Hi took about 6 weeks until I got my period - I would go for it as you will find your body is keen to be pregnant again. This is exactly what happened to me anyway! good luck!

Thanks Wentworth. How quickly did you get pregnant after stopping?

Hi blueberry - it took me about three months. I'm still not pregnant but that's because about the same time my periods returned I had a slipped disc necessitating Very Powerful Drugs so I put plans on hold... It took a friend of mine three months as well.

My periods started whilst I was still BF, at around 7 months IIRC. Stopped BF at 10 months, and started TTC#2 when DS was 12 months. Got pg first month but sadly had a MMC. I was 41.

Good luck.

i got pregnant immediately on stopping BF after DS1 (at the age of 38) - no period in between. Then, after DS2, had period a week after stopping BF, and got pg again after 2 periods (aged almost 40). BF them both for 12-13 mths so similar timescales to you. Good luck!

Thanks girls. very helpful - and hopeful!

Longtalljosie - hope your back is better soon. My husband had a slipped disc a couple of years ago and I know it is very painful and incapacitating. Good luck.
