A little note of caution for Clomid newbees

Hi ladies,

I just finished my first cycle of Clomid and I had almost allowed myself to believe I was going to get a BFP. My cycle is 24 days ... and yesterday was the 28th day ... but just as i was unwrapping the test AF arrived. She is so unwelcome.

So - just a little note of caution that Clomid can extend the length of your cycle - which my consultant didn't mention could happen - so just don't get your hopes up if you're a few days late.

Oh no Littlesweep - how disappointing. Thank you though for the warning. I am due to start Clomid on day 2 of my next cycle even though I don't have irregular cycles so I can just guarantee that had AF been even 5 minutes late I would have been there ready to test.

Fingers crossed you get a BFP for real next month xx

The silly thing is that the first time I fell pg (when I had the mmc) I just knew - with every fibre in me that I was. This time I didn't feel it - and I said to myself very early on that I wasn't preg. Then ... as AF took longer and longer to arrive I let myself believe. I'm cross with myself more than anything else.

Oh I know what you mean - I manage to let myself do that every month even before AF is late! You'd think after 19mths of ttc I would know better.

Every month I promise myself I won't do it and every month I find something else that makes me thing maybe this is the month.....

How long have you been ttc?

I think because we are ttc no 2 there is a bit of me that thinks it must be able to work, so I can never give up hope of a little miracle. If we have done it before why can't we do it again? xx
