Struck out this month...anyone care to join me on the June 2012 bus?

OP posts:
LydiaTheTattoedLady · 22/09/2011 20:37

Thanks LouLou.
I don't think YOU guys obsess, all I'm seeing here is perfectly healthy. I think I'm not going to be able to think about anything else for the next x months and admire you abilities to maintain sanity during this all. Oh well. Life lesson in learning how not to tunnel vision on things just because I can't control them - there we are. If I don't conceive by Christmas, though, no paid maternity for me -so I think I'm feeling a bit tense because we're under a bit of pressure.
The abbreviations do confuse me though. Better than writing cervical mucus all the time though I guess.

GTR2882 · 22/09/2011 21:44

Welcome Lydia, let the obsessing commence!!

I am feeling sick and headachey again so am going to bed to dream of BFPs and thermal shifts!!! Praying that i get that coveted rise in the morning! :)

LouLou hope dinner was a success! Glad the bleeding stopped!! Fx for BFP!! I think you should test on Saturday Monday, he he!! Grin

louloubellamozzarella · 22/09/2011 21:58

Sweet baby filled dreams GTR Grin

We had a mahousive dinner despite DP having been bought up to speed with latest developments, so it wasn't strictly necessary, but yummy nevertheless!

Yep, definitely gonna wait for Sat Mon (cough) Wink

Ilanthe · 22/09/2011 22:47

I've just worked out what FF was and went over to have a look. Did a calendar, and to my great surprise, discovered today is potentially one of my most fertile days. Good job we'd SWI'd just before then... Grin I thought it was next week.

festiemum · 23/09/2011 09:26

Self indulgent post alert - sorry ladies.

So, very weepy today (am due on Hmm) did an internet cheapie with FMU - BFN. Due on potentially today, tomorrow or sunday (not sure what my cycle is supposed to be doing, since coil came out two months ago and last month had a chemical pg, so going on pre-coil cycle lengths, but who knows?!!)

The thing is, I can cope with not being pg - early days yet, and this is my first child with a new partner - it might not be the same as it was with my ex - different genes and all that. But this month seems to be following the same pattern as last month: pg symptoms, BFNs right up to period. If it continues the same, I'll get very faint BFPs in a few days (that get fainter) and then a big horrble painful period a week late, and I'll start thinking that maybe me and DH aren't genetically compatible. Do you see what I mean?

I know I'm massively over-thinking this! What doesn't help is that ex and his new (much younger) wife (who he left me for when our youngest was 4 months old!!) have had a baby recently, and she fell pregnant immediately (of course) Envy.

Aaaaargh! So wait and see I suppose... Confused

festiemum · 23/09/2011 09:28

Oh mama - just read your post. Sorry the hag got you! xxx Wine

louloubellamozzarella · 23/09/2011 10:20

Ahh sorry to hear that mama, sounds like your intuition was right... at least you've got the July aircraft all revved up and ready to go. Hope my sign's still up on my seat just in case!!

festie sorry you're having a wobbly day :( Try to ignore the stupid b*astard ex hubby and silly cow ex's wife. You only had your coil out a couple of months ago so I'd put it down to your cycles settling down again. I'd only start worrying if you're still having irregular cycles/signs of chemical pregs a couple of months down the line. Hope you feel better soon. Dr Loulou prescribes a nice cuppa tea and something chocolatey - strict doctor's orders, no arguing Grin

Ilanthe and others using fertility friend, I'm most impressed. Had a look at it yesterday and it's complicated! Think I need to take few hours over the weekend to understand everything, so much to think about!

Spotting for me stopped last night but having a tiny bit again this morning - very light brown and hardly anything. Not sure what to think really. Still trying to hold on to test but not sure how long I will be strong :( Anyone know how long the dang hormones take to show up? Really hope my body's not f*cking me around and that it's not AF imminently arriving.

Anyone got anything nice planned for the weekend? I have a few boring things to do but mostly going to enjoy a lie in and a lovely curry, bring on the end of the day!!

GTR2882 · 23/09/2011 10:38

LouLou I am going to be bluntly honest with you!!! If it is implantation then the bleeiding can last on and off for up to 3 days, so technically this can still be implantation!! If it's now brown, then it's old blood (i think) and if there is hardly anything then I doubt that it's AF; however, i do not want to get your hopes up unnecessarily and will tell you that last cycle, I had some light spotting around 3 days before AF was due, i thought it had come early but dismissed this as it has never come early. So i then thought it could be possible implantation bleeding - it wasn't as on the 4th day after spotting, i was bleeding - it was really light and did not really need a pad (only really saw red blood when i......ahem.........investigated in my hoo-ha and as disgusting as that sounds, for the sake of my sanity and everyone elses, i highly recommend having a rummage at around the time of AF just so that you can get a feel for what it all feels like up there and how different it is to any other time in your cycle :) Blush Blush

With regards testing, after implantation it usually takes around 2-3 days for the hormone to become present in urine; as you are bleeding and this could possibly be implantation, the lovely little eggy will have imbedded itself into your uterine wall and i think testing tomorrow with FMU might give you an answer - if it does happen to be BFN then it is recommended to test once AF is late.

I hope i don't cause any reason for you to be upset/excited - i just thought i would give my honest opinion (I am no expert, so please feel free to ignore what i have said :))

I am going on a 50km bike ride tomorrow - sensible? Hell no, but i have comitted myself now so no backing out!!!

louloubellamozzarella · 23/09/2011 11:02

Hi GTR, thanks for your knowledge and experiences, you know so much, let's get started on The Bible!!

I'm busy writing a list of things to distract myself from thinking about this AF/BFP business. I'm not feeling very positive about this cause I'm just expecting AF to turn up really. Don't have any other symptoms either. We'll see but expect a BFN report from me early next week, I think that's the way it's going to go but we'll see. I might test tomorrow morning just to see and then again Monday morning.

I'm going for another run this lunchtime... trying to dispel irrational fears about running in early stages of pergnancy as it's fecking ridiculous to be speculating when I haven't even tested! Will just carry on as normal till I know otherwise.

How's everyone else today anyway? Any SS going on? Grin

Readynow · 23/09/2011 11:12

Sorry to hear everyone is in the worrying/unsure stages! But remember it is not over until AF shows! I know it is really hard to relax about it - believe me I definitelty do not practice what I preach - but my GP told me it can take a while to get updiffed & that is totally normal. Saying that I think I am obsessing about ttc as it is all I think about. Not quite at the ss stage yet as just in my fertile time but am getting quite stressed about actually dtd at the right time as my DH has wimped out/complaining of feeling rough & is just not up for dtd at the moment. Am trying not to get too Angry with him but can't help worrying I am missing the vital time. Lets hope he quickly recovers this weekend. :o

zombiebanana · 23/09/2011 11:20

Wow! This thread is cool! And busy!

Here's some symptom news . . .

  1. Continuing extreme horniness & insatiability
  2. Felt sick in the night
  3. A bit more weeing than usual

loulou best of luck . . .

GTR2882 · 23/09/2011 11:40

Zombie interesting symptoms, especially the peeing!! I am not peeing anymore than usual (i don't think), but i can't seem to shake this headachey, dizzy, nauseous feeling! Not even sure I have ov'd because of stupid temps and FF and lack of fertile cm, but i really do not feel well at all!! CM at the moment is really creamy and blobby (if that makes any sense at all!!)

loulou i am with you on the Bible......and in the beginning God said let there be fertile CM

festiemum · 23/09/2011 12:18

Thanks Loulou - it's stupid; I just don't want to go through another week of uncertainty and then another mc. I'm projecting wildly!

Anyway, I am SO weepy and now crampy and wet-feeling as if AF is coming any minute (keep popping to the loo to check, sort of thing) so maybe my symptoms were all in my head and AF is just on her way. I would prefer that to another Chemical obviously.

Grrrrrrr, so hormonal!

Aah, just remembered Zombie, you're having to wait 4 weeks to test aren't you? Hope you're staying just the right side of sane :) (Don't think I managed to this month sadly!)

Ilanthe · 23/09/2011 14:52

Loulou I'm with you on FF being very very complicated. I'm not using it per se, I just did a single calendar based on my last period and an average cycle length of 29 days (they range from 27-30) since I started counting in February. I'm not bothering with temps and OPKs or anything like that, we're just shagging at 2-3 day intervals between periods. I might start obsessing doing more if I don't get pregnant within a few cycles.

I hope your bleeding is implantation - it is similar in pattern to mine with DS. Though mine was after my period was due but, as my scan later proved, I didn't ovulate till day 19.

Wierd 'symptoms' over here (despite only CD 13) are:-

  1. Sore boobs.
  2. A drop of milk leaking from one of my boobs! Shock I stopped bfing 10 months ago and it dried up immediately. Wierd. Wierd.
  3. Prominent veins on boobs and arms.

Zombie - they sound promising...

I am supposed to be on a last night of freedom piss up with my friend who is also TTC tomorrow. I should just assume I'm not pregnant, shouldn't I. Grin

zombiebanana · 23/09/2011 17:04

:D Do it, do it Ilanthe But will you be able to bear the guilt if it turns out you are pg? Maybe have a few glasses of water in between . . . Luckily I stopped drinking about three months ago (my god, but it was hard. I LOVE DRINKING.). Maybe you'll be able to tell if you are impregnated because booze tastes vile! I tried some Pinot Grigio last night and it tasted like lighter fluid . . . and got very excited as interpreted it as A Sign. But then my mother old me she'd bought it in Aldi, so perhaps I was premature.

festie What a stressful time you've been going through :( I'm sorry about those chemical pgs, it's miserable when you start to feel all motherly and then the painful & frustrating AF comes. I had one chem and it was actually much more painful [physically] than a mc, so I am full of sympathy for you. Be nice to yourself and have treats.

I hope everyone has a great and relaxing weekend. Please update me on the peeathon results on Monday.

festiemum · 23/09/2011 22:30

Oh Bollocks ladies, I've started spotting. I feel like such an idiot, all those symptoms I've been having. Buggering Bollocky bastards!

floralflora · 23/09/2011 22:43

More bad news here festie... Auntie Florence turned up at my house today too. So I will miss out on the Group POAS on Monday Sad.

I am looking on the bright side: I had a nice big glass of wine as soon as I got in from work, I can build up more reserves of folic acid (I'm rubbish at remembering to take it Blush ), and DH and I get to ttc again in the next cycle :)

So I'm off the bus at the next stop. Bestest wishes to the rest of you lovely ladies. x

festiemum · 23/09/2011 22:50

Ah Bugger Flora, sorry to hear that. yes, think wine may well be consumed here this weekend too!

louloubellamozzarella · 24/09/2011 00:16

Oh bugger ladies :(

Wine this weekend then Grin

festie are you sure it's AF spotting and not implantation though?

DeeLite · 24/09/2011 07:01

Naughty me: I did a POAS this morning. Woke up early and had curiousity got the better of me. Anyway, it was a BFN but I'm only 7 DPO (but due on Monday - have quite a short luteal phase) so there's a tiny bit of hope yet. Serves me right for jumping ahead and POAS solo instead of waiting for the big 'un on Monday.

louloubellamozzarella · 24/09/2011 08:00

Naughty me too Blush. I did the same and BFN too. Slap around the wrists please...

Stopped spotting yesterday afternoon and today it's started a little bit again, still only a little, like yesterday. Hmph. Don't feel like AF is coming but if it is I hope it's soon so I don't get my hopes up any more :(

festiemum · 24/09/2011 10:30

Naughty ladies! Wrists duly slapped! :o

I wondered about implantation spotting too Loulou, but didn't want to get my hopes up. Still very light this morning, but have a feeling it's just turning into my period. Oh well, only time will tell.

Think I need to make sure that we SWI regularly across the month, rather than concentrate on my fertile period. Say I ov-ed a bit later than I thought this month - we would have missed it, cos we stopped as soon as I thought I had ov-ed (tiredness and colds and kids with nightmares don't help in the ttc quest).

Anyway, hope you are all having a good weekend. Fingers crossed that this spotting stops completely Loulou - though I think mine is gearing up for AF!

Rusulka · 24/09/2011 16:14
    • TMI alert * *

I think there may actually BE something to this doggy style position as an aid to conception!

On CD13 today, after 2 days' worth of positive POAOS, have decided to abandon tradition and go for it on all fours on the off chance it may actually make a difference... and do you know what? No leakage.

Seriously!

Normally I find that when DH withdraws, he pretty much brings everything out with him, but this time, with my face smushed into the mattresss (nice)... nothing. A little bit sticky, but I'm amazed at the difference!

Also DH, ahem, 'arrived' a lot quicker, which was nice, especially when you just want to get it over with so you know you've done your best for the day.

And although it's not as comfy to stay in that position for another 10 mins, gravity really makes a difference- no squirtage until I accidentally laughed.

And he said it was really comfy for him too, apart from him needing to be a bit higher up. Normally DTD is a pain in the arse because he's always got back ache or neck ache or sore feet or he's too full, or he feels cross... but I think we may have actually found a way around that now!

Hallelujah!

Hoping this cycle will be a case of 3rd time lucky, we certainly seem to have done it on the right days. More tomorrow, and we'll see how we go. The 2WW this time is going to be excruciating, but at least I'm working, so won't be sat at home all day eyeing up sticks like cycle 1.

FX for everyone POAS on Monday- tempted to join in, but 1DPO testing is a little silly, even for me!

louloubellamozzarella · 24/09/2011 18:28

Hi Rusulka buddy, it's been a while! Good to hear you're working hard on operation kumquat (or similar) still Grin

Might have to try a bit of the ol DS next month if my expected BFN is still there next week.

With you on more regular SWI festie - ours was halfhearted this month and only really went for it when I thought I was oving but judging by my CM and ov sticks I was a week late so gonna have to just be a bit more energetic in October I think!!

Spotting stopped again almost as soon as it started. I swear I have a really metallic taste in my mouth (like I've just taken iron tablets or eaten some tin foil eww) but don't want to think about it as it could be my silly mind playing tricks on me. No other symptoms either. Ho hum. Am going to make self hold on for Mon now to make up for pathetic early testing.
