ttc whilst breastfeeding a 12 month old and no period yet

Hi all, my first ever thread as I'm generally a lurker. Me and DP have been ttc for 6 months now (not an easy task as have to fit time in between DD going down in her cot and coming into our bed at first wake up) and I'm not having any joy at all-still no period but hoping to catch my first egg. Any tips on restarting periods with a boob addicted child?

hi milk machine, for some people periods don't return until you completely wean, I know for me I didn't get them back until weaning ds and dd, I guess you could try to lengthen the time between feeds, does dd sleep through the night? sometimes after dropping the night feed they return.... so unfair I know, would have liked a smaller age gap really but sometimes you can't make your body do what you want, if you want to bf.

DD is not a good sleeper - tried day 1 of dr jay gordon last night and worked quite well with no fussing, she was still up every 90 minutes though. I have been back at work 2 days a week for the last 2 months and was hoping the break would kickstart my body back into ovulating but it's just not happened. I'm trying to weigh up whether keeping feeding on demand or another baby is most important to me and can't make up my mind!
