Dd2 was born June 2005 and we would really love to have another baby very soon. hope to start trying in Feb or march just wondering if it is safe to have another pregnancy after only 7 months as Dd2 was born by cesarian and i wasn't sure of the risks.

My pal who works in the NHS (not in this field) and had a cs said to me recently that it's probably good to allow your body a year to recover but I'm sure someone here will be able to give you firmer guidance.

hi, i spoke to my health visitor and se said she doesnt like to say as it depends on the individual circumstances but she refered me to my gyni (sp?) who had all my notes and everything and he said he'd be happy for me to wait 6 months. as it happened my first af didnt arrive until 2 months ago so we have been officially ttc#2 for 2 months now and ds is 8 months old now. maybe you should speak to your gyni and see what he/she says? i had no complications after my first section and was out of hospital by day 3. i had an emergancy section and have decided that when i get pg again i wan to have an elective section as i was induced last time, had 4 days of trying to get into labour and ended with emcs and a large 9lbs1oz baby(i'm only 4'11") i would speak to your gyni cos they will have all your notes and know why you had a section last time.
hope that helps a little?
luv sarahlou xx

My Ob told me at my 6wk appt to wait for my first period and not before. My first period arrived three months post partum, tried that month and didn't get preg but succeded in next cycle. My second preg wasn't anymore difficult or painful from the scar, I was just more tired as I couldn't just go and lie down when I felt like it. DD was 13mths when DS born. Recovered even quicker from my second C-Section.

did s/he tell you why you need to wait for a period first?

DD is now 15 months & was born via an emergency section under g.a. We're trying for another which I am hoping will be a VBAC. I was advised that it's better for the body to wait at least a year. However a friend that had her DS a week before I had DD is expecting her second after Christmas!!! That's just 17 months between them & she's elected to have another section!!!

Haven't been on for a while! He wanted me to have one period first for dating purposes I think.
