Hi,

I have been prescribed met for pcos and was wondering how long it would take for some sort of menstrual cycle to return?!

Ive had 3 periods in 16 months, one induced by provera and the others au naturale (although that meant a 100+ cycle and this one i'm on cd 60ish!)

I had 90-100 day cycles and was prescribed Metformin. After one week, I had 7 days of spotting followed by 7 days of period (i remember it was hard to tell the difference, but that was where I felt the dividing line lay). Then two weeks of patchy sporting. Then 10 days of heavier flow. Then a week of nothing. Then a few days of period. Then a 28 day cycle. Then a 35 day one. Then into a sort of pattern.

Good luck with it!

Patchy spotting, I meant. Though there was some sporting in between all that as well :)

Mine was quite quick at getting me a 30 day cycle. I'm not 100% sure but am sure it was by the 2nd month! I had a totally irregular cycle too. It can stil go a bit iffy at times but never longer than 45 days!
