Bit of help for a newbie?!

I have only been ttc for 6 months now, but thought this month I would try the ovulation sticks, I follwed the instructions and did it on day 13, 14, 15 and 16. Every day it says I am not ovualting, not im really worried and wish I hadnt done it! Am i right in thinking if i dont ovulate I cant get pregnant and what if I never ovulate? Would really welcome any advice

Laura how long are your cycles and how often to you take a test?

I tend to take upto 3 some days, because you can miss the surge if you are only testing once a day. Do you chart CM/CP and BBT? Taking your temp will let you know that ov has occured (but can't predict it) and your temp will usually drop the day of ov and then rise (it has to rise for 3 days to confirm ov and the temps must be higher than the previous 6 prior to ov).

Obviously if you are not ov'ing then yes, you can't get pg - but it could just be a case that you have not ov'd yet or you have missed the surge.

I didn't think I was ovulating at one point. I bought and now always recommend this book It helps you recognise your fertile signs, gives advice on opks and charting.
Fwiw, I have a 25-29 day cycle and I usually ovulate by cd13 at the latest so it may just be you missed your peak. It depends on the sticks too. I've never had a positive with the cheap ones (true of many mnetters).
