Trying to fall pregnant on Clomid

Hi my husband and I have been trying to fall pregnant for 2 years now. I have completed my first round of clomid and am having a blood test done tomorrow, are there any 1st time clomid success stories as Im so scared and nervous, im trying not to get to excited as dissapointment has creeped in to many times

Please help I really need the encouragement

I'm afraid I don't have a success story (yet) but just wanted to say hello - I'm in the same boat.
Have only been trying for just over 6 months which I know isn't that long but was concerned about my late ovulation and short luteal phase so practically begged a fertility consultant for a course of Clomid!
First month (50mg) didn't make much of a difference so took 100mg this cycle. CD10 today so we'll see what happens.
How much are you trying? Is the blood test to verify that you ovulated? Where are you in your cycle? x

Oh by 'how much are you trying' I meant in terms of drug dose - not anything else! x

I'm joining you even though I haven't started taking Clomid yet. Like you Tara we've been trying for 2 years now and will start trying when AF arrives in about 2 weeks. How have you felt on it? Any side effects?

Yes fingers crossed we all get good results!
I felt fine on 50mg although I had hot flashes every so often which would wake me up at night (I took the pill just before bed). But nothing too bad.
Bizarrely, on 100mg I didn't get any hot flashes at all (this time took 50mg in the morning and 50mg in the evening).
The only difference I can feel so far is that on 100mg, up until a few days ago I was getting a kind of gnawing pain in each of my ovaries. So I hope that's them producing lots of follicles of which one or more will become dominant and release some super strong eggs!
Good luck - I'm sure you'll be fine. Guess you're starting on 50mg? And do you ovulate on your own already?

I'd love to join you too if that's ok as am going to my GP on Tuesday to discuss my Luteal phase defect (I start cramping and spotting typically 3dpo) and to discuss clomid and progesterone and whether these will help me

I am at my wits end with my early bleeding and am also prepared to beg for a course of treatment or at least a referal to the fertility clinic for further investigation! xxx

my hubby and i have been trying to concieve for about 9 months, i have PCOS and have undergone 5 rounds of clomid to no avail. Advice definately take the tablets in the evening if you can remember i've had 50mg, 100mg 150mg and 200mg and massive headaches and cramp, the last 2 cycles i took them in the evening and it definately helped.

Just waiting for my appointment letter for laparoscopy been waiting 13 weeks even though they said it would be 12... Fingers crossed for you... it will happen for us :-)

I do not know much about clomid but just wanted to say that two of my friends ttc with clomid and nothing happened. They eventually asked for a laproscopy (sorry not sure of spelling). One fell pregnant the following cycle and the other the cycle after. The 2nd then went onto conceive a 2nd baby 8 mths after giving birth naturally. I know altogether five people who have conceived after a laproscopy and none of them had any symptoms except just not being able to conceive. They all had mild endometriosis and had some scar tissue. So if you have not had this done maybe you should consider this. I will also point out that only one of the five's doctors suggested getting this done. The rest were told by friends. I told one of them to try it and that is the friend who had two babies.

Lap and drilling all done now! So fingers crossed for my next consultant appointment

Hi! Just wanted to give you all some hope! We were trying for 6 months w no luck (not long I know but I was getting on with age). Got sent to fertility specialist who gave me some clomid) with the proviso that we'd have a lap scheduled in anyway if it didn't work.
And we got pregnant in the first round! so we conceived finally after nearly a year.

2nd baby was conceived naturally after trying for about 4 months. So it can be done! I think I only have 1 ovary so they think it's rather miraculous. DS and DD are now 3.5 years old and 10 months old.

Hi, good luck. I have been ttc for over a year now and am on round 2 of taking clomid (50mg) and had a laparoscopy in March. No side effects. I know many success stories on clomid and hoping for the same although I am now 39 so dont feel that time is on my side.

Can I join you ladies. We have been trying for our first baby for about 18 months. Had Laparaoscopy in January where they found I had mild endo, they also did ovarian drilling too as I have mild PCOS. Still not pregnant
Went to my consultant on Tuesday and he has given me 3 months supply of 50mg clomid . Really excited about it as it has given me fresh hope, really want this to be my miracle cure. DH petrified that is is going to make me some hormonal monster! Hopefully start taking it in about 2 and a half weeks. Although if my period is early we may be in our holiday home in the west country for when I am due for the scan so trying to work that out at the moment.
