Ladies, we ran out of space on the old thread so here is a sparkly new one with dedicated areas for waggle dancing, hormonal outbreaks of bonkersness, sniffing, injecting and progesterone pessary related fartiness.

For anyone thinking about starting IVF / ICSI or going through it at the moment, do come and say hello. These wonderful ladies have kept me sane through the last few months and are a source of all knowledge concerning tests, down-regging, ov stimulating, DIY injections and much more so if you need any info or just some company, do join us.

So here's a welcome Brew for everyone and an enormous waggle dance for many many more BFPs to come

pumpkin BRILLIANT brilliant brilliant! Another hurdle overcome, you must be so relieved - big ((())), I am delighted for you

Thanks for your kind words and reassurance everyone

Have lovely evenings

zeebee1 · 14/09/2011 21:38

Hi everyone
danny so sorry that things aren't going to plan for you just now - but having 4 in the freezer is great news - congrats.

skitoo thanks things are fine at the mo on the DRs. Last week was hideous(work load part to blame) but I must say my new accupuncture lady is working wonders. She was burning Moxa (sp?) on me on Monday afternoon - a sureal sensation I can tell you! One day when I've got my DS or DD I hope to look back on this time and smile at all the crazy things I did to get preggers! so this week I am a new woman - altho still having hot flushes and a wierd chesty cough, but that might just be a plain old bug!

Bought some LOVELY decaff coffee from Monmouth Coffee house - thanks to caramel for suggesting that - it's delicious and I have bought rather too big a bag I think... Brew Brew Brew

PUMPKIN fantastic news - congrats on all those busy embies! Great news the waggles worked! Smile

Jumping how did it go at the hosp yesterday - are you stimming now? Who's injecting you or your DP/DH? Grin

jumpingjackhash · 15/09/2011 13:13

Delighted for you Pumpkin! Grin

Hey Zeebee! Went well on Tuesday, wonb lining looked good (so they say, I'll never be able to make sense of the ultrasound pics until there's a little person in there!). I started on the Gonal-f injections on Tues too. I'm doing it myself as DH can't be there every day, so I thought I'd better just get on with it [brave emoticon] - I deserve a sticker (or a new pair of shoes) for that, right?

I actually have a question for those who've stimmed... I've started getting the odd twinge / ache where I guess my ovaries (on the left especially), could this be an effect from the drugs - as in they're stimming the ovaries into action already (or just wind or something Blush)?!

Teds77 · 15/09/2011 15:33

pumpkin that's lovely news - well done you xxx

zeebee glad the DR are going okayish. I remember having a few crazy hot flushes Blush

jumping I think I remember having some twinges (but not painful) on the first day or so of stims and then nothing really after that.

I was in the office so late last night and then got woken up by a work call at 6.30am. Ugh. So much to do but just fancy a lovely snooze....

Waves to all the other ladies.

Cloclo15 · 15/09/2011 16:24

Just been catching up with everyone's news - Danny, really sorry to hear about the cancellation, but at least with your frosties youcould have an FET very soon, hopefully when they've sorted the womb lining issue out. Have they suggested any reasons for it?

Pumpkin, fingers crossed for your ET, any news on when it'll be yet?

I start downregging injections in 12 days - hubby is going to do them for me as being a diabetic he is an expert. He thinks the bum is the best place! I'm worried I won't be able to sit down for bruises :/

Do some of you have a spray for downregging then? I wonder why I'm having injections? Is there any particular reason for doing one over the other? Once I start doing stimms I'll be having two injections a day which isn't much fun (though I can't complain in front of DH as he has to have at least four injections every day - not fair!).

bugsylugs · 15/09/2011 19:44

pumpkin great news good luck for ET.
cloclo I have not started yet but my protocol is for DR inj and have to mix and match as opposed to ready loaded syringes. Probably cheaper but not sure.

Lo in bed trying to motivate myself to do some ironing failing at the mo.

hope all have a lovely eveing.
Do you know if you can get monmouth coffee online? will email them

pumpkinjoy · 15/09/2011 20:02

Cloco 12 days will fly by and then its started-i feel like the whole cycle has flown really. The injections will be fine-especially with DH doing them and you can alternate the areas you inject and it will be less sore for you.

Bugsy thanks for the good wishes-when will your DR start? The ironing can wait!

Zeebee-I had moxa done today during acupuncture-weird! I know what you mean about the lenghts we've gone to to get preggers-we will be able to look back on this with relief hopefully.

Jumping yes the stims gave me alot of ovarian pain-sometimes like a stabbing ache-am sure its very normal wht with all the activity going on!

Well, we're preparing for our phone call tomorrow morning about ET. Sort of hoping we'll be postponed for blasto stage which wd be sunday, but what will be will be-there are plenty of success stories from 3 day transfers. Have a horrible fear they will say none of them will be viable for transfer-WHY do I feel so pesimistic-More waggles please girls-they worked last time!
xxx

theowlwhowasafraidofthedark · 15/09/2011 20:08

Good luck pumpkin!

skitoo · 15/09/2011 20:27

Nice to hear you all zen like Zeebee, I've not come across moxa, think I might need to ask for some. I found drinking loads of water kept any nasty side effects away, think I was drinking more than 4 litres a day and obviously spending half of it in the loo too Hmm.

Jumping, glad appointment went well and you got the go ahead for stimming - yes you certainly deserve a new pair of shoes or three!! Twinges are good, means its working Smile.

Cloclo, I had injections for dregging. I was given the option by my clinic and chose the jabs as I was starting in July and can suffer with quite bad hayfever so didn't want any added stress of worrying whether the sniffs were good enough. 2 jabs a day was absolutely fine until right at the end when I was just a bit tender and for once in my life actually wished I was a bit fatter so I had more skin options - you'll be fine and you've obviously got a pro for an assistant.

Keep up the PMA Pumpkin it'll be fine, them men with the white coats and big heads in the lab know what they're doing and they'll absolutely do what they think best for your little embies, a 3 or 5 day transfer. DH is away so am doing a great big waggle conga round the house on my own for you Grin Grin.

It's nearly the weekend - hoorah! xx

jumpingjackhash · 15/09/2011 20:57

Keep on the positives Pumpkin! I'm sure you'll have at least one good one for ET and more to freeze for later!

Cloclo don't worry about the jabs, I was terrified of the thought but they're not as bad as expected! I was sniffing the dereggers (nafarin?) and still need to do some of that. The suppositories are not something I'm looking forward to though!

Thanks ladies for the reassurance on the twinges, good to know it's normal and a good sign! Am also spending half my time on the loo with all the water I'm drinking! Grin

Gardenpixie · 16/09/2011 10:56

Hello lovely ladies,

Just wanted to check in with you all. I am well but feeling slightly in limbo until my first scan (which will be on Wednesday) so I'm trying to stay away from the internet and just take it easy!

I am sending hugs and waggles to you all! Have a lovely weekend!

Hi everyone-thank you for your lovely messages and waggles. Well good news we think-they are holding off to blasto on sunday. One more hurdle overcome. Your waggles do really help-trying to follow Garden and stay away from the internet-mainly about embies not making it to blasto! Sitting on hands! Just sitting it out and following the advice of the clinic...... Have lovely fridays ladies xxx

skitoo · 16/09/2011 14:41

Snap Garden, mine is Wednesday and I'm absolutely petrified Sad

Good news on your blasts Pumpkin, hang in there xx

skitoo · 16/09/2011 14:50

That's rubbish, I'm a day after on Thursday.

bugsylugs · 16/09/2011 15:45

HI
Pumpkin good news on the blasts. one step and one day at a time.
Scan confirmed what I knew. Lots of hanging around at least I was away from other preggers ladies had said it was likely to be bad news and was offered another room. Lovely nurse who gave me quite a bit of info and discussed options. But they need clarification from Cons re results from last week. She saw me in her private rooms as a 'favour' . At present have changed my mind to wait and see what nature does, but can change it again if I want. Cannot really take time off work till end of month complicated, but will if I have to.
Hope everyone has a great weekend. I did a comfort shop in Sainsbury's. taco's lovely looking choc desert (should have got chilled prawns) and am looking forward to a few too many Wine tonight. feel really flat and cannot be bothered. but I think after the weekend will start shred 30 and get back on track.

pumpkinjoy · 16/09/2011 16:34

Am so sorry bugsy-this is very hard and there is no fairness in this world-give yourself time, hope you've got lots of support, and I recommend a good few Wine Wine I've said before there's little to say in this situation that brings comfort-just to know we are here if needed. Sending love to you xxxx

theowlwhowasafraidofthedark · 16/09/2011 18:14

Sorry bugsy. It's so shit sometimes. Thinking of you

zeebee1 · 16/09/2011 19:58

Aw bugsy - thinking of you and sending you ((()))) & sympathy... have a lovely and very indulgent weekend - you deserve it.... what a tough day you've had...

jumping how has your first few injections gone? I'm dreading that - hopefully they will say I start those next Thursday at my next Guys appt...

The DR side effects seem to be much better - could be because I am trying to drink at least 2 litres of water a day - the nurse siad I should be drinking up to 3 litres!! anyway hopefully i;m hydrated enough - I MUST BE!

Have good weekends all - and special hi to Garden skitoo and pumpkin - have good weekends away from the internet Wink

ZB x

Dannygirl · 17/09/2011 10:35

So sorry to hear that bugsy - I really agree with what owl said, it's just shit sometimes. Take a bit of time to give in to your feelings for a while, have a good cry, hide your head under the duvet, and then when you are ready, think about what to do next (although 30 day shred sounds totally unnecessary if you ask me!!). We are all here for you if you need us, big hugs ((())) xxx

jumpingjackhash · 17/09/2011 13:54

Sorry Bugsy, agree with the others, give yourself some time and wine. Thinking of you.

Zeebee the injections really are ok! The nurse who taught me asked at the end if I believed her when she said it wouldn't hurt, I replied that of course I didn't! She's meant to help me feel at ease Wink, bit she was indeed right! Grin. I'm making a real effort to drink 3l of water a day too, I'm forever needing the loo!

Cloclo15 · 18/09/2011 10:55

Good luck with the transfer today pumpkin - hope all goes well :)

ClaireBear54 · 19/09/2011 10:10

Hello all, thought I'd give a wee update following my appointment on Friday. All went well and all stupid questions answered. There's a chance that if they can get me a cancellation fertility nurse appointment this week that I can start my injections on Sunday (day 21). Eek! Otherwise, it'll be next month instead, which is also fine, but now I'm keen to crack on. Did anyone here have the extra blood test that hopefully gives a better indication on hormone levels for the injections and therefore a more accurate results? Just wondering if so how much better it is and whether you've found it helped at all whilst doing all the shots. I notice some of you mention drinking a lot of water...why is that, please?

So, I guess not that much else to report, other than so far, it all went ok and we might be starting sooner than we thought (I'm not holding out much hope for a last minute nurse appointment, however!).

Hope everyone has a good day and had a nice weekend. Waves to all!

jumpingjackhash · 19/09/2011 12:35

Hi ClaireBear, sounds like things are moving along for you! I had a real battery of blood tests and kind of lost track of what they were testing for, but I recall the doctor mentioning my prescription before I had the last round done, so I doubt they'll have been for that. Having said that, I've had a typical reaction to the drugs I've been given, so they did a good enough job so far!

I was told to drink at least 2.5-3litres of water a day when I started injecting my stim drugs (I might have been told that when I was sniffing the de-reggers too but I can't remember and didn't drink much more than usual then). Not quite sure why, guess it's to keep things moving! It's funny how hard it can be to drink so much when you're conscious of how much you should have! There's probably a much better scientific reason for the water though.

Hope you get the appointment so you can start this cycle, if not the next month will go by quickly and you'll soon be on your way! Once it starts it seems to move so fast - it's quite scary!

pumpkinjoy · 19/09/2011 13:34

Hello all-just a quick update from me as am feeling quite nauseous and knackered-is this normal? also TMI alert soooo constipated but thats from the progesterone I guess.

Had x2 blasts transferred yesterday (their advice) and hopefully settling in nicely. Thanks for your well wishes.

Clairebear think the water is to hydrate the follicles and helps 'fatten'them up, assists the numerous drugs through your body and generally keeps you well hydrated.

Lots of love everyone xx

jumpingjackhash · 19/09/2011 14:55

Hi there Pumpkin, hope the nausea passes soon. To blastos - that's surely going to do the job! Keeping everything crossed the take root! x
