Boots fertility monitor, do I don't I??

I know its very expensive, but after 10 months of ttc and a mc, I'm getting to that point now!!
Has anyone brought one?
Got any advice?
Do I don't I that is the question???

I think most people go with the CB monitor, might be worth asking on their thread why they chose that one?!
I've never really bothered just gone ny my chart tbh.

Hi I have just bought my CBFM off amazon for £55 instead of a hundred from boots if that is any good to you? I can't use it until next month though :(
I fell for marketing and that everyone seems to use this monitor!

I cracked and bought a CBFM this month, but still tempted by the £500 version - think will hold off for a while, though!

I am only a few months off my fertility referral so I won't be splashing out on the £500 one! Have you started using your cbfm?

Am on CD4 so just started, purple - get to POAS the day after tomorrow. I have just been referred to a specialist - hoping that and buying the monitor are just the trigger I need to get updiffed!

hi thanks for the responses,doesnt the CBFM measure your LH surge? like OV sticks?
im tempted by the boots one as it measures your temps throughout the day and as as i get up different times every day because i have a mobile job its difficult to take my temp myself so this seems like the perfect solution for me??

I got pregnant first go with the CB! I bought it second hand- I consider it my lucky monitor and will use it straight away if I ttc again. Good luck.

ive been looking at both monitors and think im going to get the clearblue one off amazon thats on offer at £55 if not successful in the next 2 months, then if not successful with that one try the boots one

£500 is alot of money for me, ive actually been saving £100 a month since we decided to try so it would wipe out our 'baby fund' but theres not much point in having some money saved up for a baby if we cant conceive one!!!

Love my monitor arrived when I was on day 6 so I have to wait until next cycle. Is it easy to use?
After spending nearly £70 including the sticks this month, not even being able to use them + buying myself some new clothes which I have been avoiding as if I get updiffed then I won't fit them. I am sure to get pregnant this month right?

Mrsb one of the main things that puts me off the £500 monitor is that a consultation at a private fertility clinic would cost less. You must be eligible for referral to a fertility clinic shortly as well?

2 more months for me, now on cycle 10 after a mmc back in sept last year, im not sure, still very tempted especially as u get your £ back if you dont conceive in a year!
Also going to give the clear blue ago, a very kind lady on a regular thread gave me hers as she no longer has use for it. So best of both worlds! X

I use the cbfm and it is pretty good. It measures both lh and oestrogen, so is more accurate than ov sticks. I read some pretty 'so-so' reviews about the boots monitor, as I was tempted originally. People were complaining that the sticks patches don't stick well and need constant replacing, so works out even more expensive. Also getting money back is a right faff as you have to get doc to sign off that you've used it properly for a whole year.

All the boots monitor really does is tell you the right time - the cbfm will do that too and is so much cheaper, so although I'm probably biased, I think it is the better option. You could use the money you saved to get a few extra private tests done , or try acupuncture (or just a new handbag!)

Mrsb33 - I have been using the expensive fertility monitor (I didn't have to pay out for it because I was using it as part of a fertility study comparing Clearblue OPK and the fertility duo and the ladycomp.)

Well I got pregnant on the second month of using it (means I have to drop out of the fertility study!) This is after 10 months of not concieving after m/c's.

The customer support with it is excellent, and using the machine is really really easy, much easier than having to do the pee sticks or sticking a thermometer in your mouth each morning.

However it is alot of money, I had already spent tons of money on fertility specialists, so I don't think I would have spent the money on the boots monitor, but having said that..... I am pregnant again!

Purple - I did my first POAS this morning. It does seem v easy and is certainly much easier than trying to gauge which line is darker on the cheap ov sticks I was using before. Also like that you can use FMU as was previously doing two tests a day at work so seemed to spend half my day hiding in the loo!

That does sound easier, I never got a true positive on my cheap opks although my line got thicker. I am urging my cycle to hurry up and be over so I can use the cbfm, also we are having a month 'off' so really don't think it will happen.
