My mate found out she is pg 2 wks ago. Went to hosp for early scan as unsure of dates. When they scanned they couldn't see anything in sack but was something in tube unsure if it eptopic or cyst n just too early to see anything on scan she had to go back for blood test today to see if hormoane levels had risen which would indicate normal pg they had but not as much as hosp would of hoped so she has to go back on fri for another blood test if this inconculsive she has to have camera in belly button to see what happening. Has anyone heard of this sort of thing before?

Bump.... haven't heard of anything like that before, but wanted to bump your thread up. for your friend.

not heard of this but I'm pretty sure they won't put a camera in her belly button!

Very odd too if they suspect ectopic I'm sure it would be easy to find out and it's vital that they do as it can be very dangerous if the tube ruptures.

Hope she is OK.

it is a laproscopy, they put a cut in the belly button where they inflate the belly with gas, they then insert a camera through a tiny incision just on the pubic hair line, very simple procedure, day surgery, should be ok afterwards with paracetamol
I've had 3
I've also had an emergency ectopic removed as well as losing the tube.
My ectopic ruptured my tube the day after I found out I was preg, 4 days over period was due.
So was very early.

Sorry epiffany

Sorry to hear that too Epinaffy .I thought they may scan internally but she said they wanted to do laparoscopy. Maybe cos of the worry of an eptopic pg. They said if she was to have any pain at all she was to go straight in

the thing about doping laproscopy is that they can also remove the ectopic at the same time if it is contained without damaging the tube too much
I'm fine btw it was a year ago and dreadful at the time, so if she has ectopic and it is sorted this way she is very lucky - although she will not feel oucky for a while yet.
hope she is ok xxxxxxxxxxxx
