Evening all

Baby - hope all is ok. Thinking of you. i have completely stopped feeling sick all of a sudden so begin to think the worst. Got GP next week so will sit it out. I am sure normal sick service will resume shortly.

Wellies - i completely understand your wish to get back to it. I had a mmc but there wa still some left over and had to have eprc (not sure if those letters are right but you know what i mean) 2 weeks later. Do wait for your bfn before you get going just to be sure.

Well i have had a lovely day we went for lunch and my lovely DP had invited all my family along. so about 30 of us for lunch. It brought a tear to my eye. I felt we had to tell them our news as I couldn't face a thing to eat and that is most odd for me. Lets hope this one sticks this time. Although valued their support last time.

Monday already I have the day off tomorrow only 3 days then off for half term. Can't get to next fri quick enough hope everyone had a good weekend

Poppyjen · 17/10/2011 08:31

BlueCrane · 17/10/2011 09:15

Morning all... baby how are you doing this morning? the advice re. Hcg levels sounds good!

martha Smile at the new name, hope the metalling not too bad!! And you too shimmery, 2ww and pebs !

wellies think it took me 4.5 weeks after ERPC to get a BFN...it's about the only time you'll actually will it not to show two lines, but worth doing for peace of mind. We did DTD during that time but with protection...the first time after the MC/ERPC can bit pretty tough emotionally so worth getting that over with when you feel ready as well.

farfalla sorry to hear about AF

eve do you fancy moving yourself on the stats??

Right, must get on with some work! Catch up again later!!

MarthasHarbour · 17/10/2011 09:37

morning ladies - just realised i didnt give a warm welcome to wellies and 2weekwwonder Smile

farfalla that is good news re AF (i am being positive here) as at least you have somewhere to start from as you say that you werent trying this month. Onwards and upwards!

how is baby this morning i wonder Hmm

OK so - i have no AF yet. Today is DDay. It is the day where i start out all excited and hopeful then go home feeling all Sad I am CD26 and 15DPO. I am going to do a quick check to last month but i am sure i got AF on 15DPO. So - no news yet but it is touch and go!!

My colleague has returned to work today, she had a MC a few months ago, i went over and gave her a big hug and she told me the reason she was off. I secretly guessed but i offered her all the support from me that she required. It was quite emotional Smile but she looks so well.

Will bob on later to see how you all are

MarthasHarbour · 17/10/2011 09:40

i was CD27 and 15DPO (stupid bint that i am - it is in the OP! Wink )

farfallarocks · 17/10/2011 10:05

martha that sounds very promising indeed!
How nice for your colleague to have someone to speak to. There is a girl in my office who has had 2 MCs (and now has 2 lovely DC) and is always checking how I am feeling, its lovely to have someone who understands, as much as I wish no one would be in this situation!

Thanks for the chocolate blue

BlueCrane · 17/10/2011 10:32

Hang in there martha you've done so well waiting this long without POAS!! Thinking lots of PMA thoughts for you and hoping our less-than-favourite-aunt doesn't come to visit in the next 24 hours!!!

MarthasHarbour · 17/10/2011 11:38

Thanks blue

No AF but creamy CM - trying not to metal too much but lets just say the Metallica Black Album is on full throttle!! I am truly not testing till Friday now, i say this because in August i tested on CD26 and got a BFP and by Monday CD29 it was coming away Sad sooooo Friday will be CD30 and i should be out of the woods by then.

who-am i kidding i am sooo testing earlier

ShimmeryPixie · 17/10/2011 12:06

Martha - love the name. I'll see your stinking cold and raise you a chesty cough. I'm taking today off as a result. My throat makes a delightful wheezing sound when I breathe.

Baby - hang in there - I've got my fingers crossed. I hope it is OK today - I know I was told that a bit of bleeding is fairly normal (though unhelpful for anyone who has had a MC).

Hello to wellies - welcome. Sorry you had to join us, but you are among friends. I use OPKs at the moment (though I've got everything pinpointed now - but then my cycle is very very regular). I won't be buying another box, but i can see it would be worth it if I was not so regular.

Congrats to blue for cooking, even if your DH failed to listen! You do have a busy week ahead.

Pie - the temption to test is there and growing stronger, but I know my cycle well, and if AF is coming she'll show tomorrow. I will therefore hold out until Wednesday (but no longer).

farfallarocks · 17/10/2011 12:13
MandaHugNKiss · 17/10/2011 13:45

far some of us are definitely not as disciplined as you would think and test crazy-lady early, like, 8dpo test before af is due. I got my bfp at 11dpo this time.

wellies speaking of testing, (oh and welcome, btw, as much as we wish you didn't have a reason to be here) I must echo what the other ladies are saying - for your own piece of mind, it's quite important to test until you get a bfn. I think mine took about three weeks post erpc. It a) saves the angst of you testing for the first time four weeks after the mc and getting a bfp that may easily be left over hcg fromt he mc and b) assures you that everything is moving in the diorection it should - that is to say, if you're still getting 'decent' bfp's two/three weeks down the line that aren't getting lighter then it's probably safe to say you have something retained. But good to hear you already have a scan booked to check that anyway.

martha (DD went to primary school with a Martha, and so I picture her everytime I read your new moniker) I don't think your CD is as relevant as your DPO count... and I KNOW why you're hesitant to test before, say, friday, but come on woman - if you haven't come on by tomorrow then you're kinda gonna 'know' anyway even without a peestick to tell you. Your lp is 14 days, with af arriving on day 15 and... ok, ok, I'll stop being a POAS-pusher. How's, uh, your cold? (I forgot to mention that I also had a sore throat/snuffly nose around the time of bfp and for a little while afterwards. So add me to the list of people confirming it as A Symptom)

blue Good luck at the dentist today! Did you get the Dr's to sort your exemption cert?

shimmery Sorry about your cough. Got my fingers crossed our favourite aunt stays away though!

baby I hope you're hanging in there. I assume you will have contacted your dr and/or epu so please do update us when you feel able. As already said, spotting is so, so common in the first few weeks but for us we're bound to think the worst. Probably two blood draws 48 hours apart will give you the best idea of how things are progressing right now so if your doctor doesn't think to do this off thier own back, then perhaps suggest it?

I have felt almost normal the last two days. Metal, metal, metal.

MarthasHarbour · 17/10/2011 13:53

manda you are making me larf! YY i know that if nothing happens tomorrow then i will 'know' but in all honesty i am a leedle bit scared.

On that note i am gonna be a bit naughty with my GP, i am going to say that my LMP was Sunday 18 September and not Thursday 22 Sept. The reason being is that Sunday 18 is two weeks before my OV date IYSWIM. That way i can also not feel like a doofus if i say to my IL's at the weekend that i am 4+1 i shall instead say that i am 5weeks....

getting-way too ahead of myself

BlueCrane · 17/10/2011 14:07

Right...back from the dentist. manda I rang the docs on Friday about the exemption cert and they said I needed to pop in, fill in the form, leave it with them for the doc to sign and then go back to pick it up Hmm this all seemed way too much hassle for a friday afternoon so I thought I'd just say it was 'in progress' today and see what happened! Well...it turns out it was a chunk of filling that fell off on friday but since that tooth is pretty much more filling that tooth Blush the dentist said that providing I have no pain I may as well leave it as it is as he won't x-ray or dig out the filling to replace (it's a nice silver one that probably had mercury in it!) while I'm pregnant and to put a temporary bit in would be pointless as it wouldn't key in properly and would no doubt fall out again v soon! So I still have the irritating whole in my tooth! But they also said it didn't matter that I didn't have the form yet probably because I wasn't having any expensive treatment and didn't charge me anything Smile But it does look like i could be making the most of my free dental care post LO arrival as apparently several of my fillings are looking a bit dodgy!

martha liking the cold symptoms Smile you definitely deserve chocolate too Wink

shimmery help yourself to chocolate too...and thinking PMA thoughts for you as well!!! Hope you're resting well today!

manda I seem to feel well one day and rough the next and I metal eitherway as I hate feelign sick but worry when I don't so feel your pain!

far I always had a stash of internet cheapies too to help keep me sane, though I must say seeing the word 'pregnant' on a CB digi was far more satisfying than peering at lines...but seeing 'not pregnant' on a CB digi made me feel awful and as though I'd just peed on a £5 note so the IC's did come in handy to suggest when to try a digi IYSWIM!

Right, best finish reading this document...though am sat on the sofa at home as I wasn't expecting to feel very good after the dentist if he did end up doing something to my tooth so agreed with my boss I'd work from home this afternoon. Only problem is that I feel rather sleepy so had best not drop off Blush

MarthasHarbour · 17/10/2011 14:38

So a quick update from me:

  • I puked this morning ? those people who kept telling me I would feel better after 12/14/16 weeks have clearly lied to me!!!
  • I didn?t sleep very well so feel really tired today.
  • I managed to strained hip flexor tendon at work on Friday and ended up in tears with my staff threatening to call A&E if I didn?t make a Dr?s appointment??.not a great day really!!
  • Best news is that I has a call from my cousin who is also now pg after an mmc in April ? keeping my fingers and twos crossed that this is a sticky one. Her grandmother knew before she did (she is like the best pg test ever?..she knew I was pg before I did as well) don?t ask me how she does it but she just knows!!!

To update on my sister ? as she is away from we haven?t had too many sympathy symptoms but as I?m now metalling about my 20 week scan (2nd November) she is already preparing all manner of abuse to get me through that appointment. She is also keeping me entertained because my MIL is currently obsessed with everything to do with my pregnancy??(bored face) my sister has started to refer to me as ?the vessel? ? it?s our little joke and it is definitely keeping me sane!!!

Ok seriously ? I?m getting worried ? anyone seen marathon?..i assume she hasn?t just joined another thread and not said anything but it?s a bit weird that we haven?t heard from her since her 16 week check up!!!

Our stats are also looking good?..hoping the BFP list just keeps getting longer this year!!!

So to catch up with you all:

MarthasHarbour that is going to take some getting used to as I just think of you as summer but I will try my hardest to keep up with it all as I?m a bit slow on the up take now that I am ?with child?. He is starting to feel upset about missing things but as we have a 4D booked when he comes back I think that will help things, plus my next set of doctors and midwife appointments are all on days and times that he can get to so hopefully this will help as well. Stay strong on your not testing?.it is damned hard but hopefully the wait will be worth it!!! It?s good that your colleague can come to you to talk through things ? it does help to talk about it all I think. Damn the witch got you?.i?m currently cursing her in the vilest terms on your behalf!!!

poppy fully agree that beans on toast is an amazing meal?.while my sister was away I ate sandwiches for my tea as I couldn?t bare the kitchen long enough to actually make a hot meal. Hope your managing to corner your DH for some quality time!!!

blue seems like you have a busy week ahead of you but is great that your scan has now come around. Will be thinking of you and sending you lots of lovely positive bouncy bean thoughts?..you must rush home and update us on how it all goes!!!

pebs how are you getting on?? Any OV news?? Sounds great that you will have such close monitoring next time, to be honest I think it will help a lot as they will be able to keep a good watch over everything which should help (a tiny bit) to calm your nerves.

baby I had exactly the same thing ? and I mean exactly the same (working back through my dates I figure it as) I started spotting brown blood at 5 weeks 2 days, I had my early scan at 5 weeks 4 days, bleeding continued for a week and I was totally metalling but it suddenly just stopped and haven?t had anything like it since then. The advise given by my midwife was to rest, put my feet up and don?t get over heated. If your concerned ring the midwife as they have said they will be keeping an eye on you ? maybe they can do something to help. On the subject of very early scans I saw the little shrimp thing flexing (bending and straightening) and the little white flicker of a heartbeat at 5 weeks 4 days and that was abdominal not dildo cam so you might be lucky enough to see something!!!

missg so glad your little is going strong and hope that you are feeling some kind of relief from your sickness, I feel your pain!!! How are things going for you at work? Did you have to do your presentation in the end?

wellies big welcome to the metalling crew!!! Feel for you on having to play the waiting game and yes DH?s are pesky but generally sensible with these things ? hoping it is all worth the wait for you. Mine refuses to let me fly (we lost the last one on route to our summer holiday) and he said ?I can?t go through that again, being away from home and not really speaking the language with you covered in drips ect??..it did make me cry a bit that it had affected him so much and I have to agree ? I never want to go through that again so we shall be waiting until the little baby arrives (fingers crossed March 2012) before our next abroad adventure. My HCG was tested at the time of the MC and it was below the level for pregnancy, we were told to wait and we were but a few drinks and no protection ?et voila? baby IQ was brewing before we even knew it!!!

far also welcome to you!!! Hopefully your last set of results will give you the all clear to crack on and get back on the SWI wagon. I do feel for you having to wait though, when I had a Dr?s appointment after my MC I was beside myself that I had to wait until I?d had an AF?..not that, that actually happened in the end Grin!!! St.Thomas?s was where I was born....we used to live in clapham!! I assume AF?s arrival means that your body is getting back into a rhythm. It is good that you are feeling positive (IYSWIM) about the AF as is one more done and one step closer to that BFP?..that?s what I tell my other friends who are TTC.

eve so glad to see you have joined us on the ?other side? and great to hear that things with DP and DS are much better. Very Envy of your time off but then I have a lovely girls weekend away to look forward to in november so I cant complain too much.

pie my Dr?s screen notes were something like ?has had an early MC and is very distraught???Hmm no shit sherlock!!! I?ve had many sets of thyroid tests because of my weight but apparently its close to borderline but not serious enough to warrant medical intervention. They have now decided that I have a high metabolism and so ?burn through? meals quickly ? only taken them 27 years to realise what my mother has been telling them all along!!! Oh well enough of me ? how are things progressing at your end?? Family bike ride sounds great and owl noises??brilliant!!!

twoweek so sorry to hear what you have been through but welcome to the thread!!! Any news on the metalling front??

manda currently 18 weeks 1 day so not quite half way but getting close. Metalling is reducing slightly as I believe I?m starting to feel the baby move around but then as it?s my first it could easily be wind??I do know that resting my hot chocolate on my hip is something it doesn?t enjoy and currently likes to rest behind my belly button so I look like a weird alien thing in the evenings with a nice lump in the rest of my ever growing bump!!! And yay to feelign a bit better!!

shimmery your weekend sounds hellish?hopefully tomorrow will not find us commiserating on the AF front but congratulating. Fingers crossed for you!!!

Love to everyone I?ve missed off?..and hope everyone is doing well on this Monday afternoon!!

Poppyjen · 17/10/2011 17:50

Just a quick one to say so sorry to hear about AF Martha - looks like you, me and Far will be metalling together in a few weeks Smile

I'll catch up properly later

babysaurus · 17/10/2011 18:03

HI everyone,
I am going to make this a short one as I feel sick - like I am on a ship and have been facing the wrong way, or been on a roundabout. I have to say, bizarrely, its wonderful! I was intially worried that I didn't feel sick enough (yes, it's 'metal') as some of you seem to be barfing all over the place, unable to eat / cook and so on, and I just feel a bit travel sick. In my metallinbg state, it didn't seem quite enough.
I feel loads better about things today, largely possibly due to the sickness. If I think about things too much I get all concerned anyway as MMC also gave me a full range of symptoms but as that is where madness lies I am putting it to the back of my mind.
Also, I have an appt at the hospital on Wednesday anyway so will mention it to them (may also be naughty and exaggerate a bit) and see what they suggest. While it is possible to see a heartbeat I think it may be 50/50 for a few weeks yet and think an inconclusive scan would do my head in far more than simply sitting and waiting for the time being. I am six weeks on Friday so maybe they'll suggest I go the week after or the week after that. I hope so.
In the meantime, I feel iffy and also pretty tired, and my boobs feel almost sore - more that I am aware of them rather than they 'hurt' if that makes sense...?
If the worst comes to the worst I will be upset but I am consoling myself with at least I will find out before the 12 week scan this time, and will have also had some 'warning.' I think the worst thing, last time, was finding out then in many ways but this time I am far more cynical (at least when I let myself) so are slightly more braced for nasty shocks. NOT that there will be any nasty shocks, of course... Wink Confused
Right, this screen is making me feel iffy so am heading off. Will be reading if not posting and sorry for this being a me-me-me post.
Bye for now xx

MillontheFloss · 17/10/2011 18:14

Can I join? I am TTC #1 after an August MC. This is my first cycle post ERPC (AF was early Oct) and I think I am OV atm but not sure if things are back to normal post-MC. Next AF due 30 Oct if cycle is back to my normal 28 days so in the 2ww.

Congrats to those who have their BFPs!

babysaurus · 17/10/2011 18:31

Hi MillontheFloss!
I am also pg (still, hopefully) after a MMC I had mid July.

I had a WTF cycle (I was spotting and it went on and on but didn't get heavy enough to seem like a period IYSWIM) 28 days later and then another 28 days later had a proper, heavier than normal, period. I managed to concieve that month! The reason I am telling you this is because I wanted to show that my cycles, although it didn't feel like it at the time, got back to normal almost immediately so yes, you may well be on the 2WW.

Good luck!

MarathonMama · 17/10/2011 20:44

Ouch manda that poke hurt!

Ladies, I'm so sorry for being AWOL, our laptop broke so I haven't been on t'internet much. I have tried posting twice on my phone (as I am now) but both times the blinkin thing failed. I have vaguely been keeping up though...

I won't stay for long in the hope that short and sweet means it's more likely to work but just to say a huge congrats to the new BFPs and a big welcome to the thread newbies, and oldies who've rejoined Wink

All's well with me, I'm 18 weeks now and look like a beach ball, seriously, I'm HUGE! Into maternity clothes properly and have banished my skinny jeans to the back of the wardrobe Sad I'm remembering things during the pregnancy that I'd forgotten, like the stretching pains and growth spurts. I've also started to panic about how I'm going to cope with a toddler and a newborn. Anyone got any advice???

Sending big hugs and lion bars (had one today for the first time in years, it was lush!) to all the preggers ladies and red wine laced with folic acid Hmm to those on their way...
