DH and I arent actually ttc yet but having sex without protection. DD is 4 and a half months and I haven't had a period yet. When do I start to do preg tests just in case? I don't have access to ovulation tests.

I asked the doc about this as my periods hadn't returned by 10 months. She said to do a test if I started having other symptoms.

She also said that there is a change in breastmilk when you become pregnant, so that if DS started to become frustrated/showing an unexpected change while feeding, that I might want to think about testing.

We do use dummies, she has had maybe 5 bottles of formula ever, I usually feed her the minute she peeps (before checking that anything else could be wrong) and she rarely goes 4 hours without wanting to feed though at night it is sometimes longer. I'm on the folic acid etc anyway as its a preg/bf sup.

Ok so the short story is contraception through bf will be lower than 98%, watch for change of behavior in feeding, see if I feel different and then test.

Thank you!
