Its been a long time but ...... most women have a post ovulatory phase of approx 14 days so that'd mean that you're likely to ovulate ( and be fertile) around day 11. You can always check with a thermometer - as long as you're prepared for inaccuracies and then again you could use the predictor test kits to check the likely day. Of course there are exceptions to this generalised biology and I hope that somebody else who is ttc can come along and help. No more for me now!

hi little elf have you read any books on subject? for the novices among us (like me!) i find Zita West is very good, i have just bought another of hers called "getting pregnant". sometimes you just have to read and read and read, and then look closely at your own cycle to make any sense of it whatsover. never in a million zillion years would i have thought id get to 30 and it would suddenly become so imperitive or so important to be able to concieve a child!!!!! im also gonna start temping but like yourself im wondering if im opening a whole new can of worms! hugs to you x x

possibly a bit late.....!
They're expensive, but the kits you can get in Boots are great to pinpoint which dates to 'aim' for . I suppose some would say that it makes it a bit more clinical between the two of you although it depends on which way you want to look at it.
After DD I changed to a 24 day cycle and hadn't conceived after 6 months. Did the test and after a couple of months was expecting DS. £20 well spent I thought!

Hi little elf have a look at the thread about temping - what kind of thermometer
I put a link on there to the fertility UK website I?ll put it here too
trythis
You need to look for a rise of temperature which is at least 0.2 degrees above the rest of your temps and it may take you a couple of months to spot this especially if you have just come off hormonal contraception.
Lots of things can affect your temps ? alcohol, painkiller, stress
Are you taking notice of your cervical mucus which is also an indicator of ovulation and is easier to interpret? Info also on the link site (I?ve recommended them a lot but I don?t work for them! LOL) there are charts to download I use the one which is the ?Blank Fertility Chart - (new style)? is but I know fertilityfriend has been mentioned lots on these threads and people find it very useful
Remember everyone has a different cycle. I ov on average days16/17 for example and for most women it is usually the area of day 13-18.
Hope this is useful
Lots of luck
