after pregnancy and giving birth, my cycle has reverted back to the usual (which has always been the same as my mums), will it be the same after a miscarriage? what are others experiences?

Hello, sorry you are going through this.

I had a miscarriage in jan and the first af took 9 weeks to come. After the first one the cycles got shorter and but still not back to my regular of 30 days. The last one was 35 days and the one before was 29 days, which is a real pain when trying to concieve. I think everyone is different though I know some peoples went back to normal after the first cycle. Hope this helps x

After my mmc I had no periods only a day of spotting on and off over the next 10 months until i conceived again, only had one af after stopping breast feeding dd at 15 months and fell pregnant again.

So no, my periods didn't return back to normal, I have no idea if they will after this baby is born! I only seem to bleed during pregnancy Hmm

Doctor did say after mc is can take up to 6 months to get your regular cycle back

I had an early m/c in July 2010. 15 months on and my clockwork 28 day cycle has never returned. It is now around 25 days long and i even had a 21 day cycle a few months ago. My GP has said things can get reset after a m/c.

I've had two mcs this year. The natural one at 12 weeks involved a lot of bleeding, a weird first proper period bang on time (am usually 29-32 days) and then normal after that. After an ERPC in august I had a very light and clotty (sorry!) first one and the second was very heavy. All in time though. Sorry you're going through this. In my experience of talking to a lot of people who have had mcs, most go back to normal after one cycle.

I got 3-4 extra days on my average cycle length, going from 26 days to 29/30 days.

I had a m/c in may and it took 8 weeks for my periods to return. I have had one short cycle and 3 long cycles. I used to have a 29 day cycle for the last 10 years or so.... now it has increased to 30-33 day cycle.

I had a mc in march. Cycles returned in approx 7 weeks- back to regular 28 days. However, the past two have diminished to 24 days, and the two before that to 25. This cycle, am on cd 25- BFN with FMU, no sign of af either. OPKs had predicted ovulation on cd 9. So am 15/16 dpo. Very very confused Sad

I had a mmc in sept 2010. Pre pg cycle was 30 days. 1st af after mmc and ERPC came after 7 weeks, then each one got slightly shorter, finally settling to 34 days after about 9 months. Still 34 days now. Actually just had a second mc this week so god knows where my cycle is at now!

Hi

I had ERPC on 17 Sept last year after MMC. took 5 weeks for first period, 2nd arrived 2 wks 4 days later and then I had to wait almost 9 weeks for 3rd. 4th was 4 weeks 3 days, 5th 2 weeks 3 days, next 3 weeks 6 days and then seemed to settle into every 21 days give or take a couple of days. This cycle threw complete spanner in the works by taking 5 weeks 3 days.

Everyone is different but I feel slightly envious of all who slip back into regular cycles :-(. Prior to MC I was a nice 28 day cycle .......

Doesn't make trying for a baby very easy and I have now bought a CB fertility monitor in the hope it makes things a bit easier and a BBT to start charting. Seems very mechanical and processed after having DS in 2007 :(
