New thread as the old one was getting to 1000. So, 4 BFP's in the last thread, lets see if we can up the total considerably on this one :)

OP posts:
Purplelooby · 25/07/2011 11:12

biscuit that is fantastic - congratulations!! I'm so glad we have a lucky BFP on here. Definitely a BFP by the way. So - lucky things come in 3s: who's next?

fatima you should definitely push for the urologist because there are quite a few things that it could be that are treatable. How is your DH feeling?

I'm feeling positive because I went to the GP (the sexy one) and he gave me Emla cream for the blood tests. It's a stupid thing I know, but suddenly the fear is gone and I am genuinly excited for the appointment with the fertility specialist on the 10th August (by the way I also want to know the answer the peaceport's question for this reason - I heard that they give you an ultrasound).

One pooey thing though - flying to Malta on Weds and guess when AF is due? Yep - Weds. I had been hoping this would be the month so that I could have an AF-free hols (and for other more important reasons, natch) but my symptoms are exactly what I expect for AF coming so I'm 99.9 % sure that it's another null-month...

Peaceport · 25/07/2011 11:13

Yay Biscuits! Sooo glad and excited for you! Please don't go away yet, stay and rub some bfp luck our way.

Peaceport · 25/07/2011 11:14

Cross post purple - my apt date is August 16th, so please tell me all about it!

Biscuitsandtea · 25/07/2011 11:16

Purple what sort of an ultrasound were you thinking of?

My GP referred me for an internal ultrasound before we went to the fertility clinic (I was getting cramps mid cycle and when he pressed on my tummy it felt really tender on one side. Clever me now knows that the cramps were prob ov cramps but I had no idea there was such a thing. Neither did my GP clearly!)

I have no idea though if they normally do that at the fertility clinic? Interesting to know though?

FatimaLovesBread · 25/07/2011 13:04

Ooh peaceport and purple my fertility specialist appt is on the 9th aug so I'll be able to let you both know. My letter says allow two hours so they must do something other than ask questions Confused

I'm on 7dpo, had some cramping on 3dpo and some spotting on 5 dpo but after receiving DHs SA I'm guessing it'll be another null month for me too

I hope there's some more BFPs soon Grin

NervousNelly · 25/07/2011 13:27

Congratulations biscuit. keeping everything crossed for sticky bean Smile

9DPO here. Still no signs. And it's Monday. Meh.

popcorn78 · 25/07/2011 14:25

Biscuit I am so, so happy about your bfp! We definitely deserved one on thus thread, hope there are many more to come.

I'm on CD 10 and feeling quite chilled. Just ordered DH some pine bark to help the swimmers. Peaceport, do you mind me asking what dosage your DH is taking? The tablets I have ordered are 150mg. I might take them myself as they seem to have a huge range of health benefits (it's not like Im taking many supplements at the moment Wink)

Interested to hear about the fertility appointments. We're waiting our letter for the initial consultation.

Love to all x

poutintrout · 25/07/2011 16:19

Do stick around Biscuits you can be our symptom spotting expert?!

Just thought that I'd chip in about my experiences first time at the gynae/fertility clinic for those waiting to go - though it was way back last October. I really just wanted to caution against expecting loads of answers and instant remedies (I don't mean to be a wet blanket but I remember feeling so excited at the thought of going and came out feeling a bit flat). There weren't many questions to be honest, certainly not as many as I was expecting though maybe the clinic I went to was a bit crap. We were asked how often we were having sex, whether we drink & smoke, what our diet was like (I remember being [shocked] when I told him I was doing the Low GI diet and he told me not to bother because who can resist pizza and white bread), whether I'd been pregnant before and whether DP had fathered other children & how regular my cycle was. He then ordered an HSG and SA and that was it! My subsequent two appointments were a bit better because we saw a different doctor who was very nice and she allowed me to ask her questions without rolling her eyes! I would say if you are unlucky enough to get a doctor with a less than great bedside manner don't be cowed by it like I was. Stand your ground & get the most out of the appointment Smile

Well it seems like there are quite a few of us on about 8dpo. I'm 8 or 9dpo and pretty much nada to report so am feeling a bit flat and sure that it is a failure month again! I had loads of headaches last week but they seem to have gone today so I reckon that I am just getting myself in a state about our imminent homelessness & lack of house to go to & making myself feel ill! Still I am happy to report that we did manage to find a pocket of squalor in an otherwise leafy & nice area at the weekend. Me and DP drove up to the house and then drove away again without even going inside Blush Between the futility of looking for a house and baby making I am losing the will to live!!!

Biscuitsandtea · 25/07/2011 16:21

Pout - that sounds very similar to our first fertility clinic appt in May. And I second what you say about being sooooo excited to go and then come out no further forward.

skeletonbones · 25/07/2011 17:20

congratulations Biscuits! I've looked at your pic and I can clearly see two lines too. so you are our 6th graduate all in all, second on this thread, you and hophopehope have given me some hope that BFP's do happen past the 12 month mark Smile so pleased for you, and make sure you stick around to tell us how its all going, cheers for sharing the symptoms too, always usefull to hear if the 2ww was different or the same for those who have been sucessfull compared to an ordinary month.
I have just finished my period, after the initial disapointment of AF I think the time when I definately cant be pregnant is my favorite bit of the month, no symptom spotting, no PMT and no immenent failure on the horizon so I am feeling great at the moment Grin

OP posts:
Biscuitsandtea · 25/07/2011 17:24

Liking your positive outlook Skeleton. I had a theory though that technically, if this turns out to be your month (fingers crossed) then they count the start of the pregnancy as CD 1, so in a way you are definitely pregnant now.

I did try this logic with DH as to why I, for example, couldn't possibly go downstairs to fetch something I'd forgotten, because I was obviously in fact anywhere between 1 day and 4 weeks pregnant at any given point in time.

And then if AF is mean enough to turn up you just reset your counter to 1 day pg again.

I'm not sure he bought my faultless logic though......

eurochick · 25/07/2011 17:48

Pout another one here at 9dpo.

Biscuits I suspect my husband wouldn't fall for that one either...

Biscuitsandtea · 25/07/2011 18:59

Oooh, just remembered another symptom I forgot earlier. I felt really bloated around the time of ovulation and for a few days after. I know that is a common ov symptom but not one I normally get.

NervousNelly · 25/07/2011 19:00

So are all the other 9DPO-ers as symptomless as me? (phone was going auto-correct mad on that sentence).

Biscuits I feel I should say Congratulations again, and do more of these faces Grin. When I re-read my previous post I thought I sounded very insincere, which wasn't my intention. Work has just been rubbish since I arrived at my desk this morning, and as I expect to be here a while longer, you can interpret that as my day not getting any better, sigh. Still, a BFP should be reason to celebrate, so I will do more of this Grin in your honour! And when I finally get home I might have a sneaky gin in your name too Wink.

Biscuitsandtea · 25/07/2011 19:07

Aw Nelly that's very sweet of you - and thank you for thinking of my sticky bean (or at least hoping it is a sticky bean). There was really no need though, but I'll lap up all the congratulations I can get Blush. It really hasn't sunk in yet and I don't think I'll believe until at least another 2 bfps agree with today. Have a FR primed for tomorrow morning and CBDs winging their way from Amazon to me.

Anyway, I hope your rubbish work day is over soon. It's awful when you just have one of 'those' days. I might raise a caffeine free diet coke or a glass of Schloer in celebration of you getting through a pants day at work.

I really wish I'd drunk a bit more now while ttc - I'm gonna miss it......

eurochick · 25/07/2011 19:14

Nelly yes, pretty symptomless here. Breasts much less tender than last month (when they were exceptionally painful), 2ww cramps much milder than most recent months, no nausea. However (TMI alert) I am a human whopee cushion today (blaming the jalepenos at lunch for that) and last week was the most constipated I have been in my life (no idea on the cause of that). Many months I have felt pretty pregnant. This month I don't at all.

Oh well, AF is due on Saturday (missing my holiday for once) and work stress should ease off after this week, so I'll be ready for the next cycle.

Peaceport · 25/07/2011 19:48

Hello All.

biscuits hope you are still on cloud nine Grin

I'm in that blissful part of my month, like skeleton. Period over with no spotting (yay) not ovluated, peace of mind. I have to say, I'm on a downer with ttc at the moment. Have had more wine than in previous months (not difficult) and can't be bothered to temp or opk check. Well, thats today anyway. It's hard to stay saintly whe. It isn't getting you anywhere.

popcorn dh is on 100mg I think of the pine bark. I found a health shop nr us that does 30 for 9.99, which whilst prob not our cheapest option, it didn't feel as much as a sting each time.

My brother in Japan is having is appendix out, I hate that, it's just too far away.

Also, in looking at what a hsg entails (not really breaking symptom spotting googling) I've discovered that if you have a shellfish allergy this is a problem because the dye is derived from shellfish. Rage!!!

Thanks pout for the insider knowledge. I hope I get a lovely person.

skeletonbones · 25/07/2011 20:49

see biscuits you can really believe in our congratuations on here, we know what a relentless slog this TTC buisness can be, the endless timed shagging, the diet/lifestyle changes, spending life savings on vit suppliments, digital preg tests, consoling vats of wine and pet snakes Grin Our congratulations are like a manly slap on the back from one marathon runner to the other at the end of a race Grin

my clear blue fertility monitor came in the post today, and I am IMPATIENT I want use it right this minute now, but as I am day 7 not day 1, I will have to wait till next month.

OP posts:
NervousNelly · 25/07/2011 21:06

I am now making up a symptom of feeling sick. It's actually because I'm still in the office so having gummy mix for my dinnerHmm.

I wanted to comment on other replies but now can't remember which ones. I should probably get back to work anyway Angry

Pixiepops · 25/07/2011 21:18

AF's just reappeared, so it's blood tests for me tomorrow Sad

Not really sure now whether cd 1 was Friday or today, but I figure that I should be between days 1-5 tomorrow whichever so OK to have the first test done. AF was definitely heavier today than Friday though...

Out of interest has anyone else had a period stop & then start again? I had really uncomfortable cramps when it stopped too. Not really sure what's been going on Confused

Biscuitsandtea · 26/07/2011 06:13

Sorry to hear that Pixie Sad fingers crossed next month is yours.

I did a FR this morning and got a nice strong BFP which is very reassuring.

I have now instantly started mentalling about whether I should have more symptoms or not, but I suspect that will be my new general state of mind for (hopefully) the next 36 weeks or so!!

I still have everything crossed for all you lovely ladies. Even in the short time I've been on this thread you have all given me soooo much support so thank you.

And remember, we'd been trying for 19 months and I had really given up hope of it working naturally. We were looking down the barrel of Clomid / IUI / IVF. EVERYONE who I've talked to about this tells me about someone who got of just as they were about to intervene, and I didn't think it would be us too. I suppose my point is to try and stay strong. TTC this time has been one of the hardest and most stressful things we have gone through - unless you've been here you would never imagine what it does to you.

We have a difficult time ahead to get through this but I feel positive that even if for some reason this pg isn't meant to be (I am of course hoping so much that it IS!!) we have managed to conceive which is a darn sight more than we had done so far. I see the pregnancy as a series of hurdles and jumps to get over and we were well and truly stuck at that first jump so now we can tackle the others one at a time. Let's say 30 days down, 250 to go Confused

Sorry for that ramble and hope you ladies are ok this morning. xxxxxxxxx

popcorn78 · 26/07/2011 10:04

Morning ladies,

Biscuits thanks for that. It is very reassuring to know it can happen naturally after 19 months. I hope you can relax a bit more now you've got a nice strong line. Xxx

Pixiepops · 26/07/2011 11:27

Thanks Biscuit I'm feeling a bit brighter this morning & have had my first blood tests too so hopefully we're still moving in the right direction. Poor DP looked a little crushed that his SA was back on the cards though! Wink

Fingers crossed for a trouble free 250 days & lots of luck for the rest of us. Smile

poutintrout · 26/07/2011 12:00

Biscuit Congratulations on your strong line Grin I agree that it had given me hope that maybe getting pregnant can just take a bit of time for some people!

Pixie Sorry that AF has got you this cycle.

Euro Your bunged up bowels are catching Smile. I got a little bit excited (obviously a perfectly normal reaction to constipation!) until DP ruined it by saying that he too was suffering on that front so I expect it is more to do with the hundred weight of Yorkshire pudding I hoovered up on Sunday & the stodgetastic scones I made rather than imminent updiffedness!

Nelly I sympathise with the feeling sick thing. I feel sick most mornings because I am tired & still get my hopes up every bloody cycle.

Biscuit Having read your symptoms I am actually hoping to find spots. I think I have finally lost the plot.

joycep · 26/07/2011 14:11

Congrats again biscuits! I must say every month I wish I would get AF cramps because this seems to be such a common symptom - where you think game over but AF never comes.
Pout - I also examined my face this morning to see if I had spots as that was a symptom I had last time. But not a bloody spot in sight! Damn. We are cycle buddies this month. I don't even have sore boobs this month, it's definatly a no hoper for me. So have you found a place to move to?
