Sorry to see your tests didn't go as planned carrie & amanda. how frustrating after your dreams carrie but you still have the weekend til your test date so hopefully it's just that you have tested early.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you all

ilikeyoursleeves · 20/10/2011 10:59

Well done carrie on resisting the tests. I think I am going to retest at lunchtime cos I do not feel pg at all plus when I looked at the tests I'd done, the lines of the more recent ones were lighter than the older ones so I'm now stressing myself about a chemical pregnancy!

My ebay tests won't be here til the weekend so think I'll go out on my lunch break today & poas in tesco. Argh

BreeVanDerTramp · 20/10/2011 11:18

Ohh, can I join please? I am due tomorrow, already poas on Tuesday evening to get a BFN so sure this is not the month for me due to period pains looming. However I am still holding out some hope as poas 5 days early in the evening is akin to peeing on a tenner really isn't it?

Congratulations sleeves - the same thing happened to me with DS I tested the day I was due as I was going out that night and didn't want to drink incase I was pregnant, got a BFN went out and got sloshed then when I opened the bin the next day a BFP was staring back at me Blush

nearlymumofone · 20/10/2011 11:57

ilike try not to stress, I did 5 tests Blush when pg with ds I there was a mixed bag with some lines fainter than others, but in no particular order. And I didn't 'feel' pg either, not till I'd put on about 4 stone!!

Amanda29 · 20/10/2011 14:04

Still trying again sat as no sign of af yet an cramps have died down, anyone know what's the best/most sensitive brand? I usually buy asda or tescos own x

carriedababi · 20/10/2011 16:06

thanks for the praise for not testing!

how did you get on poas in tescos!?

my boobs have been aching yesterday and today.

amanda ithink there all pretty much a much of a muchness really, clearblue seems unpopular one here though.

scampbell84 · 20/10/2011 16:07

Hey Amanda i used cheapie tests from b and m bargains last nite and this morn and got a faint and stronger Line respectably! I then bough a clear blue digital and was told I was 1-2 wks pregnant. Gd luck x

Amanda29 · 20/10/2011 20:03

Congrats Scampbell :) (jealous haha!) I got first response so will see how I go sat am x

ilikeyoursleeves · 20/10/2011 20:10

I tested again at lunchtime with First Response, hiding in Tesco loo, and it was another BFP, a strong line this time! So I now feel reassured that it is really a BFP :) Getting a bit scared at the prospect of 3 kids under 5 but I can do it! (Hopefully...)

Carrie, good luck for tomorrow, hopefully your sore boobs are a good sign.

Re tests, stay clear of the one that shows a cross rather than a line (Clearblue?). I got a faint positive with that a few months ago and it was so disheartening. Apparently it's really common with them to get false positives. I highly rate First response.

Good luck to Breevandetramp, Amanda and anyone else testing over the next few days!

ilikeyoursleeves · 20/10/2011 20:12

false positive even, not faint positive!

Amanda29 · 20/10/2011 20:19

Ahh congrats again Sleeves looks like I'd a definate yes for you :) can bet I'll test get my bfn and then come on! We shall see! x

horseylady · 20/10/2011 20:21

Hi!! Never posted here before BUT been TTC for abour 12 months each month disappointed.......now 2 days late (can be a bit irregular but usually around 30days - now at day 32), and I've got a brown discharge (TINY amount) and cramps.....I never get period pains. I feel like I'm due and keep going to the loo but nothing....too nervous to test just yet as always been BFN....

carriedababi · 20/10/2011 20:26

Amanda29 · 20/10/2011 20:31

horseylady that's exactly like me, came off the pill in march and been trying since, disheartening as I know so many who (apparently) just 'fell' pregnant by accident of whilst on the pill. Makes me wonder if I had been less careful my whole life would I be in the same positon? I generally have a 35 day cycle and will be a week late on 21st if af hasn't arrived by then, had cramping last week along with what looked like ewcm and cramping early this week but seems to have died down today. Things were very stressful for me the last month though so could have screwed up my cycle a bit, fingers crossed for you! x

horseylady · 20/10/2011 20:32

No idea!! I want to say I'm not thinking about it but it's all I'm thinking about!!! I start work at 7 tomorrow, so could maybe get one later in the day but you're supposed to test in the morning?? Might just wait till Monday.....will probably have started by then anyway so I don't know why I'm even thinking about it lol

horseylady · 20/10/2011 20:35

Amanda - I came off the pill 4 years ago lol but we have been 'actively' trying for about 12 months. Saying that life has been massively stressful this last few months and like you I have friends who 'fell' pregnant.....everyone around me as well!! Trying not let it be the be all and end all......

Amanda29 · 20/10/2011 21:08

Yeah same here :) its hard though listening to the whole 'I don't know how its happened' when ur trying, I mean we're not being anal about trying just doing it more when we think I'm ovulating, I think if this is a negative I'll start temping and see how that goes, I could be ovulating late for all I know x

horseylady · 20/10/2011 21:18

yeah I've bought the digital hormone thing by clear blue, which I will start using this time.....then it'll be a visit to the GP I guess......:( probably should do that now really after 12 months.....

witchyhills · 21/10/2011 08:39

Good luck ladies, I'm done for this month.
Would be delighted to hear good news from all of you. X

BreeVanDerTramp · 21/10/2011 09:08

Sorry witchy I think I will be joining you today, af due and will probably turn up by lunchtime. Boobs are sore but have pmt also so conflicting symptoms. If no luck this month am going to give it a break for a while. We are really lucky to have two DS but they took ages to conceive and inbetween mc af will be my signal to get relax over Christmas drink lots of mulled wine

Any good news this morning? Good luck to carrie and anyone else testing today!

carriedababi · 21/10/2011 09:32

omg omg, i THINK i can see the worlds fainest line, did the test this am, no line came up straigght away, went back to bed for asnooze.
then looked at it, and i think i can see a really faint line.

i couldnt get dh too look aty it too, as hes interviewing 9 people today and i know hes got a tough ay so didnt want to effect his work day, ill ask him to look at it tonoght to see if he can see a line.

meeting a friend for lunch today, ive already spoke to heron the phone, and shes goign to look at the test to see f she can see the line too, as im scared im imagining it.

tried to take a photo of the test to upload on here to show you guys but my camera is not good enpugh to take such close up photos.

i can't stop starring at the test.

i'll update ypu afetr lunch and tell you what my friend thinks.

so sorry for that af got you this am witchy, and good luck to you still this month bree and everyone else.

shall i go to the shop and buy some clearblue digital?
is a early test more liekly to show up on a normal dip test then on a clearblue digital?

i don't know what to do with myself

OP posts:
ilikeyoursleeves · 21/10/2011 12:26

Oh carrie! I really hope it's a line! In my experience when there is no line, there really is no line, so if you think there is one that probably means there is! If that makes any sense.... Maybe do another one tomo am? What brand did you do? Try a first response, I think they are good.

Oooooo I'm so excited for you ill keep everything crossed

carriedababi · 21/10/2011 13:57

well i'm back from lnch out, my friend, who is actually a dr, said yes theres definatley something there!.
and im not imagining it.

she said she always tells people a line however faint means its positive because theres no other way that hormione can be in your body.

but she told me to do another test tomorrow to hoefully get a stronger line.

i asked her how certain she was that it was positive and that i am pg she said at least 95%, but to do another test tomorrow

so i bought 2 clearblue digital as that was all i could get in the area i was.
and i have 1 cheap bodycare test.
couldnt get hold of a first response.

so torrow am im doing the clearblue digital, then the cheapie one.

will update tommorow.

for some random reason i just peed on an ovulation strip as i read on line you can you them for pg tests, and it came up with a good strong line
and my boobs are really really aching to the point walking down the stairs is a bit painful.

really really hope this is it.

trying to stay calm but can't help thinking whooohooo
