big uterus and fibroids :(

Hello everyone, this is my first post, but I have been stalking this topic for a couple of months now. I have a question, maybe not a question, but just want to talk and get some advise.

I stopped the pill in August, had two periods since.

Now I am supposed to be having my period in next few days or so. However, I have panful boobs, pain in the back back, mild fever (got it checked and no infections) and extreme tiredness. Few days ago i went to the doc because of the fever and pain and they did an ultrasound and they said that my uterus was getting too big and then the doctors said that there was some kind of a "thing" in the uterus. they said it could just be changes that come with pregnancy or I may have fibriod tumour. Now I am so worried!

Does anyone know if your uterus expands as early as the 2nd week of pregnancy or if anything can be visible in the womb at such early stage? And if I do have the fibroid stuff how does that impact me having kids.

I live out of the country so can't count much on the medical advise from doctors. I am hoping to be back in London mid December and see a doctor then.

Have you done a pregnancy test? If you're period is due it should be accurate. The fever might be unrelated.

I have did a test earlier today and it was negative. If I am pregnant iI should be only under 2 weeks in. I am waiting for few more days and then will do another test. arch....wish it was pregnant/not pregnant instead or pregnant/not pregnant with fibroids.

I have fibroids, there are three types 1-grows in the uterus wall, they make the uterus bumpy and can affect periods make them heavier (these the type I have. 2- they grow in the womb out of the wall lining, they are the ones that will most effect your chances of pg. 3- ones that grow on the outside of the womb and kind of poke in.

Fibroids I have been told can grow while you are on the pill, also they grow during pg, its to do with the hormones. They are not life threatening but they can get big and make you look pg when your not.

The fibroids I have got big while I was pg and made it hard for me to feel the babies movements and also I ended up with red degeneration where the blood supply is not enough for the fibroid and it starts to die (very painful)

Best thing to do is to find out what type of fibroid it is. And then try and do something about it, I have heard that being over weight can be a problem. You can have the ones that grow inside the womb removed, and I have heard stories that this is fine for future pgs.

Did the doc tell you what type you had?

sorry mis-read you post. If it does come out that you have fibroids then find out what type you have.

I have fibroids. They are really quite common and are often pretty harmless and will have no ill effect on your chances of getting pg or having a "normal" pregnancy.

My fibroids are quite "extreme". They are very large and there are lots of them. They didn't really effect my pregnancies (apart from making my bump massive !).

I second making the bump look huge when I was 28 weeks I measured 36! But as the baby moved it went back down again and that was all to do with the fibroids, they used to make it hard for the ultrasound to see anything.
