Ladies, here we are.
Let's crack on.

NinjaChipmunk · 17/08/2011 12:05

solars that 12-36 hours bit sounds familiar. I'm guessing I layed my egg a couple of days ago then!

scarletfingernail · 17/08/2011 12:07

Me and DS have just been out to our local bakery to treat ourselves to a nice celebratory lunch.

Oh, and some clearblues accidentally found their way into my basket while in Boots. Keep me going for a bit.

CakePigeon · 17/08/2011 12:11

ninja I agree with solars on the 12-36 hrs thing, that is what it says on the packet but I find I ov within 6-12 hrs of a positive opk as I usually get my temp rise the next morning, afraid I never really get ewcm so I can't cross reference

Any symptoms to report scarlet?

NinjaChipmunk · 17/08/2011 12:14

Thanks cake, I usually go with the ewcm as a way of monitoring but to be honest the swi from about day 8 or 9 to about day 16 or 17 anyway so I sometimes wonder why i bought the pee sticks in the first place!

yes scarlet do you feel any different? Enquiring minds need to know!

maybebabyR · 17/08/2011 12:15

Pleased you are celebrating Scarlet and Grin at the clearblues.

That's amazing Solar I hope he keeps you well stocked with baked goodies Smile

CakePigeon · 17/08/2011 12:22

ninja :o I do the same thing I think the opks are just for reassurance that all is working downstairs and the charting is just because I like graphs and am a bit geeky!

scarletfingernail · 17/08/2011 12:23

Strangely now I know I'm upduffed I'm experiencing all sorts of symtoms Hmm

  1. The one I've had from when I ovulated as previously reported. AF type cramps in uterus area and occasionally in lower back (this is the main one which concerns me)
  1. Funny sensation in my boobs, like I can actually feel the growing by the hour. Occasional tenderness and pain.

These are all symptoms noticed today

  1. Very dry mouth, been swallowing a lot all morning.
  1. Food feeling like it's stuck in my throat and taking ages to go down.
  1. Sporadic weird shooting pains in the fanjo area (probably more vulva really)
  1. Very slight nausea

Are any of these common preggo symptoms? (Apart from boobs which I know about) Or am I just odd?

farfallarocks · 17/08/2011 12:25

CAKE I agree with the OPKs and shag dictator being 'late' in detection, that is why I felt the highs helpful. The month I got preggers we only did it on the highs, not the peaks!

Right, feeling AF cramps but no spotting which I do normally get before AF.

Either way its a positive in my book - either implantation OR even if I get AF a bit later on, my luteal phase is getting longer and lack of spotting has got to be a good thing for futurebabyfarfalla to implant.

  1. Didn't mean dry mouth, meant opposite to dry mouth
maybebabyR · 17/08/2011 12:30

Cramps are a good sign Farfalla Why are our bodies so mean? Making AF symptoms the same as preggo symptoms.

Imps7 · 17/08/2011 12:31

"wet mouth" Scarlet Wink

maybebabyR · 17/08/2011 12:31

Wet mouth? Grin

maybebabyR · 17/08/2011 12:31

Great minds Imps Smile

scarletfingernail · 17/08/2011 12:32

Grin yes I meant wet mouth.

Better add baby brain to the list!

Imps7 · 17/08/2011 12:34

Oh, maybe totally agree with the meaness of AF symptoms being the same as pregnancy symptoms. But what I think is even meaner still is the fact that AF symptoms are different every month - sometimes I have sore boobs immediately after OV; sometimes I only get sore boobs a day or so before AF. Sometimes I have cramps for a week leading up to AF; sometimes I don't have cramps at all even during AF. Sometimes I feel really drained and tired during the 2ww; sometimes I'm bursting with energy. This simply is not acceptable bodily behaviour!

maybebabyR · 17/08/2011 12:35

I know Imps it's so true. But I honestly don't remember ever getting symptoms of any sort until TTC Hmm

Imps7 · 17/08/2011 12:48

I don't either! I don't even remember getting EWCM - I get so much of it these days that it can't possibly have passed me by before TTC (I was off the pill for a year before we started trying). I didn't even know what it was until we started TTC - surely then I would have before questioned this slippery stuff excreting itself from my wazoo on a monthly basis?? But nope, no recollection of it at all!

dreamfeeder · 17/08/2011 12:49

imps, here here.

Now Futility Fiend says after you ov you get dry down there until after AF. I still have some CM, Can i call that a symptom??? As my last period (before the 2 i've had recently/first full cycle) was November 2009, I really can't remember what's 'normal' for me.... i have an inkling it is but hmmm.... And i felt really nauseous the other evening while eating dinner. And i want to be, i do, i do!!! I always used to get backache before AF as a warning, none these last 2. Stay the blinking same symptoms, you're driving us all crackers!! gah.

scarlet, will you be poas again tmw to cheer us all up again then?! We all believe you though, we really do.

dreamfeeder · 17/08/2011 12:51

Right best stop faffing around on MN and take DD to the playground before it rains again.

And Solars going Up Norf to the midlands just doesn't count as Up North!!!! In fact I haven't been further South than Manchester in as long as I can remember.... jaggy knows all about Up Norf (oooh, or does scotland not count as up north despite being very northerly and presuming that jaggy is indeed in scotland from her mn name)

dreamfeeder · 17/08/2011 12:52

oh, i lied, a visited a friend in Reading a few months ago

Imps7 · 17/08/2011 13:04

Dream, everything is a symptom since we're all pregnant all of the time. CM can't be anything other than yet another confirmation of the Blindingly Obvious!! Can't wait for your testing day!!

scarletfingernail · 17/08/2011 13:07

Have a good trip solars you never know, I may even bump into you if you're in my neck of the woods.

dream I have just peed on another stick not half an hour ago and I'm pleased to say my BFP is still there!

But yes, no doubt I will do another one for you tomorrow morning. Will you do one for me?

Imps7 · 17/08/2011 13:10

Crikey, I just read this online -

^I don't plan on getting pregnant right now, and I am using birth control. Do I still need folic acid?

Yes! Birth defects of the brain and spine happen in the very early stages of pregnancy, often before a woman knows she is pregnant. By the time she finds out she is pregnant, it might be too late to prevent those birth defects. Also, half of all pregnancies in the United States are not planned. For these reasons, all women who are able to get pregnant need 400 to 800 mcg of folic acid every day.^

By that thinking, I should have been taking folic acid for the last 12 years that OH and I have been together Confused

thelittlefriend · 17/08/2011 13:14

Fantastic news Scarlet! I'm thrilled for you! And remember, symptoms like nausea, sore boobs etc are all good things meaning your hormones are all in overdrive to create a successful pregnancy for you.

And, despite the brooking not coming easily to me at the moment, I was very cheered to hear you got your bfp the month you started your b vits. I've been taking mine for a week or so now, so I hope they work too!

maybebabyR · 17/08/2011 13:15

Ooooh, I have never heard that advice given before Imps

My Mum still tries to tell me I don't need to take it, as she didn't and my bro and I are both fine. Ah, Mother's Smile

Good news on your 4th BFP Scarlet You most defintely have a bean who is brooking no argument Smile

Of course it is a symptom Dream Grin
