Acupuncture in 2ww

Hi,

I've been having acupuncture every couple of weeks since my m/c. It's really helping me regulate my cycles and relax.

I have been reading conflicting advice though about having acupuncture in the 2ww. I usually have one session just after AF, and one a few days after ov.

Does anybody have any advice on this? My acu guy still puts the needles in my stomach in the 2ww? He isn't a specialist acupuncturist but does seem to know his stuff and talks about women he has helped with pregnancies.

Also, did you / would you carry on with the sessions once you'd got a bfp?

Thanks, Pie

I had acupuncture throughout the month I conceived DD. Needles mostly in my ankle though! I would expect to have it in the 2ww tbh

I have it in the 2ww sometimes too ( we are trying different things, sometimes supporting the first half of the cycle, sometimes trying to balance hormones throughout, etc). I can't remember if she puts the needles in my abdomen then or just my legs and head.

I normally have them in my ankles, calves, wrist, knees and abdomen. He puts them in the same place each visit but I always tell him where I am in my cycle.

It's quite addictive though and I usually fall asleep!

He has been concentrating on increasing my blood flow to the uterus recently. I had a scan yesterday at the fertility clinic and she said my lining was lovely and thick :) I was so chuffed!

How much are you all paying for it btw?

PieMistress · 13/10/2011 12:07

£38 a session? No idea how that fares across the board though

Mine is £42 a month. I imagine it depends on where you live as I am sure in London you would pay a premium. I usually have 2 sessions a month.

Robotindisguise · 13/10/2011 13:42

Ah ok, mine was £40 a couple of years ago so pretty average - just curious

Robotindisguise · 13/10/2011 13:43

Oh hang on, just re-read Lig's - obviously it does vary
