We have decided to go ahead and seek fertility treatment in January privately.
We live in London - can anyone recommend a clinic that they have used / are using.

Hi Madigan,

I have had one IVF cycle (including a try with frozen blastocysts), with CRM and although i did get pregnant, I had early MC both times. While I don't think this is their fault, I am switching to the Lister next time as they have an immunology specialist. It depends on what you are looking for but the Lister gets very good reviews by all.

After one unsuccessful IVF cycle, I have decided to change doctors in favor of someone with familiarity with immune issue and implantation. I have seen Dr. Taranissi and Dr. Yao Thum at the Lister. I feel really excited about Dr. Taranissi, but am a little intimidated by the monitoring tests every day.

Can anyone share their experiences pro and con about either of these?

Thanks,
EEMME

Hi guys, my name is Adam me and my partner are patients at HSFC we can't believe what we are reading, we have wanted a baby for many years and been to many clinics and have to say that Dr G Venkat and her team in our eyes are amazing, we went there a few months ago for a consultation and they was so welcoming caring and professional, we had a very long consultation, with the DRs and they outlined every possible detail, we came from Birmingham to visit the clinic, they worked around our busy diary, after the consult, we had bloods taken and all the tests needed, myself and partner had semen test all there on the same day, which was fine and great, everything was in order we even got to see the sperm for ourself under the microscope it was really cool, our surrogate also had her tests on the same day and scan, she had her coil removed, and was put on the pill, we then filled out a form for and egg donor, and with 2-3wks the clinic had found us some to go through, we selected one who unfortunately pulled out a week later, we then found another egg donor, and she responded really well with the treatment and so did our surrogate, there now both ready, and our egg collection is tomorrow morning, we are so excited:) I will let you all know how she gets on and how many mature eggs we get, but so far everything has been great, I we couldn't recommend the clinic enough, they are very hopeful and honest they was very on the ball with tests, bloods, treatment and scans, and very precise with consent forms, also why visiting the clinic on many occasions, we have scene many happy people leaving there with positive pregnancy tests, scans and even twins I'm very sorry for the people that didn't have a nice experience there and I would say to anybody considering clinic to just go there have a consultation and make your mind up from there xxx

Can anyone help me with recommending the best fertility doctor and hospital please. We have been trying for 5months so I am starting to get worried. Thanks

Hi miraivan,
I recommend looking at hfea for published success results of all clinics. I would recommend CRGH in London who get great results and I have found their treatment very good. Dr Ozturk is very nice and explains everything clearly.
Good luck :)

Would not recommend Lister Hospital. Not what was expected. I went to Lister hospital for egg freezing. I had Dr Jaya Parikh who performed the surgery. On the cycle I was due to start, my follicles were low compared to the previous cycle. I was concerned but Dr Parikh seemed very commercial and money driven and persuaded me that l never know if the next cycle is going to be good cycle in terms of higher number of follicles. So l went ahead. She also said there was a polyp in my uterus that needs to be removed. In fact l never had a polyp and Dr Parikh proliferated and the dialator went through my uterus and l had to do an emergency laporoscopy to check for internal bleeding. I also only had 2 eggs retrieved. Very disappointing. I went to private thinking that I will get better service but please be cautious. I was otherwise healthy now l have scars from laporoscopy and a damaged uterus. Be warned of Dr Parikh, she is not good doctor, and she became very defensive, no apology at all from her. My social life I want to write this, so that other patients do not go through what l did. I also asked for refund and they refused to give me back the £5.8k I spent on the egg freezing. My social life is taken a bad turn as a result.

Please avoid CRGH. The treatment we received was exceptionally bad in terms of customer service and bedside manner. I really do regret the time and money wasted there. We have moved clinics and whilst the results are still not what we would have hoped for, the entire process has been far more bearable.
