Spotting 14-16 DPO, BFN's...what's going on?

Hi folks,

I wonder if anyone out there could share their wisdom with me?

I'm TTC, 2nd month in. DH and I had some well timed SWI (using OPK's and charting).

It's now 16 DPO and I have had three days of spotting brown blood, but seems to be tapering off. I know it's too late for an implantation bleed. I've done HPT's for the last three days but all are negative. Wondering what's going on!

Unfortunately I don't know my usual cycle/luteal phase length as I had the Mirena removed in September and before that was on the pill. Last month's luteal phase was 11 days.

I am wondering whether the spotting is AF in disguise (normally she is heavy and red )
or whether it might be breakthrough bleeding and I am, in fact preggo (but the HPTs/my urine are duds), or is this just weird post Mirena goings-on?

My chart is here if anyone cares to take a look. Temperatures are still high which gives me some hope I may be upduffed....

I'd love some advice on what people think is going on. Thanks!

Could it be the newly-removed Mirena causing irregular cycles/spotting? (I have never used Mirena, but had a few odd cycles after coming off cerazette)

Sorry to be negative but I'd say it's just AF coming in gradually.

My AF always starts with a few days of spotting (starting off pink then turning dark brown) and then kicks into proper bleeding.

My temp stays up throughout the spotting and only drops once AF kicks in properly. My boobs also seem to be the last to know that Af is on its way cos they stay solid throughout the spotting.

Also, i think the mirena takes a while to get out of your system. It's still early days for TTC for you - hopefully you wont have to wait long.

I think the BFNs are probably right. Sorry. Feel free to prove me wrong though

I've started getting this...first time I was confused/excited...last cycle, nada. I don't know why, I never got it before ttc! All you can do is wait. Your chart isn't really conclusive either way, it's not triphasic but there's no temp drop. See what your temp does tomorrow. If it starts dropping I'd say it's game over :( but you never know. Did you use fmu for the tests?

Thanks ladies! Right on cue, temp dropped this morning and AF arrived immediately. Thanks for indulging my madness, it's good to get some perspective sometimes!
