I have a regular 28 day cycle, have been TTC and charting for 3 months and usually ovulate on day 18. This month I ovulated on day 20 and got a BFP! So short luteal phase gang - it maybe harder for us, but it's definitely not impossible! :) Just hoping that it sticks now.

I would recommend taking temps as this is apparently the only definitive proof that you have ovulated. And don't stop SWI until you see three days of higher temps!

OPKs from internet were a bit hit n miss and didn't detect ovulation on the month I got pregnant... weird.

Happy - my cycle used to be vaguely between 28 and 31 days (before the first) and has become shorter ever since apart from the odd blip (probably dd2!)

Tended to OV on day 20 (but could be 19 or 21), and to then have cycles that were between 29 and 32 days.

DD conceived first month, this DC2 due soon conceived second month, so it wasn't a problem for us.

thanks ladies.

mrsctobe - congratulations! thanks for your tip - so maybe i did ovulate just from the temp change then??

who knows??! it's a bit of a minefield. I was supposed to be charting for a few months anyway as we had agreed to try the timing method to see if we could conceive a girl. We would love another child regardless but a mixed family is our dream. (I know people might judge me but that's a whole other issue!!!)

Will just keep on with the trusty thermometer!!
