initial fertility and sa results.
I'm expecting that the problem will be my eggs, I'm nearly 42.
But my periods are still regular and I get the LH surge most months.
If there is a problem with DH's sperm he will probably spiral into a depression, so will have to manage that
Can anyone tell me the levels to expect with everything?
It all seemed very clear at our initial consultation but it was that long ago that I've forgotten it all now!
Thanks

Have one DS who is 4, and have had 2 v early miscarriages, so conception is possible.

What did the doctor say about the results Witchy? If you're still ovulating, there's still hope I would think...

witchyhills · 03/11/2011 18:54

Well he wants to do the dye thing, see if my tubes are ok, then we decide if we go for injections to increase egg production, then depending on results, we go for iui or ivf.
Didn't seem very positive, I'm not very happy with the clinic, we've spent £1000 for not many tests, the hycosy is another £400
I just feel like it's just procedures and money to them

I thought the consultant was a bit off, I dont really understand it all, and I now have to look it all up, no reading material

No talk about ovulation, no tests, they are just going by me saying I have seen the LH surge with ovulation kits

Hi witchyhills

Sorry to hear this all sounds confusing and upsetting. And excuse my ignorance but what would be an ideal AMH given your age? Was this result normal?

Is it possible you could talk to your GP about getting further tests?

I too have DS and am now just turned 40 and struggling for pg2. DP is patient but I can't imagine him enjoying possible SA and not sure what we'd do with results of tests as we have both agreed that we don't want to go IVFtastic. (Though understand why people do.)

I too get v regular smiley faces (LH) - is there other tests they can do to check ov? I thought the d21 progesterone test was the best?

hth

0-3.07 is very low/undetectable, so I guess it's only just there.
Tbh I thought he said 4.8, it wasn't until I got home and looked at the printouts that I realised exactly how low.
That's it, that's all I have
I think I will talk to GP, she actually sent me for other hormone tests, and sent me on day 25? Not got those results yet
I feel so stupid about all if this, I just don't know enough
They reckon that yes I'm still ovulating but the eggs are just so low quality that they are never going to fertilise
I've just been back over my list for the last 3 years(went through old diaries) and we really have had plenty of sex at the right time.
I'm so pissed off

Well - I feel for you and imagine that you are v pissed off. And am getting very emotional myself and feel clock is really ticking. Seriously wish I'd been in the right relationship earlier in life and so envious of friends who are 'sorted' with big families. But we should count our blessings that we both have at least one child?

I am trying acupuncture and herbs - you could look into this but could be an expensive uphill battle to improve quality of eggs.

Good luck on your journey.

Thanks
Yes I keep telling myself I'm lucky to have DS, he is adorable

witchy sorry to hear your news, have a talk to gp or phone the clinic and speak to nurse or dr again.
beangrower AMH is an indicator of ovarian reserve and so quality. Can be done on NHS but some gp's unaware of the test. Day 21 progesterone or more correctly done 7 days before period due tells you if you ovualate. How long have you been ttc. If 6/12 see gp. Beware herbs care are sending out a warning that they are getting unexpected poor results with chinese medicines. Would be worth having tests to know what is going on and there are some things you can do to mildly improve sperm etc. Good luck
