Suspected chemical pregnancy, followed by 2 short cycles. Does anyone else have experience of this?

Hi ! We have been TTC DC2 for 5 months. In March, had faint positive test one evening. When I tested the following morning it was negative, and further tests were negative and I got my period a couple of days later (period was a couple of days late in the end). I am quite convinced I was pregnant as I had the same symptoms as with my DS (implantation cramping) and period was much heavier and a different colour. I usually have quite a regular cycle of 27-28 days, but since the suspected 'pregnancy' is has been only 25 and 26 days which is so unusual !!! Does anyone have any ideas what is going on? I am a bit concerned as I don't tend to ovulate til day 17 or 18, and if my luteal phase gets any shorter I don't think that will be a good thing. Thanks :)

Didn't want your post to go unanswered. I haven't had a cp but have had quite a few early miscarriages so I know that the pregnancy hormone in your body can knock your cycles out for a couple of months. It's possible your luteal phase has got shorter but will correct itself over time. I've heard that vit b complex supplements are supposed to he good at lengthening your luteal phase. I've never had a short luteal phase so can't vouch for it personally, but hopefully someone will be along soon with more advice.

And i'm sorry for your loss, it's terrible seeing a bfn after a bfp. Hope it happens for you soon.

Thank you digitalgirl. Sorry to hear about your miscarriages and thank you for your comments. I hope you are where you want to be now. Hoping a few more people post their experiences, am wondering if the conception thread is quite quiet !

smk84 - I had a m/c last year at 7 wks. I had a very regular 28/29 day cycle ever since i can remember. Since the m/c , my cycle has gone down tto 25-26 days and for some reason after 10 months it hasn't fixed itself. My LP went down to 10-11 days (to be fair, I think it may only have been a 12 day LP before m/c). I've now been put on clomid and other things to basically re-tweak everything and give me a longer LP.
Hopefully you won't be going down that route and hopefully your body will just get back to it's normal routine. And apparently it's quite normal to have the odd shorter cycle...
