Hello Ladies,

I'm not sure if there are any of you on here that still remember me. I decided to leave the board for a while, it kind of takes over your life and I was quite ill at the end of last year (2004).

The latest news is that we are still TTC. In fact, we went to the IVF clinic the other week after I had lost 3.5 stone ... only to be told I have to lose another 2! So they can sod off.

Also, we are moving soon ...

And lastly, I actually started with AF on New Years eve! Having only had AF in March and September, I almost got 3 cycles in one year. It's a strange AF though, a bit of spotting on new years eve, a light flow new years day and today. Normally i flood the place out for the first two days and then it tails off. Could be to do with the weight loss ... I don't know.

Anyway, that's where I'm up to right now.

BeckiF,

Was wondering if you've been diagnosed with any specific problem/s preventing conception?. If not I would question the IVF route as it may not actually be the way forward.

I ask this as I read that your cycles have been very irregular as well as heavy. Have the possibilities of you having PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome, this can cause irregular periods) and fibroids (this can cause heavy periods) been investigated further?.

The symptoms of PCOS can be controlled though not cured. Weight can have much bearing on the overall symptoms of PCOS, being overweight can exacerbate the symptoms for some women who have this condition.

I've been through many many years of tests ... the final diagnosis being that I have a form of PCOS. This attributed to my weight problems. I was on Metformin for quite a while but I came off it as it made me so ill. Also DP has had a vasectomy reversal and a low-ish sperm count, so we have wrigglers on ice and will be having ICSI. Houwever, we both pray for a natural miracle.

I clicked on this thread looking for something on endometriosis and was extremely pleased to see you here

Becki - There were a few of us asking after you a while back on a thread in your name. I cannot remember who exactly but we were all in a thread last year together.
Well done you on the weight loss, i could never achieve that, you must be really proud of yourself. Sorry that you've been asked to do more, but you can do it...you've gone this far.

Keep in touch. Will keep checking here to see how you are xxxxx

BeckiF glad to hear from you - I remember you from the TTC threads. I was lucky enough to have DS2 last year, now approaching 5 months. Many congratulations in losing 3.5 stone - a great achievement. I'm sorry you had a negative experience at the IVF clinic. Best of luck with TTC - I'm sure you'll get there in the end and it will be worth all the heartache.

Hey it's great to hear from you, wandered where you'd gone - remember you from the ttc threads before and worried when you disappeared. I had a wee girl in september, she'll be 4 months old on saturday. Well done on the weight loss and all the very best with ttc, hope you get the miracle you want , take care x
