SEX 4 days PRE Ovulation. Any chance?

I had intercourse 4 days (Friday evening) 4 days pre ovulation. Do I have any chance for hope? Ovulation was Monday/Tuesday.

Healthy sperm can live 5 days in a hospitable environment so in theory yes.

I thought I had no chance last month. We DTD on CD 13 and I have regular 31 day cycles, so usually ovulate on CD 17 or 18.
Got my BFP last week!

But you could have ovulated early....

Any mums who conceived 4 D PreO ?

In theory there is a chance but it is much lower than up to 3 days before ovulation. Could happen though.

What does 'hospitable environment' mean? I had my ovulation yesterday as my surge was yesterday and the day before yesterday (Tuesday and Wednesday) so i am sure it wasn't before or can the LH surege be after ovulation????????????

I will keep up updated if 4 days have worked.

I conceived my DS (by happy accident) on CD10 and I always ovulate on CD14/15 so its definately possible. In fact, the only reason I took a risk that night was because I hadn't seen any fertile quality CM yet so thought I was safe. Nearly died of shock when AF didn't appear!!! TTC#2 now as of yesterday so hoping I'm such a fertile mertle again this time round.

yes, it's possible. Otherwise we wouldn't have all been warned about the unreliability of the "rhythm method" of contraception.

blue22 congratulations! I'm having you as my lucky charm. I too have a 31 day cycle and usually ovulate on day 17 and was thinking that I've got no chance this month as we only DTD on day 13. Mind you, I am an old bird so won't hold my breath.

nothing doing here I'm afraid and I had a 29 day cycle this time around so technically timing was better.

We had sex every day for 5 days up to and including my ovulation day last month, still not worked! : -)

I'm supposed to take my 6th cycle of Clomid today as it's now day 2 but due to work committments during my high fertility period this month, there's no point but will try anyway and take the last table in January/February.

Been trying for almost 3 years, 'unexplained infertility'...there's nothing wrong yet not conceiving : -(
