A quick question cos i'm confused!

hi all
i stopped using the evra patch on the 22nd of october, as we have decided to try for another baby. so the first day of my last period was 27th of october...so i think that makes me period due 24th of november. i obviously don't expect to get pregnant this month but do want to know if my date for my period is accurate...so i can know if i was to be late.

Kylie - That depends on your cycle. My cycle is 31 days long for example. Someone else might have a 26 day cycle.

If you have the textbook 28 day cycle then your AF is due on the 24th. The best time to have sex would be between days 11-16 of your cycle...... therefore between the 7th and 12th November. SO GET BUSY WOMAN!!!!

before the patch my cycle was 21 days so would that change things?

YES! Thats quite a short cycle.

Your AF would be due a week earlier (17th November). But you have to work out when you ovulate within your cycle..... it could really be at anytime.

Then again.... you could just let it all happen and not bother charting like some people do if they may have problems conceiving.

right so if my period didn't arrive on the 17th would it be totally mad to do a test..or should i leave it longer? i'm an obsessional tester

Well the 17th isn't till next Thurs so it could be a bit early.

Kylie..... BUT that would be assuming your cycle has returned to normal immediately..... until you have a few cycles after stopping contraception you just don't know! But I'd probably test.

see that's where i am confused! i don't know when i'm due...so don't know when i'm late IYKWIM so wouldn't know when to test...so i could be waiting for my period for ages...if that makes any sense!?!

I would wait until 24 November, and if it is negative then wait another week before retrying. First month coming off contraception is always unreliable and the tests aren't cheap.

I got a +ve result with dd only 9 days after DH and I had sex ('twas a quiet month on the old shagging scene and we only went near each other once!!!!).

just tired and nauesous(sp!) what test did you use? i've got some clear blue here (but not the digital ones)

If your looking for cheap tests I got some on ebay for 79pence for 3! They work, take my word for it .
