Ladies, here we are.
Let's crack on.

OP posts:
Solars · 23/08/2011 10:16

Congratulations Meconium Wow great to hear of another BFP!!!

Baby it's still possibly too early for you so hang on in there!

Cake hope you're ok, we're all here thinking of you.

Looks like i'm going to have to buy some of that pre-seed for next month!!!

Dream, Scream it's got to be those little ones of yours settling in and making themselves comfortable for the next 8 or so months.

maybebabyR · 23/08/2011 10:40

Baby It is obviously just too early to test Smile

Cake How are you this morning? Hope she didn't come after all.

Jen apologies for TMI, but I seem to find that the closer I am to ovulation, the less come out. Maybe to do with the cervix being more open? Plus, the keen swimmers find their way up anyway, despite what comes rushing out Smile

Sorry you are feeling vunerable Scream but it is totally understandable. Surely it is much better for you to be in here brooking no argument and consuming vast amounts of baked goods than to be worrying on your own? Smile

I hate it when it rains and I have to go out in it. Bus drivers in London deliberately aim for me as they come whooshing past through enormous puddle Sad

MeconiumHappens · 23/08/2011 11:14

This month i tried preseed and pregnacare conception. i bought the bigger tube which came with 9 applicators. Its like a shoot it up devide like an applicator tampon. I think i got it from amazon. Make sure it says pre seed though, theres another product just called pre and it not the same thing.

I am also feeling a bit af crampy, but just going to ignore it and brook no arguement. I am pregnant and thats that. Wink

Looks like we conceived the week of our first wedding anniversary...awwww

CakePigeon · 23/08/2011 12:03

Hi everyone thank you so much for the positive thoughts maybe, solars, scream, little and everyone it makes it much easier to have you guys around Smile I think I have finished crying now but last night DH and I had a bit of a low evening and broke out the mid week wine, I'm ok now though!

scream hope your cramps are in fact a good sign and it is just squeak clinging tight to his/her mummy!

Right onwards and upwards rat smackers I am definitely getting preggers this month and I shall not hear a word otherwise!

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 23/08/2011 12:24

Impressive positivity Cake, those rats won't know what's hit them! I must say, on day 1 you're already blooming!

Awwww Meconium that's so sweet!

Thanks for the reassurance everyone, this really is a great thread! I'm staying positive, and many thanks to Golden for reminding me that I'm supposed to be enjoying the excitement of this stage!! There is a part of me that is soooooooooooo excited I'm grinning like a lunatic at strangers in the street (esp anyone with a bump or a child!). Mostly though I've been head down and viewing this whole week as some kind of endurance test!

I'm going to keep up the daily poas until my booking in appointment on Friday, and I'll keep up the super cautious minimal activity until then as well. After the booking in appointment though I am officially going to consider myself fully confirmed as preggers and start enjoying it!! I'll also tell my Dad at that point, he may be a worrier but I think he'll be really chuffed as well.

The SWI stories all made me chuckle! I read that doggy style is supposed to get the swimmers into exactly the right place as well, but we had significant "sloshing out" problems with that position! In the end we stuck to good old missionary, and very romantically after the post-swi cuddle we'd do an awkward little manoeuvre where I managed to close my legs before DH pulled out. It's all passion and seduction in the Scream household! Grin I think it worked though, because almost none came out, and I'd then stick a cushion under my hips for half an hour or so (we took to watching tv in bed straight after swi). Of course this just meant that loads came out when I got up afterwards! I think it gave max time for the athletic swimmers to get on their way though!

One last point, I just used Conceive plus from Boots, not Pre-seed. However I didn't conceive the first month of using CP (unless I did have a chemical pg - which I still think is likely) so maybe I should have got some pre-seed!

Sn0wGoose · 23/08/2011 12:34

MeconiumHappens tells me this is the most fertile thread on MN, nay, the internet, and so here I am! plops herself down on the squishy throw pillows and crosses her arms resolutely

What is pre-seed? I assumed it was just an expensive loob but it sounds like it's something more a bit more complicated?!

Imps7 · 23/08/2011 12:46

Hello Sn0w and welcome to the thread. As a result of having joined in, I can officially confirm that you are now pregnant! Hurrah and congratulations!! How are you getting on with charting, by the way?

Hello to everyone else too. So sorry about AF Cake - glad you are back in Rat Smacking Mode - go get 'em!

Re: sloshing out issues, I find that if OH withdraws reeeeaaaallllly reaaaalllly sllloooooooowly while I tilt upwards, less of it comes out. Also agree that there is less dribblage at fertile time - presumably the cervical door is open to let it all through at that stage.

I've tried Preseed a couple of times but to no avail and OH hated it (although I think that maybe I used too much). I have heard from other various sources (google mainly) that it has a good success rate but I always thought that if you had a lot of EWCM it wouldn't make a huge amount of difference. Worth a shot though!

Baby bad news re: BFN, but there are a number of charts on Futility Fiend which show positive OPKs before a positive BFP so there is still hope by the bucket load for you!

Right, off to get some lunch.

musicalmrs · 23/08/2011 13:14

Cake - bathing in preseed does sound like the way to go! Might make for a messy bath mind... this month will be yours I'm sure :)

I would currently like to track down whoever it was who decided pregnancy and AF symptoms would be similar! Have been feeling crampy for the last few days, incredibly bloated, and various other things - but yet they could all just symbolise AF's approach. Grr!

maybebabyR - I got soaked by a London bus this morning too. Not best pleased!

Oh - and may I ask - why rat smacking? I'm up with the rest of the lingo, but this one's bypassing me completely!

maybebabyR · 23/08/2011 13:22

Welcome Sn0w

Wants3 · 23/08/2011 13:26

Back from doctors and feeling sorry for myself. She made me bleed and then wished me luck with TTC!

Imps7 · 23/08/2011 13:29

Indeed, just like smack the rat, timing is everything when conceiving - a little too soon or a little too late and there's no chance of hitting that egg!

Maybe - FOCUS! Brook no argument and don't allow any external factors to derail you! Here, have a slice of raspberry crumble tart.

musicalmrs · 23/08/2011 13:29

maybebabyR - My socks are currently drying out under the table! And yes - very appropriate term Grin

Wants - poor you! :( What do you teach? I go back in a couple of weeks too... looking forward to having something to take ttc off of my mind!

Imps7 · 23/08/2011 13:30

Eeek, Wants - what happened at docs??

maybebabyR · 23/08/2011 13:32

Oh no Wants was this a smear?

Imps I have just been sitting in a meeting dreaming about making some raspberry crumble cupcakes! Are you a mind reader? Or are we just having the exact same cravings?

Imps7 · 23/08/2011 13:35

We are clearly deffo in tune with the cravings - we're both on CD 23 aren't we?? Raspberry crumble cupcakes are THE official craving for CD 23, apparently. Am sure Bartlet will be able to confirm this, given her medical background.

maybebabyR · 23/08/2011 13:38

We are Imps, indeed we are. Will be useful won't it, able to compare morning sickness, cravings, stretch marks Grin

Yes Bartlet what is your take on this? I am sure I could whip up a little experiment in the lab this afternoon to prove this theory of ours Grin

Imps7 · 23/08/2011 13:42

Oh, Dream I have carried out some intensive decorating research and have a solution to your painted radiator nightmare - this is it! Sorted. I'll send the invoice for my consultancy fee in the post.

Sn0wGoose · 23/08/2011 13:55

Imps It's going ok, took my temp this morning and it had dropped to 36.12 (AF day 2) so looks like I was panicking over nothing with my "low post ov temp" of 36.3-something before (as if we didn't know that!!! ha ha)

DH is interested to follow my chart, esp as you can apparently track changes in your thyroid activity (I'm hypo)

CakePigeon · 23/08/2011 14:39

I managed to avoid a London bus incident by leaping into someone's driveway, I hope they didn't mind!

Hold firm maybe you shall be joining her shortly and summer babies are clearly the best!

Oh no wants bleeding? I really should book a smear test too eek!

Does anyone have tips on charting / identifying the optimum rat smacking days whilst on holiday with flights and an 8 hour time difference?! Ill be far far away when I lay my September egg so I'm concerned about timings Hmm

jaggythistle · 23/08/2011 14:42

do you get ewcm? maybe keep an eye out for that? Or just go for the every other day after AF (add more days if you feel like it) and hope for the best!

your temp might be ok if you get a good sleep? Is there any info in the FF FAQ bit?

jaggythistle · 23/08/2011 14:42

www.fertilityfriend.com/Faqs/BBT-and-Travel.html

here you go :)

farfallarocks · 23/08/2011 14:57

Sorry to post and run I am going to come back and look at the thread properly after work.

Just got a call from my GP and my day 21 progesterone was at 20 which she said confirmed ovulation but suggested poor follicolar development and a luteal insufficiency. She has ordered a repeat test as it was done on 23 instead of 21 (which was a Saturday!) I did ovulate on day 14/15. Any ideas on what normal is?

OP posts:
Wants3 · 23/08/2011 14:59

I run a pre-school [musical] so I will certainly be busy when I get back!
Yes it was smear, taken paracetamol but still feeling rough, not good when have plans for SWI:(

CakePigeon · 23/08/2011 15:09

Thanks jaggy I don't get ewcm so rely on opks and temping. I think I'm a bit too obsessive to just swi every other day, I had a month off from charting this month and hated the lack of knowledge about what was going on!

BartletForAmerica · 23/08/2011 15:10

Babysade, sorry about the BFN. Clearly the pee stick just hasn't realised that you are one of us here and are therefore pregnant. Give it a good talking to and tell it that you'll give it another chance tomorrow. The high LH is certainly encouraging.

Scream, glad your tests are finally more impressive. Clearly you've been pregnant for days but must be reassuring to see the lines agree. I reckon you've just got a dodgy batch. Hope the cramps settle down, and, if they don't, remember they are just getting everything ready for squeak to bed in nicely for the next 8 months.

golden, once AF is over, we just try to DTD every day/couple of days. It is possible to ovulate at any point in the cycle - remember when we had sex ed in school and were told that we could get pregnant during our period, standing up etc? Chocolate fridge cake definitely sounds like a pregnancy craving. In fact, I could do with some as well - so I clearly must be pregnant too.

I can also confirm, with my vast amount of medical knowledge and experience in this area, that raspberry crumble cakes are a sign of pregnancy at CD23. And I know this because I've got letters after my name and everything
