Anyone else really fed up of people on facebook going on and on and on and on and on about their pregnancies? I've got a couple of friends pregnant at the minute, and they update every 2 seconds about every little kick or craving or sleepless night. I can't tell them to stop because thats just mean, but I get so frustrated. How can they be complaining about something that I'd give my right arm for? And as for that app that tells you about whats happening for every day of the pregnancy... OMG so annoying. I'd delete them but then I'd get found out.

I am fed up of them too but I know it's only because I'm extra sensitive too it after ttc for 11 months with no success. I have friends who update with every little detail and I hate the smugness of it all but that's because I'm so jealous. I always think that people who post so much about their pregnancies must have conceived easily because I know that if I ever do get pregnant I will be very sensitive to the fact that others may be struggling and won't want their faces rubbed in it.

I hide them, you look at the post on news feed and press 'hide posts from this person'. One friend had a 'this is how big my baby is week by week'. And he's a bloke, expecting his 5th! Pads the sick bowl.

we've all been there. i'm half tempted to change my sttus to 'melliebobs will actually come round n personally beat the next pregnant person to moan about their pregnancy with a wet kipper. Don't you all realise how lucky you are!?'

Ah - just blocked a 'friend' for going on and on about it. She has a due date a week after mine was meant to be (had a miscarriage) - she doesn't know that though that she is giving me continuous coverage of where I should. Thought I could unblock her in a bit but maybe the hide posts is a better idea. Thanks havealittlefaith!

It's so very, very hard. I do understand that. It took me a long time, a couple of cps and a miscarriage to conceive dd and hearing about pregnancy in ridiculous detail hurt. But I also knew that it was my problem and how they chose to experience pregnancy was totally up to them. It was in my power to remove myself from it (hide the fb posts for example).

And it's difficult I know but people can't mediate their feelings through the experiences of other people. Morning sickness, spd, heartburn etc are bloody difficult and wearing on a day to day even hour to hour basis and this fact (and the need to express it) doesn't change because of others' situations.

I think if people are being knowingly insensitive to you when you're struggling to conceive then it's different but let them celebrate and difficult as it is, accept that it's not done to hurt you. And yes they'll need to whinge sometimes too. Every bit has its trials: ttc, pregnancy, birth, parenting and it's really a good thing that people are able to express it and be supported through it, regardless of which stage they're at.

My BiL used to go on and on about how annoying it was that him and sis seemed to produce children just by looking at each over, how it was such hard work and you didn't realise how great it was to have the freedom of childlessness until you had one. Drove me nuts! He stopped when I rather pointedly said that so far it seemed this wasn't going to be a problem for me anytime soon so at least there was a silver lining for those of us who didn't get pregnant quite so easily Hmm

now don't get me wrong I accept peoples need to vent or celebrate sometimes but constant smug updates as if they are the first people in the world to have managed the amazing feat of reproduction just piss me right of!

by the way I find this site never fails to cheer me up if you haven't seen it already stfuparents.tumblr.com Grin
