Skipping around this afternoon. Got my appt with Dr McDreamy's nurse on dec 13th when (according to dates) will be 9+1, won't know my scan date until that appointment!!

Fish, if only it were the real Dr McDreamy!! Mmmmmm... What does 9 +1 mean please???

Re OPKs, I used the Clearblue one and I got a smilie face day 16, no BFP but it seems quite good.

No more googling, from anyone. It's fatal!!! I stupidly googled about fertility after Mirena and read loads of stories about women becoming infertile :( It's now constantly at the back of my mind :(

CB are notorious for evap lines Secret. It really doesn't mean to say you are not pregnant. Have you tried FR? They really do seem to be the way forward!

Hello, please could I join in? I came off the Pill at the end of September but, frustratingly, my cycle has gone haywire and I am yet to have a proper period (argh). TTC #1.

secret give up on clearblue and try a first response instead, I think they're much more sensitive.

fish that's exciting, do you feel happier now that things are happening. Its a bit weird at first, I think. You get your bfp and then nothing happens for ages....

frilly that all sounds very promising - I'll be so impressed if you manage to wait til af is actually due before testing :) (by the way - 9+1 means 9 weeks and 1 day)

minky and secret my fingers ache from having them crossed for so long! But they'll stay that way as long as needed :)

I haven't sorted any appointments yet. round here you don't see a doctor, you just fill in a form and then the midwife gets in touch with you, usually at about 8 weeks, which seems ages away. i'm going to lie about my dates again so i can try and get an early scan

8 weeks Kirrin? Yikes, not sure I could wait that long :( What sort of age gap will be between DD and the next DC?

Even though I've left it late, we've said we'd like two, but we'll need to get a move on!

I do get a bit sad thinking this will be my only one, I know whenever I find out the sex I will be sad I'm not going to have one of the other, iyswim? Been thinking about that today now it's all real.

To that effect, since I'm so insane I plan on finding out the sex through a non invasive finger prick blood test at 10 wks. so I can have time to reconcile knowing I won't have the opposite and start bonding with little one. I know most of you may think I'm crazy, just a personal preference.

Kirrin I'm same boat as you really, I wont see anyone properly until 9 weeks. Going to go even more nuts by then I'm sure.

I did remind myself I've only known I'm pregnant for 10 days (eek really?!) so I'm sure some craziness will dissipate soon.

Have any of you thought about names?

Back to work tomorrow after 3 days off, will be weird going back. Planning to tell people soon ish so I won't have to lift as many heavy things hopefully.

If there is any silver lining suppose it's that you get your very regular cycle going, I'd kill to have one of those! I lied on the form today and said mine were regular, hence the slightly earlier due date. Now I'm feeling guilty about it

Fish can I ask why this DC will be your only one? Please don't answer if you don't want to. I'm just curious as you're young. You never know what may happen in the future!

When I met DP I was adamant I wasn't having any kids, never, ever! Now look at me, a POAS maniac!! xx

Hehe, well I guess if in the future I meet some wonderful DP and he/she wants a child together with me then may reconsider but I highly doubt that will happen. I'm quite happy being single and can't financially or emotionally cope with more than 1 I feel. Long term plan includes at least 10 years of being single.

Never say never but almost certain.

Now all this is fucked if I manage to end up with twins (she cackles half-hysterically, half-terrifiedly). My aunt has twins so I am a teensy weeny bit worried, the nurse today did say "oh I'll mark history of twins in family on your chart then".

I'd love twins, over in one go. They're not in either family but they do say the older you are TTC then the higher chance! xx
