You may have missed the surge. I only ever find it if I test in the afternoon, at about 3pm! Best way is to chart temps too, if you aren't already. It gets a bit obsessy tho! Good luck.

Signet2012 · 10/11/2011 21:16

I havent done the temps to be honest as DP doesnt want it to get too "clinical" as we have only been trying since Feb.

Im a bit ashamed as to how much I actually know about my cycle and body as a whole!

Ive been testing about 6pm so you think I could be missing it? So its not something that would be evident at all times during the ovulation days?

Im getting myself all worked up that I might not even be ovulating perhaps I need to chill out a bit?

I've never had a line on an ovulation stick. Was so convinced I wasn't ovulating I dodn't use contraception. DS is nnow 8 months Grin

andthisisme · 10/11/2011 21:22

The first time I used ovulation sticks I got a positive (if that's was it's called?) on day 19. DTD that night. DS is 15 mo Grin

Good luck, don't give up.

And calm down, you'll drive yourself bonkers.

Signet2012 · 10/11/2011 21:37

Oh good

I may have a few more days then perhaps. Ill try doing it mid afternoon now Im on my hols from work and see if that works.

I know Im being stupid but I just cant shake the feeling something is wrong.

Pessimistic sod I am.

I think ov sticks take a while to get used to. I believe midday is the best time to test. Personally I think it's very easy to miss. I think sometimes it only lasts a couple of hours.

whereismywine · 11/11/2011 09:40

I don't use them anymore, been ttc a year and they stressed me out. But in the height of my ttc mentalling I tested three times a day - nothing in morning, dark positive mid afternoon, fading by eve. Observing cm is useful. But, my friend never found a positive and got pregnant third month. Try try not to worry, the odds are all in your favour.

LauraM20 · 11/11/2011 10:00

This happened to me for 3 months in a row and then last month, i finally got a smiley face on the ovulation stick! I was so happy, but just as confused as you are! Still am really, not sure why I didnt get a smiley face for the other 3 months, when i spoke to the nurse she said to just make sure you are having sex on day 8, 10, 12, 14 and 16 regardless of what your stick says and that should do the trick xxx

They don't work for everyone. I know mine are positive when the line is almost as strong as the control line because that's as strong as they ever get, but that's not a "proper" positive according to the leaflet, and it doesn't happen every month - however, I chart and I know that I do ovulate even when the sticks don't show.

Also I have a 31 day cycle and didn't OV til CD19 this month, so you might just not have hit OV day yet :)

brettgirl2 · 12/11/2011 10:20

I used i/c opks for a month with no positive result. I then used a cbfm and got peaks and conceived in the second month using it. Try not to worry as someone else said it is easy to miss the surge.

BroodyHell · 12/11/2011 12:26

I use the digital Clearblue ones with the smiley face.

I test twice a day, once at 2pm and again at 6pm
