Morning ladies
Bit of history - I mc in may at 11 weeks after ttc for 4 years - ever since my periods have been a day or 2 late. I've not really been ttc as the mc throes me and I've been just getting on with college etc... But we still not using anything. I am now 5 days bloody late and have done 2 tesco digital and 1 regular test and all bfn. The only time ever in my life I have missed periods is when pregnant. So I really want to know what the blazes my body thinks its doing to my head lol

What else could 5 days late mean??? I'm panicking that at 36 I've started menopause aaaarrrggghhhhhh need this like I need a hole in the head 😒

Hi there.

Really sorry to hear about your miscarriage.
I'm not an expert, but it does sound like possibly the length of your cycle has started to vary after your m/c, this can happen when you come off the pill as your hormones settle back down. If your periods are always 'a day or two late' then they're not late, your cycle has just got longer, iyswim?

Toni Weschler's book, Taking Charge Of Your Fertility is excellent and really good at explaining all this stuff. You might find charting your cycles to pinpoint ovulation helps you feel more in control of it all.

It must be really frustrating being 5 days late but it's possible you didn't ovulate til later in your cycle, which means that a) you might be pg and it won't show up yet or b) not this time and AF is on its way. Don't panic yet, there's loads of reasons your cycles could be a little bit wonky!

Hi there. Love the name by the way.
Sorry to hear you've had such a tough time. I agree with quod, it could be down to the mcs. I sympathise, I just had a weird cycle, sent me a bit batty. I'd suggest trying a more sensitive test like a first response or a superdrug test.
The other thing to consider is that it may be an anovulatory cycle. Most women have the odd one in a year. I suspect that I just had one. Af was late and then light when it did turn up. If it's still bfn and no af next week or if you get stomach pain, I'd seek medical attention.

thanks quod - i really dont know where i am right now - i was desperate for another child but after the mc i was in 2 minds - i have 1ds 12 and 1dd 6 + 2 ss 12+14 and as much as i would love another child, the house isnt very big and now my daughter is growing up we can see the horizon of kids off our hands, time for oh and me on our own etc... i also want to train as a midwife and immediately after mc i was accepted on an access course and am now loving meeting new people learning new things and looking forward to hopefully going to uni next september which is another reason why having another baby now is insane. however, ive always wanted a big family, i have little family and always wanted the big family xmas with my brood coming home etc... and the thought of never being pregnant again or breastfeeding, or snuggling a baby or watching htem smile makes me heart break!!!

i am still emotional over the mc especially as i would be 36 weeks now and taking maternity leave and would have a gorgeous newborn at christmas but i am so torn over whether to give myself a few months (until uni decisions come out) of trying hard peeing on stick etc... or whether to give it up try and count my blessings and send hubbie for the snip to save myself from torture!!!!

damn my stupid body if it had done what it was told i would have had another 2 babies by now!!!!
