NEW BUS BOARDING FOR JUNE 2012

desperateoldie67 · 23/08/2011 06:40

Struck out this month...anyone care to join me on the June 2012 bus?

OP posts:
festiemum · 13/09/2011 10:40

My cycle tends to follow a pretty textbook pattern (I'm sorry- don't hate me!). Dry, then creamy, then ewcm. My cervix goes so high I can hardly find it and very soft. I get very randy - to the point where I am phwooring at random men and wanting to leap DH at any opportunity.

Don't think I get cramps. :)

GTR2882 · 13/09/2011 10:58

Thanks Sn0w and Festie (i could never hate you - you are helping me through this :))

I have some mild cramping that has just come in suddenly, can't say i feel all that randy, but then i am in work at my desk so will see how i feel when i get home! I can't work out my cm at the moment, this morning it appeared creamy but then earlier it was a lot more stretchy and clear!! I also had random stabbing pains in my lower left abdomen and now in my right! My cervix is also driving me potty, i know that it moves about during the day, but this morning it appeared to be high and medium, then half an hour later seemed to have dropped lower and when i checked a few moments ago, it seemed higher again! I know it's going to be tmi, but how do you check your CP? I normally squat but is it maybe better to check whilst sat on the loo? I only ask because my last check was when i was sat on the loo and the whole experience was completely different!! Confused

millyv · 13/09/2011 11:13

Morning ladies!

Please can I join you bus, AF arrived today so from May to June I jump!

Random question but reading about you checking your CP, how do you do that? Sorry still a bit of a novice at the charting/checking symptoms thing after all these months ! Confused

Millyv TTC#1 CD1 AF due 8th Oct...

Xx

GTR2882 · 13/09/2011 11:20

Millyv no worries - to check your CP you need to first wash your hands thoroughly and basically insert your middle finger into your hoo ha and reach up to feel for an area that is different from the rest!! You will know when you find it! Then you need to check whether it high (can barely reach it), medium (can reach but it's a little tricky) or low (really easy to reach) and determine the texture, firm (like the tip of your nose) or soft (like your lips) and then finally whether it is open (kind of like a little slot) or closed (like a bump)

Sorry if any of that causes confusion but the more you have a rummage the more you will get used to the different situations! HTH!!! :)

festiemum · 13/09/2011 11:54

Brilliant description of CP GTR! Welcome millyv!

As for position to check CP - I do it while on the loo. I don't think it matters, as long as you're consistently in the same position ifyswim.

I read somewhere that although it's a good idea to check your CM throughout the day; you should only check your CP (apparently after your morning poo is a good time Blush) once as it changes position throughout the day! So another thing to monumentally confuse us then! Hmm

festiemum · 13/09/2011 11:57

Oh, and meant to add - if I check while squatting it appears much lower.

Little bits of stabby crampy things are supposed to be an ov thing though aren't they? What's your temp doing? And OPKs? Are they shedding any light?!

GTR2882 · 13/09/2011 12:06

Excellent advice festie thank you :) Aha, maybe that's why mine always appears to be low, because when i checked on the loo it was hard to reach!!! My temp is consistent but low (36.13 this morning down from 36.17 yesterday) and my OPKs are about as useful as DH weeing on them!! Thought i had what seemed like a positive on CD 29 but I am now CD32 so i would assume that ov has been and gone!! Have not had what i would call a true positive yet this cycle, only hints at what might be a positive!! Confused

Mama5isalive · 13/09/2011 19:18

wow you lots sure know about your ladies bits!!!!!! i am staying away( may do myself some damage)and im wondering about my ov-ing this month before i would get pains in 1 side, and slight cramping that would get worse then subside, dont pay much attention to my cm really! and so i am just hoping well praying the way i have carried on in the past will be enough to get me off to pregnantville!!!!!!!! no symptoms at all just tired but working and packing to move so would be expected - countdown to AF on the 20th Sept!!!!!!!

princessesmummy · 13/09/2011 20:51

af arrived on Sunday. so its not my month. dp is away for a couple of weeks soon . so can safely say its not gonna be a June baby for us. so I'm off at the next stop .good luck guys. and congrats musicmrs! will remove myself from the stats wen I get on a pc. cheerio

millyv · 14/09/2011 09:54

Thanks for your advice ladies! It's not something I've attempted to check yet, will stick to the o.v kits and temperatures for a few months as I may do more harm than good knowing me!

Good luck everyone this month - being off work next summer would be lovely with a June baby! :) Xx

GTR2882 · 14/09/2011 12:03

Has anyone ever never had a positive OPK but have still ov'd? I have been peeing on them, sometimes 3 times a day, since about CD5 and although i have had some that are almost positive, i am yet to get a true positive. My cramps are getting worse as well :(

festiemum · 14/09/2011 13:56

Yes! Last time I was ttc, I got the pattern of very light lines, followed by a heavier line, then a heavy line almost as dark at the control, then a fainter line, then back to very faint. I know I ovulated cos I got pregnant!

This month I had what I thought was a +opk, but it was barely, so I went by ewcm and cp in the end.... Sometimes all the extra information isn't a help at all is it? What sort of cramps have you got GTR?

GTR2882 · 14/09/2011 14:10

I don't know what I would do without you festie :) thank you

The problem with my OPKS is that they are exactly as you have described them but i don't seem to have much in the way of cm (sometimes i think it is watery, sometimes ew and mostly creamy) and my CP seems to indicate AF (low and open, but kind of soft) I am so confused Confused you are right the extra info is just adding to the mystery!!!

My cramps feel like AF cramps (I have had a rummage though and there is not even a hint of AF) and they are all across my lower abdomen!

Readynow · 14/09/2011 14:25

Hi can I join? AF got me today :(
I am 34 & ttc#1 just starting my 8th cycle - AF expected 9th Sept ish (my cycles can be anywhere between 25 & 28 days!)
I do temp, do OPKs & check my CM but still do end up being confused about cramps & niggles during my cycle. I didn't get on at all with normal OPK's as the line never appeared to be stronger than the control line but since I have been using CB digital OPKs (the smiley face ones) I have been getting positive results (on either CD11,12 or 13 depending on my cycle length). I seem to get odd cramps & wierd feelings in my ovary area from about CD7 & on & off for the rest of the cycle?? Confused Not sure if this is a bad sign or what this means?

festiemum · 14/09/2011 14:46

Hmm, GTR can I ask where you check your CM? Do you check from the opening of your vulva? Or do you actually draw the CM from your cervix itself?

I know, VERY personal and all that, but it might help to get a better idea of what your cm is doing if you use two fingers to draw the cm out.... (Oh, the things we do in the name of ttc!!)

Do you have any idea when AF is due? Sorry, can't remember, are you recently off pill or anything hormonal? Sounds like your cycles playing you a right merry dance at the moment! Sorry to hear that.

Hi Ready, welcome! That's the trouble with being hyper-aware of your body, isn't it? You notice things that you never would in normal circumstances!

Readynow · 14/09/2011 14:54

Oops meants 9th October - had September on the brain!

pixarmum · 14/09/2011 15:09

Can I join too? TTC#2 Got AF yesterday, so now on second cycle. Does temp monitoring really work? How quickly does temp rise after ovulation and where can you buy a basal temp thermometer? AF next due 13th Oct 

PopcornMouse · 14/09/2011 15:11

Hi pixar - I got mine from boots. Needs to be a sensitive thermometer that reads to 2 places.

Your temp drops on the day you OV, then rises the next day and stay high until AF, I think :)

pixarmum · 14/09/2011 15:13

Not sure where random numbers came from at the end of my last message!

GTR2882 · 14/09/2011 15:22

Festie nothing is too personal on here!! You lot know more about my inner workings than my DH!!! I normally draw my cm from my cervix - will try the two finger thingy though, normally i just draw it when i am checking CP!! AF should be due 8th or 9th October.

No, nothing hormonal, i came off the pill last June (2010) and did not get AF until March or April this year (i did speak to the Dr and she said that it was normal for AF to take a while to get back to normal depending on how long you had been on the pill for - I was on cerazette so never had AF at all whilst i was taking it) and then had a really heavy flow in May, back to normal in June and then nothing in July and now nothing in September. My cycles for May and June were 29 days so I had been calculating on that rule, when AF did not make an appearance in July, I calculated for August and it did arrive as it should have, so Septembers should have been here on the 10th but was a no show and going off my rule of thumb it should arrive on the 9th October. I may just have very long cycles or i don't ovulate every other month!

If i don't conceive within 6 months i think i will go to the doctor, especially if my cycles are still playing up!!

Pixar and Ready, welcome to the mad house Grin

Rusulka · 14/09/2011 19:24

I found last month with my ovulation sticks that when I ovulated I didn't get lines as dark as the control line at all- but they were the 2 darkest ones I'd had, compared to the faint-but-barely-there ones, and I was tracking my temp at the same time, so I just cross-correlated. I think the more things you're tracking, the better informed you are. I'd be going mad without all my stats! It gives me a way to fill in the interminable gaps between AF and the much longed for pregnancy...

festiemum · 14/09/2011 19:32

Hmm, interesting GTR. I suppose that makes sense. And who's to say what a 'normal' cycle is?!! I think your plan is a good one. Give it 6 months, and if no joy see your GP. After all, the only way to determine absolutely whether you're ov-ing or not, is with a blood test from your GP!

Welcome Pixar!
