3 Days late, tender and larger breasts, but neg test...

Hi. I'm 3 days late, and have lots of symptoms. I've had mild period pains, and my boobs have definitely grown, DP keeps mentioning it, they are quite small normally. Have been feeling somewhat queasy of late, too. So i just bought, and did (in the shop toilets) the tesco preg test, and it has shown up negative. I'm really confused, and annoyed, surely 3 days late and with these symptoms would make at least a faint line (if i am pregnant), but nothing... Anyone else experiencing anything like this?

yup. AF was 4 days late for me. All the above symptoms. Did a negative test AF turned up 4 hours later. Put sore/tender/swollen boobs to AF and the week of nausea to the anticipation/stress/guessing.

Sorry if that's all a bit negative. Just not in a positive frame of mind. But fingers crossed for you

Get a first response,and use first urine in the morning as it is the most concentrated, although it wouldn't hurt to leave it a few days. :)

I am 11 days late and have done 4 tesco tests all bfn i am going for a blood test tomorrow

Purplebuns, I was going to get a first response, but then I thought at this point a regular test would surely show up bfp, if i was pregnant. I was too curious to wait till first urine, plus I don't want to say anything to DP yet, although he would be happy if I was, but he would know if I did it in the moring sice we get ready together, and never lock the bathroom door.

I have one left, I guess I'll wait a few more days.

Melliebobs, I'm grateful for your honestly, I know I shouldn't get my hopes up, we weren't even TTC, so I am trying not pin my hopes on it so much, but since suspecting i might be, I've started to really want it.

Hey emma', good luck with the blood test, let me know the result!

Some people don't get a positive test until a while after their missed period, as they may implanted late. Let us know how you get on :)

Also a small proportion of people metabolise the hormones differently so dont get as much hormone in their urine. I have a friend who didnt get a positive result until 6 weeks.

I have been having bad period pains now, since around 11 oclock this morning, so pretty sure AF is on the way. I usually get them before I actually come on. :(

I am still confused as to why my boobs have grown, and why they have been feeling tender. I have never had this before. Also my mood swings have been much worse than normal, I've been absolutely vile to DP the past couple of days!

All this has really made me realise that I would really like to have a baby. We are getting married next summer, and always said we would start having unprotected sex after that. But going by this forum, it seems it could take over a year to conceive. But I'm going to have a chat with DP later about it, and see if he's up for 'getting the ball rolling' early.

Hey emma' any news on the blood test?

It is possible that you had been and it wasn't a sticky one, if you don't have af soon poas as you never know! :)

It's possible Purple', I've just never felt like this before. I haven't come on yet, and my cramps are not as bad as earlier, usually they are horrendous and I often take 3 ibuprofens to stop them. I'm entertaining the idea that it could be pregnancy cramps, but I feel like it's most likely not, even if I had been. The idea that I had kind of makes me happy, since I have often thought 'what if I can't have children' for whatever reason. But I can be such a hypochondriac at times, I'm 27 and had my first smear last month and worried for a week that it would say there was a problem, luckily it was fine.

How long have you been TTC?

How annoying Emma!

It depends how you look at it irt TTC I feel since last July, however I conceived straightaway, but lost the pregnancy so I have only being trying since November so 7 months... I had a chemical pregnancy in April so bit of a rough road, I am still optimistic as August is my month as I got my BFP with DD and then with my lost pregnancy then!

There is no reason why you can't have children you are a spring chicken! How long ttc for you?
I have my fingers crossed btw your not out of the race yet :)

I'm sorry to hear about your loss Purple'. I know there is no reason why I should be infertile, but it's one of those things I have considered to myself, like "what if I was". DP has a little boy from a previous relationship, so I know there would be no problems with his sperm. We weren't actually TTC. I can't take the pill since it really disagrees with me. So we normally sort of put a condom on halfway, of use withdrawel. We were planning on trying after we got married next summer. But all this has really made me just want to get started now. I'm really broody, and I know it's not a good reason, but every time I log onto facebook, someone I was in school or Uni with seems to be announcing their pregnancy, and I find myself feeling like I want to be announcing that too...

Hi, Catface any news? Like my doc said to me recently you have years of healthy ovaries! I wouldn't be in a rush to start TTC whilst planning a wedding not that I was pregnant on MY wedding at all just think whether you want a young baby and all that is associated with it on the big day?

Although I really wish I had started trying earlier, although that is because of wanting a close gap with my children and I am now looking at nearly 3 years if I even manage to keep a PG this month! Sorry Emma, possibly you ovulated late?

Yeah I know what you mean purple. I guess I'm just really broody at the mo, I'm even thinking 'right, 11 days till I ovulate', not that there's much point though. DP reckons we should wait till after we're married too, as he never wanted to have children out of wedlock. But the way he sees it is like, "we'll get married then have children", but he doesn't understand it could take a while, he thinks it will just happen like that. The reason he thinks this is because his ex partner apparently just got pregnant by accident, by missing a one pill. He says they rarely had sex towards the end as she never wanted it, but she was on the pill, and every now and again she would suddenly be up for it. It's obvious to me what had gone on, she was 36, and didn't want to miss the boat, so she stopped to pill and had sex with him at the times she knew she was ovulating. So in his eyes if we're actually trying it will take no time at all. Poor naive DP, would be pointless even attempting to explain things to him, lol. Just annoying that my honestly means waiting another year to even begin TTC...
