Results of blood test

Hi everyone,
This is my first message on the forum.
I've been TTC for over a year now and went to see my GP for some standard blood tests. This afternoon I phoned up for the results and it seems I have high peptide hormone. I've got to make another appointment with the GP to investigate further. It's left me quite worried. Does anyone know what it could mean?

Hi Rachel, I haven't heard of that before but did a quick google and it seems that's linked to insulin resistance? So nothing sinister but might be affecting your blood sugar levels? Someone who knows more will probably be able to tell you more but didn't want you to be worrying!

Thanks for putting a smile on my face munki. I guess I'll just have to wait until I see the GP to put my mind at rest.

I believe insulin resistance can be a symptom of pcos but would only be diagnosed in conjunction with many other tests/scans. Do you find it difficult to lose weight?

I have pcos and afaik my blood glucose is normal and I am a normal weight, however if I gain weight (say a stone) my periods stop for 3 months.

Remember pcos is a syndrome i.e a collection of symptoms some of which can be absent and that apparently lots of women have cysts on the ovaries but never have a problem concieving or any other symptoms.

I saw a doctor to discuss the blood test results.
All my blood tests were fine apart from my prolactin level which was slightly high and my progestogen day 21 was 13.
I had AF a day after my blood test - the blood test was on day 23 (due to the weekend) and I'm usually 27 days. However, that month I had to be 24 days!
Will be re-tested next month. Hopefully the dates skewed things and the figures will be different next time.
I'm glad I saw the GP as I was worrying about the results.
