when cb digital pg tests take ages to come up with the result, does that mean, its trying to weigh up if theres enough hcg hormone in there, or if it can find any hcg and is desperatly searching

I think that means it's definitely a negative, because the more hormone it finds, the faster the result comes up.

It won't try to 'weigh' up the result, it will have programmed levels of hormones to return each result. I should think it's programmed that if it doesn't get enough hormone by a set time (the extra long time is takes with with a negative), then to return a negative result.
