Positive test, then negative test, WTF?

Has anyone had that happen and then later on got a positive test again? I'm starting to think I've had a chemical pregnancy.

I have PCOS, so nothing is very regular, but I've used Fertility Friend and been temping off and on for about 5 years and have a lot of data. Luteal phase normally only 11 days, recently it's been as low as 9 days.

I'm using the dipstick tests off the internet. Took one first thing yesterday morning and got a faint positive. Then took one again today (first thing again) at 12dpo and it is most definitely negative, I have squinted at it from every angle. I know I didn't imagine that positive, I have photographic evidence!

Is there any hope at all?

ah cheers for the reply Lenin, I was feeling all neglected and stuff. Grin

Just in a bit of a limbo really, I suppose I'll know one way or another in the next few days. I ordered some more tests but they haven't arrived, so can't test again tomorrow.

Unless I send DH out for one from the 24 hour Tesco. Or go myself in my pajamas.

yep, read it within 5 minutes as on the instructions. My first pregnancy, the test looked very similar but even more faint. That one DH wouldn't even admit there was a line. This time he could see it. Hang on, if I can get the pic from my phone can you tell me if it looks like an evap line?

you can see it!?! yay! I honestly thought you'd come back and tell me 'stop being so daft, woman'.

I honestly don't get it, so what was with the negative test this morning? both were FMU, though I think yesterday I felt a bit more dehydrated and it seemed more concentrated (TMI, and probably wishful thinking).

Ah fuck it, I'm off to Tesco. No sign of AF or spotting or anything. Then I will go to sleep and hope for a positive test in the morning. Sod's law says I'll be pregnant just before I have a load of tests delivered from the internet!

I charted for 3 years before 1st pregnancy, miscarried, charted for a few more months until DS, then started again in February this year. Not always TTC, just trying to work out what my body was doing. If I listened to the fertility consultant I'd have thought I wasn't ovulating, but I know from charting that I am, just not every month.

Also, I like data Grin

YankNCock · 08/11/2011 08:52

DH managed to persuade me not to go last night, so instead I peed in a cup first thing this morning and went to the local shop as soon as they opened. Bought Asda cheapies and Clearblue Digital and did one of each.

Both positive!!!! Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
