So myself and my husband have finally decided to take the plunge & go for it. I am taking my last pill tonight & then we're going for it. I am so excited, it's all I can think about. Can't wait to get aunt flo over & done with so that we can get down to business. I am armed with ovulation tests so that we can increase our chances, however after 12 years on the pill I am terrified that it may take me ages to get back to normal.
Anyhow, I just thought I would send this message out in case there is anyone else out there who is just about to start their adventure too & would like to go through the highs & lows together. I fear if I don't find an outlet for my emotions I may drive my husband & friends to insanity.
Just so you know a bit about me; I'm 28 & this will be the first time I have TTC.
Hope to hear from other ladies in the same position.
Good luck to everyone. Xx

P.S apologies for typos, I am writing this on my phone.

Hey :) I'm in a similar situation. I'm 20 and was on pill from 16-19 and came off just before my 20th bday in June. My cycles were always regualar before pill and now they a bit up and down. We are TTC for the first time and I can't stop thinking about babies. Working with 2-5 year olds makes me broody and I get so scared that one or both of us won't be able to make babies. I know my husband scared of infertility. We both are very healthy so fingers crossed. I also need a friend to talk to and his sis in law not who I want to be telling to be perfectly honest and I don't want to drive him mad either. xx

Nice to hear from you both. It's so great having a place to talk endlessley about all the highs and lows of TTC without feeling like you are boring everyone to tears. Plus, i don't know about you guys but we have decided not to tell anyone that we are trying so that there isn't a constant barrage of questions. I figure if it takes a while then i'm not going to want people asking me "are you pregnant yet?" all of the time.

Thanks for the advice Sparkle. I thought of waiting until my body had settled down but didn't want to miss out on the fertility surge that some women get when coming off the pill. I will definately be on the look out for phantom symptoms though.

Sending fertile thoughts your way!

Hello everyone,
I started TTC in August as i came off the pill. This month I feel like my body is totally pill effect free and feel like I will get pregnant. I am checking in a week or so. Fearing compulsive testing I used the only tester I had this am, negative obviously as too early, and have vowed not to buy any until am at least a week late.
We though we wouldn't tell anyone but already told several close friends etc...
Hate the wait!

Hi warzone!

Very impressed with your will power not to test until a week over due. I'm not sure i would be so good. I fear i may become slightly obsessed with testing, having already bought a few tests and we haven't even started trying yet. Good luck with your results when you do POAS. Keep us posted with the results. xx

Good question Sparkle. It would be good to know what people are doing whilst TTC. I am taking pregnant care vitamins that include the RDA of folic acid. I have cut out caffeine but not alcohol yet, i'm going to do that after AF has been and gone. My lifestyle is pretty active as i am a dance teacher, but am currently on crutches due to tearing my calf muscle, but should be back to dancing in about 4 - 6 weeks. As for diet, i think it's fairly average - pretty healthy during the week but with a cheeky takeaway or meal out at the weekend.
What's everyone else doing? Is there anything i should be doing that i haven't thought of?

Oh I am relieved to have found this. We are starting to TTC this month, well not so much ttc as no longer trying not to. I imagine this wont last long and I will be frantically testing etc within months. I hadn't really thought about makin glifestyle changes - as I am pretty healthy, eat well and exercise everyday anyway.

What are pre-natal vitamins, I was told to take folic acid by my doctor are there other things I should be taking as well?

Good luck everyone

Welcome to the club TTCandterrified! I was told by my doc to start taking folic acid too but when i went to buy it there was all these pregnant care vitamins which also contained the folic acid your body needs, so i figured it would be good to give my body the vitamins too. In fact, i'm not sure if i even seen folic acid on its own, although i only bought mine from superdrug, maybe you can get pure folic acid from somewhere like Holland & Barret. Sorry that probably wasn't the most helpful answer, this is all new to me!

Hello all,
I'm brand new to MN and thought I'd introduce myself. I've been reading the forums for a while now and have found them incredibly useful.

My husband and I have decided to take the plunge and have started TTC. We got married earlier this year and this is the next big step for us. I have had previous mc's so am not expecting a smooth ride but feel I have enough love and support around me to help me through should the worst happen.

So far I have started to make preparations by giving up smoking, taking Sanatogen pregnancy vitamins, adjusting my diet so it is healthier and I had an operation a few weeks ago to remove scar tissue from my womb.

I am very excited but nervous also. I am open to any suggestions or tips and I look forward to sharing this journey with other MNers.
