · 02/12/2011 13:23

And thanks for all your meting of punishments to AF. I thought that by weeing on ovulating sticks and taking vitamins, I would def def def be upduffed. Apparently we need to dtd as well. Next month.

TheLittleFriend · 02/12/2011 13:27

Biscuits I knew my post about dpo was confusing!

So just to try and make it more clear:

There was SWI just on CD7, CD9 and CD19 this month (poor effort I know).

I had spotting from CD13-18 so I presume I ovulated on one of those days.

So I am 12-17 DPO right now.

The thing is, when you look at when I swi and when I probably ovulated, there really is hardly any chance I'm pregnant anyway! And I'm sorry to disappoint, but i have set Wednesday as my new PIAPP day if no af appears. If it's a BFN then, then I will presume I didn't ovulate at all!

TheLittleFriend · 02/12/2011 13:29

Oh and my dp is going to Ikea on his own after work tonight with a big list written by me muwahahahaha Xmas Grin

Biscuitsandtea · 02/12/2011 13:31

Thank you for explaining Little

PIAPP?

How long are your normal cycles? They're normally on the shorter side aren't they?

Imps7 · 02/12/2011 13:32

Little, by my calculation, if you SWId on CD9 and ovulated on CD13 then you're in with a chance, and if you Ovd on CD 18 and SWId on CD19 then you're in with an even better chance, considering the egg's life span of 12-24 hours.

I don't reckon you're out of the running, not by a long shot. How long is your usual LP? Are you passed that yet??

GenericDietCola · 02/12/2011 13:37

Oh Little you are keeping us in suspense!

So when are yooooou PIACR (Christmas ramekin)?! Hmm?

Sorry about AF Whimsical - she is a bugger.

Imps I was shocked at your bike story and you are totally in the right! Many years ago I lived in a row of terraced houses with no off street parking (I still do actually, but another street) and parked my car outside the house a few doors down as there was no space outside my house. An hour or so later, I noticed the woman who lived at that house shunting my car along with hers so that she could park right outside her own house!

Thank you brookers for your support with the high hCG results and yes I am very pleased. Dr Google tells me there is a chance of twins with this result, so I am now fantasising/worrying about that alternately! In all seriousness, I will be thrilled to be having one healthy baby so two would be wonderful!

Happy Friday everyone!

GenericDietCola · 02/12/2011 13:37

Meant to say good luck to Have and Mr Have.

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 02/12/2011 13:38

imps Mr have was not against taking multivitamins but lapsydasical until he got his rubbish sa back. Then he wanted to know what he could do, Googled it, told me what vitamins he needed. At which point I said 'yes I know. They're all in the tablets I bought you ' Angry Grr. He got better at taking them :) he has said yes to me charting again from next cycle too.
He's literally being scanned as we speak. I really wish I could watch and see inside his brain
little do you have an idea of when ee laid an egg? I reckon like imps says you're still in with a chance.

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 02/12/2011 13:41

Ooh generic how scary exciting! Carriedabaybee just found out she's carrying twins. Did a recent chat thread and got lots of support so if it's the case you could nab some ideas for you..

TheLittleFriend · 02/12/2011 13:45

biscuits - PIAPP = Pee In A Plastic Pot! And yes, cycles are usually very short. I've never got past 24 days before!

Imps Not sure how long my usual LP is, but I am pretty certain I will have past it, as my cycles are usually so much shorter

Generic Xmas Shock at someone shunting your car out of the way!

Have I'm really not sure exactly when the egg was laid, my guess is between CD13 -CD18 due to spotting. Is it a MRI MrHave is having? I had one of those on my brain years ago and it was totally fine to have done, just noisy.

Imps7 · 02/12/2011 13:47

I've taken the liberty of searching for charts on Fertility Friend with intercourse patterns of SWI 4 days before Ov and 1 day after Ov. Here are the results..........

SWI 4 days before Ov:
23% of cycles charted resulted in a pregnancy;
76% of cycles charted resulted in no pregnancy (not sure what happened to the other 1%...)

SWI 1 day after Ov:
16% resulted in pregnancy;
82% resulted in no pregnancy. Again, it's a mystery what happened to the others.

So I was wrong earlier - your chances would appear to be better with the earlier shag!

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 02/12/2011 13:48

Yes mri of his pituitary. How have you not tested yet?! Test good woman, test!!!!

ScrambledSmegs · 02/12/2011 13:50

Hmm. That research seems a bit suspect. We are taking those multivits anyway (special offer in Boots a few weeks ago) but not long enough for a result IYKWIM. DH has been quite good at taking his, but only because I actually give them to him!

Solars I daren't say where we're going, as it may out me in RL. I'll just say it's a town on the south coast, not the ubiquitous Brighton, and I think we're going to have a lovely time. It seems a little bit more grown-up than some I've been on, which I think is right up my street.

TheLittleFriend · 02/12/2011 13:53

I have tested have, day 26 & 28, both BFN. Believe me, my will power is not that strong!! Xmas Grin

Imps7 · 02/12/2011 13:54

Oh, and I also did a search for "First negative test at 15DPO" and out of those charts, 11% resulted in a pregnancy! So, there is at least an 11% chance that you are well and truly up the duff!

TheLittleFriend · 02/12/2011 13:57

Thanks Imps you have made me feel quite positive! x

beangrower · 02/12/2011 14:14

Imps if I pay you for the research Xmas Grin can you tell me when I should be having S on any given cycle? I get a regular LH smiley face cd12 but my cycle length seems to vary from 26-29 days. I understood that a girl's luteal phase is usually consistent but can be from 12-16 days in any woman. I'm beginning to wonder if I'm getting my days wrong. Last month AF arrived on cd30, but I still got a smiley face on cd12 and SWId on cd11 and cd13. If my luteal phase is the usual 14 days (and no reason that it isn't normal - I seem to have regular cycles and normal periods etc) that means I didn't actually ov til around cd16...? Or am I getting confused.

My last BFP (DS) came cycle 2 (which I really find hard to believe now after ttc all this time) and I'm not really sure when we actually managed to smack the rat as I hadn't learnt any of the stuff I'm a dabhand with now...

Little - very confused for you. Don't understand those BFNs. Or just v late ov and therefore too early to get a BFP?

V Xmas Confused

TheLittleFriend · 02/12/2011 14:19

I'm just watching The Great Sperm Race - OMG how funny are those people dressed up as sperm! One of them was knitting whilst waiting to be ejaculated! (I wonder if he reads pops knitting mag?)
