How do I know if I'm ovulating?

I've been keeping an eye on my CM but no signs from that. I came off the pill on 26th Oct (then had a bleed obv.) and NOTHING! I've been having some cramps, have got spots on face but no other signs. I'm starting to worry I'm not going to ov.

Any advice? Please!

I always get pains when i ovulate, but thats only recently I never used to!
I think some people get a discharge.

Cadeauxbury · 05/12/2005 10:18

I get increased discharge and am randy as hell. Have had pains in the past but not recently. Everyone is differenty I think. If this is your first period without taking the pill for a while things might be a little scew-wiff for a month or so. I took me a coupld or 3 months to get back to normal after I came off the pill.

Before I went on the Depo injection I used to get the lot - randy, discharge and twinging pains on one side! Hence both DS's were conceived on the first month of trying and I knew to the day when they were conceived!

is it not adviced to wait after coming off the pill before trying anyway?!!!

CaChristmasLista · 05/12/2005 10:24

Sorry for multiple messages, PC is a bit slow today and got carried away clicking!

FlameRobin · 05/12/2005 10:27

I go very very horny when I ovulate . No other signs here!

FlameRobin · 05/12/2005 10:27

Only advised to wait so they can be sure of your dates.

decafgirl · 05/12/2005 11:45

Defo want to wait a bit FR and am off the pill but want to know when I ov coz I have (or had, pre pill) a 42 day cycle. The idea is, I keep track of things for a few months then I'm better prepared when I do start TTC.

Anyone else?

if you look on the fertility friend website, that should give you ideas of other ways to track ov, by taking temperature etc. or you could get one of those pee on a stick type ov kits, or a persona? agree that you might not ov for a couple of months after taking the Pill whilst your body gets back to normal

I second the fertility friend recommendation.

I am like you and have given myself a couple of months to let my body settle and watch what it does. So I have kept my info all recorded there, and it means it is nice and neat and easy to read with lots of helpful information.

Fertility friend takes input mainly from temps and CM, but also looks at any other ovulation signs you enter like ovulation predictor kits, checking the position of your cervix etc - take a look.

By the way, if you get into the OV predictors I recommend reading the pee on a stick.com web site to get it in perspective.

Kelly1978 · 05/12/2005 12:47

I get cramps, spots, a bit ratty and a heavy discharge. I never used to get all that before I had the dts. Prob going to take you a little while to settle down again.

decafgirl · 05/12/2005 14:38

Thanks everyone, that's really helpful - I'm off to look at fertility friend!

The only definite way to knwo is to have blood tests. I'm sure its just to do with coming off the pill but you can have +ve op kits and the right cervical mucus but it may not mean you are actually producing an egg. The ov kits just measure the hormone surge which should release the egg but doesn't always.
