Odd Black Flaky Discharge After Examination?

I am hoping someone on here can help me? I had an appointment with my Doc today as have been off the pill for nearly a year and actively trying to get pg for 8 months with no success (am 39). She agreed to refer me on now to local fertility unit, but suggested "checking me down below" first. So she did a good exam internally, poking and prodding around and pushing on my abdomen. Wasn't too bad (I figured there would be worst to come when hopefully one day a baby does come along!). Anyway, I was on the tail end of my period today, it had pretty much finished up, but here's the weird thing, since the exam this morning when I wipe I get little black flaky things on the tissue. Has all the poking around disturbed something? Has anyone had a similar experience or know what I am talking about, or what it could be? Not overly concerned about it, just curious.

Could just be very old dried blood, would be my guess :)
