Razz, that's awful! Grr, I would be so angry in your shoes. Stupid rules over nothing - what exactly is this second signature going to add? Nothing! Angry Angry I'm glad you flipped at the genetics nurse. "Too busy" to pass on the information that you have been waiting for on tenterhooks since you got your BFP? Grr.

Ciwi, FX for your doppler. My amnio might get moved now - Mum has asked an obstetrician friend of hers to find out which doctor at RIE has the best results and get me an appointment with them. I told her I wanted it as soon as possible, so I hope she doesn't come back with a later appt.

Blue, hope that's a sign that this is the month!

AngelGeorgie · 05/10/2011 18:48

Too sorry you re having to wait to the 17 th. Hope the time flies by for you. X
Razz hope you get your results by Friday. Don t understand why they told you they were ready if they re not really ad need counter signing!!Hmm x
Cheese not to Friday x we all seem to be playing a waiting game.
Blue get to it then!!! Loads of swi then fx this will be your month.
Hi all hope everyone else is ok?
Had a stressful day today , though minor compared to what some of you are going through. At work I checked my bp & dipped my wee ; bp raised and urine showed ; protein, ketones, glucose & leuocytes. I rung my MW , of course, couldn t get hold of her so rung my consultant who was in meetings all day. Went through to the day unit checked my bp: was fine, urine now only showed ; leuocytes which can indicate a uti but no glucose, which I was worried about as this can be an indicator of pre- eclampsia.had the tracer on GILS fine but not enough sleep/ awake periods to fit their" criteria" for discharge. Sent off for lunch then returned to have the tracer on again then GILS started behaving herself and did enough to fit their " criteria"
Bit scary really but don t think I ve done too bad to have my first " metalling" fit at 36 weeks!!!
Phew & breathe Louise !!!
Love to all xxx

CheeseandGherkins · 05/10/2011 20:32

Had to take DD1 to the drs after school, she'd been coughing all day apparently but they didn't call me. She felt really ill so we were seen and told she has croup! Rest of the week off school and lots of rest. DH also needed to be seen and he has the same! He was given anti-biotics though because of the steroids he's on lowering his immune system.

Blue it would be lovely it that was a sign and that this is your month :)

razz glad it helped a bit! So Friday it is then? I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and hope for good news x

Too hopefully you'll get a doctor with a better result and also sooner too.

Angel glad everything was ok in the end, must have been really worrying! Not long to go now for you :)

CheeseandGherkins · 05/10/2011 20:34

ciwi I hope it was Scarlett, it's a nice feeling :) Hope you don't get PE again, when I had it it came on fairly late but I really puffed up, very noticeable but I ended up having Dd1 at 36 weeks naturally anyway before they induced so luckily things went ok.

razzdazz · 05/10/2011 20:41

angel I think you have done remarkably well with your calmness and indeed your calming thoughts and advice to others. The hospital where the tests are happening is in a different part of the country. When I was waiting for the results to confirm Thomas's condition my consultant hung onto the results for two weeks can you believe and got shirty when I rang to chase them up. So, not wanting the same to happen I contacted the testing hospital just to confirm that it was done to then pester local to get the results (hope you are following) as I totally understood they would be unable to give actual results. The lady was actually very nice and explained that they were reported on (thankfully) but needed this second signature. At least I no they are there and I will have them for my appointment at oxford and to help determine what the next step should be.
too I think that what your mum is doing is a good idea, I think if I had the option to wait for the best then I would even if it delayed things that bit more. Good old mum Wink

AngelGeorgie · 05/10/2011 21:44

I see Razz . I just didn t get why anyone would say to you" yes , your results are here but can t give them to you yet" seems very cruel . I would have been inclined to fib to the patient that they weren t available yet. Before anyone shoots me down in flames ; just to try & alleviate pt stress slightly then I would chase them up ASAP.it's obvious if you say to a pt " your results are here but we can t let you know yet that in itself will cause more stress & anger" . However, everyone is different & handles stuff in their own way I guess. Not long though Razz 24 little hours. Hang in there. Thanks for your kind words xxxx

CheeseandGherkins · 06/10/2011 09:53

Morning, hope everyone's ok today. I have the midwife this afternoon, probably be the same as last time, whenever I bring anything up it's all "normal" when it just wasn't but I don't have the energy to argue. I'll leave it all with my consultant tomorrow. Feeling quite down today.

razzdazz · 06/10/2011 14:44

Oh my goodness!! The genetics nurse from yesterday has clearly taken pity on me and just rang with the DNA results. My husband and I are both clear and do not carry any of the faulty gene in our blood Grin. I am so very relieved. We are not out of the woods yet as we still have a risk of recurrence but it is tiny at 1% compared to 1 in 3 if we had tested positive. I will just keep on praying that all is well and will see what they say in oxford on tuesday. Thank you so much for all of the good wishes sent my way.
Still keeping you all in my thoughts and hoping for your good outcomes also.
cheese sorry that you are feeling down today, you do seem to have so much go on in your life that I am not surprised you are exhausted. Hope your consultant looks after you well tomorrow and gives you back your fighting spirit, we have all been through to much to shrink away now xx

CheeseandGherkins · 06/10/2011 15:01

Oh razz that's wonderful! I'm sooo pleased for you :o I hope Tuesday goes well for you too :)

It's 10 months today since Scarlett was born so maybe that's why I'm down, not sure but I'm trying to busy my mind and not think too much. Done far too much thinking lately. Midwife went fine, all well. Back in 6 weeks to see her again. She asked if that was ok and I'm fine with that, she said I'd be seen so often in hospital anyway that she didn't want me to have to see her so often too. Fine by me, would rather be seen in hospital anyway.

Roll on tomorrow morning now. :)

MelMal · 06/10/2011 15:06

Fantastic news Razz that's just the kind of service and treatment that everyone should get! Glad you know though.
Hugs to you Cheese you know we're all thinking about you x
Too hope that your mum is able to sort something out for you to try and make things easier (?)
Angel glad that your wee scare wasn't anything to worry about. Hope your last week at work next week runs smoothly and quickly!
I'm pretty much on the wait just now like a few other ladies. Will probably test next weekend. Trying really hard not to look for signs as I don't want to disappoint myself. Pretty sure it'll happen soon.
Hi to everyone else and hope you don't all have this miserable weather that we have on the east coast of scotland!!

AngelGeorgie · 06/10/2011 16:16

Mel good luck when you test. We too have rain in West Yorkshire now!! I finish work tomorrow. Be a bittersweet day as I ll miss my friends & the banter so much.
Razz excellent news. So glad your results were good and you ve received them now. GrinGrin lovely news.
Cheese many of us can relate to you as a few of us are coming up to a difficult week next week with our angel's birthdays . Hugs ((())).
Having a lovely chill out day here after instructed to take it off by my manager. So, officially I ve got a migraine so HR won t start my mat leave to Monday.
Love to all xxxx

MelMal · 06/10/2011 17:00

Oops Angel I've lost a week somewhere. I had you on annual leave now. I'd be a great boss!!! Try and enjoy some "you" time x

Bluetinkerbell · 06/10/2011 17:13

aaah I've just seen a house on the rental market 5 houses away from friends, in same village as we are now. No pictures on the website. From the description it says it is bigger than where we are now. We're not really in a great financial position, but it would be £75 more than what we pay now. We would gain an extra reception room and bigger bedrooms than what we have now. It's available beginning of December. Do we go for it now, in the hope we will need it soon for another baby or wait but risk not finding a bigger house in same village for when there is another baby. We can't stay in this house, as we need a spare bedroom to put sofabed for family and DD will need to move to big bed when there will be new baby.
sorry for long rant... DH is not at home and I don't want to let this chance go. We didn't really have much choice when moving in the house we are now, as it was the only house available and needed to be in same village. There are rarely new houses for rent around here...

Moominsarescary · 06/10/2011 17:35

Hi blue sounds like a good idea , could you just ring and arrange a viewing, doesn't hurt to look?

Were in the middle of looking for somewhere abit bigger but have the same problem, can't realy afford to pay much more than we are now and 4 bedrooms which we want don't come up very often in this area

Bluetinkerbell · 06/10/2011 17:44

Hi Moomin welcome on our thread! :) how are you doing?

Yeah we would ideally like 4 bedrooms as well, but if we can upgrade from 2 small doubles and a tiny study (in which DD is now still in her cotbed), then that would be great already! Also at the moment we only have 1 living room and kitchen and the house I'm looking at has living and dining room and kitchen with utility room, so all in all that would mean more moving about space! It would mean the whole nightmare about moving again though :( also don't know whether it will be possible, as we haven't signed our new rental contract for this place yet, should have done that already, we were hoping we could go on a rolling contract so if we would see another house we could move fairly easily. We have had 2 six-month contracts so far.

OP posts:
janedoe25 · 06/10/2011 17:57

blue If you can afford to I think you should go for it! It would be less of a nightmare moving now, before you are pregnant! Let us know what you decide to do.

razz fantastic news about the test results!

Sorry you are not having a good day cheese.

We had Df's granny's funeral today, it was quite hard and we kept thinking of Zoe. We are both very upset and angry though, Zoe was left out when all of the grand children and great grand children were mentioned by name. Df was so angry he was crying, which is not like him at all.

Bluetinkerbell · 06/10/2011 18:07

thanks jane now I need to convince DH Wink so sad they didn't mention your precious Zoe!

razz so pleased that you got the results already! Fx that all will go smoothly from now on!

cheese there will always be good days and bad days! big hugs for you!

Mel good luck with testing! let us know!

angel I hope you've enjoyed your day off! not long now!

greenzebra · 06/10/2011 18:09

Hi All, Im having a relaxing week at home with the hubby seams as though when we had Ophelia they got his leave weeks mixed or gave him special leave or something but what ever it is, it means hes got the week off, so I got the week off also. Shame its not ov week (next week) but I think this week will really get us in the mood.

jane I am so sorry that your family chose not to mention Zoe that is just not right. Some people I think, think they are being thoughtful by leaving our beautiful babies out of such things but they dont realise that it hurts us more.

mel thats such good news.

cheese Im sorry your having a tough day, I think you need a pamper day just like Angel had the other week.

blue I agree with jane if you can afford it why not.

greenzebra · 06/10/2011 18:10

sorry girls got you mixed up meant to say razz thats such good news and mel fx crossed for you testing.

Bluetinkerbell · 06/10/2011 18:15

green I hope we can afford it. At the moment we can't, but we should be sorted out hopefully by end of October. I should also have my annual review at work soon and I'm really hoping for a pay rise! But I am very willing to compromise on other things if that means we will have more space to live in, specially in the hope that there will be a new baby preferably within the next year! I think if I would have been pregnant still, and had Sterre this October, we would have probably gone for it, even though that would have meant moving with a newborn baby.

OP posts:
Bluetinkerbell · 06/10/2011 18:27

Ooooh yes Grin I have just found the way to convince DH! From January onwards we won't be paying our childminder anymore as we will get 15 hours free childcare a week! Which saves us about £240 a month Grin

OP posts:
TooImmature2BDumbledore · 06/10/2011 21:56

Razz, that's great! Fantastic news! Good luck for Tuesday too.

Blue, just go for it if you can. You will have a new baby at some point, so you might as well take it while it's there. Yay for the saving on childcare too!

Jane, , what a horrible omission. Zoe is as much a great-grandchild as anyone else! Your poor DF too.

Hi Moomin, haven't met you before - welcome! Moomins aren't scary, though - something else was scary, some sort of monster in Moomin-land. Does anyone else know what I'm talking about? It came and sniffed around their house and frightened them all.

Cheese, hope you're feeling a bit better now.

Mel, FX!

Have just got back in from work night out and the dog had peed on the bed. So angry! First of all, the dogwalker should have shut him in the living room properly, and secondly, he should not have pissed on the bed! That's really bad dog behaviour, protesting at us leaving him alone. It's a feather duvet, but luckily it washes. If I'd had to pay for dry-cleaning I would have been even angrier, but it is in the washing machine now, grr. And I got a new maternity dress from Asos.com and wore it for the first time today and I have managed to tear it. Down the seam, so it will be fixable, but grr some more. This is just not my week. Angry Sad [scared]

Moominsarescary · 06/10/2011 23:17

Hi yes it was the groke, it turned everything around it to ice.

Thanks blue I'm having bad days and worse days at the moment, would have liked to stay in bed all day today but our youngest is only 6 months and was having non of it, dp had to go back to work Monday so it has seemed like a very long week. The funeral is booked for Tuesday and I'm pretty anxious about it

janedoe25 · 07/10/2011 07:25

Hi moomin I agree, they are scary! Sorry you find yourself here, but it is nice to meet you.

shakeyjake · 07/10/2011 09:35
