Ladies, we ran out of space on the old thread so here is a sparkly new one with dedicated areas for waggle dancing, hormonal outbreaks of bonkersness, sniffing, injecting and progesterone pessary related fartiness.

For anyone thinking about starting IVF / ICSI or going through it at the moment, do come and say hello. These wonderful ladies have kept me sane through the last few months and are a source of all knowledge concerning tests, down-regging, ov stimulating, DIY injections and much more so if you need any info or just some company, do join us.

So here's a welcome Brew for everyone and an enormous waggle dance for many many more BFPs to come

Yay garden! I'm really pleased for you :)

((((( skitoo))))) it only takes one, it only takes one, it only takes one. I hope you get some encouraging news from the clinic tomorrow. Hang in there x

theowlwhowasafraidofthedark · 22/08/2011 18:56

skitoo fingers crossed for you. It really does only take one. I'll be thinking about you tomorrow morning.
gp - yay for Ec wednesday!

Teds77 · 22/08/2011 20:50

Oh skitoo ((((hugs)))) it is difficult to stay optimistic but there is no reason why the perfect golden egg isn't among your 3 xxx. Make sure Mr Skitoo looks after you tonight and I had a naughty Brew and a few [biscuits] between EC and ET which cheered me up no end Smile

GP fabulous news that everything is back on for Weds.

blacktreaclecat · 22/08/2011 20:55

Good luck skitoo
Been for injection training today and got my protocol. Short protocol with 225 of menopur. Due to start beginning October.
Nervous but excited

Dannygirl · 22/08/2011 21:14

Hello again everyone, just back from 2 weeks away (Greece and Yorkshire!), so feeling a whole lot better. I can barely keep up with all the activity on this thread, but it seems soooo much has happened

Huuuuuuuuuge congratulations to all the ladies who have buns of various names in the oven! It's such fantastic news, and I had a few teary moments of joy catching up. It's lovely you are keeping in touch on this thread and encouraging the rest of us!

Garden wow that was a close one but YAY!!!!! Am so delighted for you that EC is going ahead, I bet you can hardly believe it. Will be thinking of you on Wednesday

Skitoo I have everything crossed for you, and am doing major conga-style waggle dancing. It's so hard isn't it, there are so many hurdles in this game but as the other ladies have said it only takes one

Luck your post was so dignified and inspiring, I am sending you big hugs and lots of luck with the new house

Teds, Ellan and Bodeccia hope your little embies are getting snuggly and you are managing to relax a little in this phase

pumpkin great news you are starting up again! Me too....

So AF turned up finally this afternoon so I start my short protocol stims on Wednesday. I have mixed feelings this time, excited but also a bit more wary and I know I will be really fearful about my scans. The consultant has upped my stims this time as my follicles were a bit lazy last time, but they are also now concerned about OHSS so there are even more things to worry about! And breathe....thank goodness for this thread for moral support!

And then on Sat evening I had the pleasure of seeing my parents in laws's friends, one of whom asked when I was thinking of having another baby and another of whom thought I was pregnant already and asked if I was going to find out the sex of the baby! No idea what to say so had to go straight up to bed after that :)

Anyway lots of love and luck to all for this week

xxx

Gardenpixie · 22/08/2011 21:29

I am being naughty and checking in remotely from DH's friend's house so best be quick but just wanted to set up a group waggle for a large sparkly disco ball, a plate of canapés and copious champagne to woo skitoo's eggies and mr skitoo's swimmers to get jiggy tonight.

Have to dash, can someone get out the Barry White CDs...?

Good luck to the little skittles xxxxx

Hi everyone else, will be properly posting tomoz

Garden so glad things are happening - what a rollercoaster this whole IVF lark seems to be!

We had a call from Guys today to bring our first baseline appt forward to Wednesday this week (about 2 weeks earlier than we thought) so we are really pleased - and it suddenly feels so real - and exciting... hope I remain that positive Wink throughout!

dannygirl what is a shortprotocol? Also i feel for you re your in-law's friends comments - I had a wobble at a wedding on Saturday - literally surrounded by women with their babies or who were heavily pregnant who kept telling me - I shouldn't be afraid of having a baby (I didn't give any indication that I WAS afraid!!) Ah well - had a few Wine Wine and danced a lot [glitterball emotocon please] with DH to try and forget!!

Onwards!

hugs to everyone else...

zb

womanlytales · 23/08/2011 08:27

Great news garden - wish you a bumper crop on Weds :) skitoo it takes just one honey - hang tight. bod and teds hope you're finding things to keep busy - less than a week to go bod :)
Wave to everyone and waggles all round.

theowlwhowasafraidofthedark · 23/08/2011 09:32

dannygirl thats so offensive of your in-laws friends. I'm grrrrr on your behalf.

My sister in-law is like this. Last time she brought it up I scowled and told her that dd is so great we don't want another child which is obviously not true (except for the bit about dd!)
skitoo let us know when you hear about the eggs

skitoo · 23/08/2011 10:52

A big thank you to you all for your kind words and thoughts and of course your waggling - loved the conga Dannygirl. Thanks for sneaking on GP and setting up the provisions for the night of lurvvve Grin.

Well 2 of my small crop have fertilised so am in for ET tomorrow, assuming they start dividing today/tonight. Trying to remain positive but obviously now mentalling over success of day 2 transfer - it's a testing process this eh!

Danny, great news on starting tomorrow, we're all here to hold your hand Smile. Am Shock at your in-laws friends, bl*ody cheek.

Zeebee, hoorah at your appointment being brought forward.

Womanly, Owl hope you are well and Bodeccia not mentalling too much.

Teds I was thinking of pate as a nice inbetween EC/ET treat, or is that just too bad Hmm.

Waves to everyone else and thanks again xx.

pumpkinjoy · 23/08/2011 11:01

Skitoo WHOOP WHOOP YAY!! Am really pleased for you and Mr Skitoo-OOhh Pate-go for it! Am dreaming of oysters prawns mayonaise hollendaise sauce and a runny egg all drizzled into one for my treat! Good luck for tomorrow-everything crossed and joining the back line of the conga-Whoop whoop! xx ((( ))) xx

Cloclo15 · 23/08/2011 11:03

Hi all, just checking in to see how everyone is going on.

Yay for your 2 embies skitoo and fingers crossed for ET tomorrow :)

Good luck starting tomorrow Danny

DH is going in for his sperm freezing on Thursday morning, I think he will try to book the appt with the nurse to go through the injections while he is there as it seems to be near impossible to get through on the phone. If he can get that booked in for next week, there is every chance we could be doing our first injections by the end of September after all, provided his sperm freeze alright - fingers crossed!

Teds77 · 23/08/2011 11:10

skitoo so glad that your eggs got jiggy last night Smile I think that pate with a bit of brie on the side sounds lovely Grin

Danny lovely news that you are starting again. People are so insensitive sometimes! I think it was carebear to whom it was suggested that maybe she "could always keep dogs instead" Shock which reminds me, we haven't heard from care for ages - do hope you are okay if you're reading this x.

Gardenpixie · 23/08/2011 18:40

Yay skitoo for your embies hurrah!

The ovitrelle has made me very pukey ... Have been in bed most of the day feeling vile so i'm going to head off now to try to eat something before going back to bed

Will post tomorrow once I get home.

Lots of love to everyone

Xxxx

Good luck for tomorrow gp

pumpkinjoy · 23/08/2011 19:23

Best of luck for tomorrow Garden will be thinking of you and waggling like mad-rest up and sleep peacefully xxx ((( ))) xxx

Dannygirl · 23/08/2011 19:41

skitoo really really good news - you have two, that's so great, very best of luck for ET tomorrow

And garden you too, hope it goes fantastically well With EC tomorrow and you feel better now

zeebee it's fab things are starting sooner than you had thought, the excitement is a really nice positive feeling isn't it. My protocol is officially called 'antagonist' which I have always thought was an odd name. It's a type of short protocol which means I don't need to do the down regging but just start straight onto the stims which make the ovaries produce eggs (hopefully). Think it's also known as a kind of IVF lite

Shock at all your experiences of people saying stupid and insensitive things about having babies. It really is unbelievable isn't it, that people assume that just because you don't have a baby/ another baby it must mean for some reason you don't want one....

Off for a Brew and psyching myself up for starting injecting again tomorrow. Although I seem to remember the thought of it was worse than actually doing it!

Teds77 · 23/08/2011 19:51

Moving so fast again! Lots of luck to GP and skitoo for tomorrow and lovely news clo that you could be starting sooner than you think.

koolforcats · 23/08/2011 20:45

Garden all the very, very best tomorrow lovely. If you're feeling at all queasy in the morning, do tell them as they'll be able to give you something. I've previously felt/been a bit sick after anaesthetics so I told them and they gave me something when I was still under so I was fine. I really have eerything crossed for you xx

skitoo · 23/08/2011 20:51

Garden, sorry to hear the hcg jab has has a horrible effect on you, poor you, hope you're feeling better now after food and rest.

Everything crossed for a super bunch of eggies tomorrow - mahoosive waggles for you sweetie xx.

Danny, good luck for starting the jabs again tomorrow.

Louiseteacher30 · 23/08/2011 21:13

Hi everyone,

Not been online much as had a couple of scares, firstly developed OHSS post my BFP which was very odd, had dehydration and upset stomach for a whole week- rubbish! Secondly started cramping badly so hot footed it to the university college hospital this aft as they are amazing and scan you within 2 hrs without an appointment. Anyway the dr could see one pregnancy sac measuring 4-5 weeks (am 5 wks + 1) I was slightly worried that it was dated behind but dr not worried at all. She did see lots of follicles still on my ovaries and said this was the reason for cramping, upset tummy etc. Wondering when they start to disappear??!

Anyway good luck to garden and skitoo great big hugs, thinking of you.

Waves to everyone! Sorry for impersonal message still feeling rough xxxxx

pumpkinjoy · 24/08/2011 09:02

Meant to say skitoo also thinking of you xxxx

womanlytales · 24/08/2011 10:12

gosh louise that is quite odd tohave OHSS post your BFP. Great news about your scan and that your dr is not worried at all. what did the doctor say could be done to help calm your ovaries? Hope you start to feel better quickly.
garden best of luck my dear - have a lovely EC.
Skitoo best of luck for ET.
Wave to everyone else and lots of waggles for all of us in our different stages.

Thirdtimeluckypleasexx · 24/08/2011 13:42

Hi, can I say hello - I've been watching for a bit - we are in Norway on honeymooon and going through ICSI - Yesterday we had 7 egg collected and were told this morning that 4 had fertilised :)

I'm 40 an DH is 57 - male issues mostly but I've had 2 ectopics in the past so only have one repaired tube left! (although we had a natural BFP after that which ended in MMC :( )

We are here until Sunday and am wondering about the benefit of a later transfer than tomorrow morning?

Hope all is well with everyone and fairdust to all - must change my nickname though as this is no longer 3rd time - I do have 2 lovely DS from a previous marriage though so I know how lucky I am xx

NewRoadToHappinessxx · 24/08/2011 13:51
