Has anyone had an x-ray in the 2ww?

I'm 3 dpo and i need to have a chest x-ray & worried incase i am pregnant.
Can i ask them to put something over my stomach to protect me just incase i am.

I suppose it depends on how much you need the xray. I'm a nurse and we have to move to at least 6 ft away if a baby needs an xray, and when I was in the 2 ww when I was pg with dd even though I hadn't tested yet the hospital refused to give me a dental X-ray. But if you are ill and need an xray that can't be postponed then it's more important to look after yourself. In Lesley Regan's book she says that modern xrays are very unlikely to cause any damage and that you would need a whole series of abdominal xrays to pose a true risk. I would mention it to the radiographer and see what they say.
