Day 7 progesterone and rubella immunisation
Day21 fsh/lh

I've been googling and these days look wrong???

Bugger based on this he has hasn't he.

What do you think should do?

He has. Call the surgery tomorrow and ask him to leave a new set at the reception for you. Doesn't give you much confidence does it!

He couldn't find his sheet with it on, so he looked it up in a book... Gawd knows how he got it wrong!

Hi, those are definitely the wrong way round. FSH and LH should be tested days 2-4, or there a bouts, and progesterone on day 21 approx, or 7 days after ovulation is your cycles aren't around 28 days. I believe that rubella immunity can be done any day of the cycle so could be done when you go in for any of your other blood tests. Good luck

My cycles are about 24 days.

Do you think I should just go on the right days? It's not as if the blood test ladies will be able to tell!

I'd probably square with the surgery first as you don't know what he's written on their paperwork. Good thing you noticed.

I agree they are very much the wrong way around... also with a 24 day cycle you should go 7 days before your AF/period is due... OR of you know when you ovulate 7 days post ovulation...

He also should probably check some other stuff if these are the bloods you need before a referral (though expect that varies locally)

I would also say these tests have been put the wrong way around as well.

Sounds like the GP does not have a clue re possible fertility issues; it does not bode well either for correct interpretation of the results. I would be asking to see another GP now within the practice and longer term change gp's.

Usually LH and FSH are tested at the beginning of the cycle as these two hormones kickstart the ovulation process. These two hormones need to be compared against each other and not just looked at separately.

Day 21 is a standard test done to measure progesterone. I would say that if your LH/FSH levels are out of sync then progesterone will be affected too.

The day 21 test is to check ovulation has happened - progesterone is made by the degenerating part of the ovary left behind when the egg is released....

If Your tests are prior to a fertility referral he should maybe add a few more, oestradiol and testosterone and one more which I forget... usually to the day 2 bloods
